The product is designed for use by persons aged 16 or older. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

Specified Conditions of Use
This product is only suitable for occasional use. The gas fan heater is designed for heating, drying buildings and de-icing and must only be operated in well-ventilated rooms or outdoors. Ventilation openings of at least 750 cm 2 must be avail- able in the room where the appliance is installed (at least 25 cm 2 per 1 kW rated heat output). The minimum room size must not be less than 300 m 3 (1 m 3 per 100 W rated heat output). When using the device, the respective local building and fire protection regulations must be observed. Please note that our equipment has not been designed for commercial, craft or industrial use. If the equipment is used in commercial, craft or industrial operation or for similar activities, we cannot assume any liability. Do not use this product in any other way as stated for normal use. Not observing general regulations in force and instructions from this manual does not make the manufacturer liable for damages.

The gas heater must not be used::
IT MUST NOT BE USED FOR HEATING HABITABLE ROOMS IN RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS; FOR USE IN PUBLIC BUILDINGS, OBSERVE NATIONAL REGULATIONS.

The device must not be operated in environments or 0rooms below ground level.
Do not install the device in rooms at risk of explosions and fire.
In the vicinity of combustible materials (e.g. paper, building materials);
An explosive atmosphere may be created in places wherevolatile materials (e.g. gasoline, solvents, chemicals) are stored or present;
The apparatus is not intended for drying of clothing or for installation under benches or in floor trenches.
Do not use the device in animal husbandry or animal breeding.
After an arbitrary structural change in the gas heater; Theheater may not be operated without a fire protection grille in its designated location. Only operate the device when it is fully assembled!
In case of wrong, unauthorised connection to a gas source;
In places that are not sufficiently ventilated;
As a source of heat for events and festivals.

Emergency procedure
Conduct a first-aid procedure adequate to the injury and summon qualified medical attendance as quickly as possible. Protect the injured person from further harm and calm them down. Safety instructions for Gas fan heater
Read all safety warnings and all instructions.
Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
Some regions have regulations that restrict the use of the machine. Check with your local authority for advice.
Warning – certain parts of the product may get hot enough to cause burns.
Particular caution is called for if children and persons requiring protection are present.
Only use the device in a well-ventilated environment and away from combustible materials.
Do not use or store explosive or flammable materials (e.g. fuel, paper, paints) in the vicinity of the product.
Keep the following safety distances:
Air intake side 2,5 m; Air outlet side 3,5 m;
side 2,0 m; top 2,0 m; back 2,5 m.
Do not put foreign objects in the device.
Make sure that the fan is operating properly before igniting the burner.
Never place the gas cylinder in front of the gas fan heater when it is in use!
This is a fire hazard!
It must  always be ensured that air can be taken in and  ventedfreely.
The devices may not be used in atmospheres that contain  oil, sulphur orsalt.
Do not set up in rooms at risk of fire (e.g. wood sheds).

Warning! – To prevent overheating, never cover the heater with anything.

Do not use this heater with a program switch, a time switch, a separate remote control system or any other device that automatically switches the heater on, as there is a risk  of fire if the heater is covered or set up incorrectly.
Always switch off the device, as described in this manual, if you cannot leave it in a safe state. Secure the device against unauthorised use, e.g. by enclosing the gas cylinders.  Leave the premises, move to a clear place and warn other people.

Warning! – Danger of short circuit!
Never operate/touch the device with wet hands.
Protect the electrical parts from moisture. To prevent electrical shock, never submerse these parts in water or other fluids during cleaning or when in operation. Never hold the apparatus under flowing water.
Switch off the device and disconnect it from the power supply before replacing accessory parts, cleaning work and if it is not in use.
Operation is only allowed with a safety switch against stray current (RCD max. stray current of 30mA).

Warning! – Damaged mains cords pose a hazard of electrocution.
Handle the cord carefully. Hold the plug when unplugging the tool. Never use the cord to carry the apparatus. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Replace damaged cords immediately. Damaged cords increase the risk of electric shock and may create a fire. If the replacement of the supply cord is necessary, this has to be done by the manufacturer or his agent in order to avoid a safety hazard. Use extension cables with a maximum length of 5 meters and with a cable cross-section of not less than 1.5 mm 2 .
Use of extension cables of different length and crosssection and also of adapters and multiple sockets should be avoided.

Warning! – Risk of asphyxiation and explosion if leaks occur.
The device must be disconnected from the gas cylinder after every use using the gas cylinder shut-off valve!
Prevent any torsion stresses on the connection hose.
Make sure that the gas hose is not twisted.
People are prohibited from being in the installation area at any time.
Do not move the device when it is in use.
Always place the unit on a firm and flat surface!
Close the gas bottle valve after use.

| Connect the pressure regulator to the gas cylinder valve and attach the gas hose to the pressure regulator.
| Put the mains cable into a suitable socket.
| Open the gas cylinder valve.
| Switch on the device with the toggle switch and check from the intake side whether the fan is rotating.
| Keep the gas valve knob pressed for approx. 10 seconds until the thermal fuse has warmed up and keeps the gas supply open.
Then ignite using the piezo button.
| Close the gas cylinder valve to switch off.
Then let the fan run for 1-2 minutes to blow out any non-combusted gas and cool down the device.
| Switch off the device at the toggle switch and disconnect it from the gas cylinder by unscrewing the pressure regulator from  the gas cylinder valve.

Any damaged or disposed electric or electronic devices must be delivered to appropriate collection centres.

Operation

An unpleasant smell may be produced when the device is used for the first time in some cases. This is however completely harmless and will disappear completely over time.
Before each use, check the device and its connecting parts and accessories for damage.

Power on:

  1. Connect the pressure regulator to the gas cylinder valve.
  2. Connect the gas hose to the pressure regulator.
  3. Connect the gas hose to the heater.
  4. Open the gas cylinder valve.
  5. Check screw caps with leak detection spray or soapy water for possible gas leakage. Tighten again if necessary.
  6. Put the mains cable into a suitable socket.
  7. Press the On/Off switch to switch on the device.
  8. From the intake side, check whether the fan is rotating.
  9. If the fan is turning, keep the gas valve button pressed and at the same time press the ignition button repeatedly until the burner ignites.
  10. Keep the gas valve knob pressed for approx. 10 seconds until the thermal fuse has warmed up and keeps the gas supply open.
  11. Check that the gas heater is running continuously.
  12. Use the control dial to adjust the heat output to the desired level.

Power off:

  1. To switch off the gas heater, always close the gas cylinder valve first.
  2. Run the fan for 1-2 minutes to blow out any noncombusted gas and to cool down the unit.
  3. Switch the device off with the On/Off switch.
  4. Pull out the mains plug to disconnect the device from the mains.
  5. Disconnect the device from the gas cylinder by unscrewing the pressure regulator from the gas cylinder valve.
  6. Carry out the maintenance and cleaning work described in the instructions. Please note the intervals mentioned. (once a month, every 50 operating hours, after each season)
  7. Store the device and the gas cylinders as described in the chapter on storage

Handling of gas bottles.
Make sure the gas bottles are used and stored in rooms with sufficient air inlet and outlet.
A leaking gas bottle may reduce the share of oxygen in the inhaled air and therefore represent a risk of suffocation.
Before using the device, always check that the pressure controller seal is correctly fitted and working properly.
Before use, make sure the gas bottle contains gas designed for the work being done.
Gas bottles must always be safely fixed in a vertical position on a wall support or on a specially manufactured gas bottle cart.
The liquid gas cylinder must be changed in a well-ventilated room or outdoors, and away from open flames (cigarettes, candles or other devices with open flames).
A gas cylinder with a pressure regulator attached must not be moved. Close the gas bottle valve after use.
The gas bottle valve must be closed during transport.

Smell of gas or suspect leakage
If you smell gas or suspect a leak, do not use the device. If the device is in use, the gas supply must be shut off immediately. Immediately open windows and doors. Do not press any electrical switches (e.g. light switches), do not use a telephone or similar and do not use any naked flames or sources of ignition! The device must be checked and any faults remedied before it can be used again.

Emergency procedure

  • Stop the gas supply to the device.
  • Move out of the danger zone immediately and make sure that no other persons are in the danger zone.
  • Call the fire brigade.

Maintenance

Before doing any work on the device pull the plug out of the socket.
Do not tug at the cable to unplug the apparatus.
All activities that require the device to be opened may only be carried out by Güde or authorised specialist companies.
Have the device checked annually or after a longer period of storage by a specialist electrical company to ensure that it is in good working order.
Check the gas hose lines at least once a month as well as every time the gas cylinder is replaced. If there are any signs of damage, the hose lines must be replaced.
The entire device must be checked for correct functio nality, including a leak test, once a month. A leak test can be carried out with a leak detection spray or soapy water, for example.

Warning! – Never carry out a leakage check with an open flame.
Clean the fan blades and the inside of the heater with compressed air every season or as needed.
Always keep children and unauthorised persons out of reach of the appliance.
Repairs and works specified in these instructions may only be performed by qualified authorised staff.
Use only original accessories and original spare parts.
Keep the device, in particular the air vents, clean at all times. Never spray water on the device body!
Do not clean the plastics with solvents, flammable or toxic fluids. For cleaning, use a damp cloth only.
Only a regularly maintained and treated appliance can serve as a satisfactory aid. Insufficient maintenance and care can lead to unforeseen accidents and injuries.

Storage
When not in use and in storage

  • Close the gas cylinder valve.
  • Turn off the device and disconnect it from power supply. (» Power off )
  • Unscrew the pressure regulator from the gas cylinder.
  • Remove the gas cylinder from the device.
  • Leave the device to cool after use.

Store the device and its accessories in a dark, dry and frost free place, which cannot be accessed by children.
The optimum storage temperature is between 5 and 30°.
Always store the device and the gas cylinder separately.
Never store the liquid gas cylinder in environments or rooms below ground level!
Never store liquid gas cylinders in unventilated places!
The gas cylinders must be fitted with valve protection caps and lock nuts when stored.
Gas cylinders must always be stored upright! This also applies to empty gas cylinders!

Warranty
Warranty period of 12 months applies to commercial use and 24 months applies to private use and commences on the day of purchase of the device. The guarantee solely covers inadequacies caused by material defect or manufacturing defect. Original payment voucher with the sales date needs to be submitted for any claim in the guarantee period. The guarantee does not cover any unauthorised use such as appliance overloading, use of violence, damage as a result of any unauthorised interference or caused by foreign items. Failing to follow the operating and assembly instructions and common wear are also not included in the guarantee.

Important information for the customer
Please note that returns within or outside the warranty period should always be in the original packaging. This measure effectively avoids unnecessary transport damage and  any associated disputed ruling. Your equipment is optimally protected only in the original box, and keeping it in that box will ensure smooth processing.

Disposal
Do not dispose of electrical appliances in household waste; use the local collection points. Ask your local authority where the collection points are to be found. If electrical equipment is disposed of in an uncontrolled manner, weathering can lead to dangerous substances entering the groundwater and from there the food chain, or the flora and fauna can be poisoned for years. If you replace the device with a new one, the seller is legally obliged at the least to take back the old one to be disposed of free of charge.

Transport packaging disposal
The packaging protects the machine against damage during transport. Packaging materials are usually chosen based on environment aspects and waste treatment principles  and are therefore recyclable. Returning the packaging into material circulation saves raw materials and reduces waste production. Parts of packagings (e.g. foils, styropor®) can be dangerous for children.

Risk of suffocation!
Keep parts of the packagings out of reach of children and dispose them as soon as possible.

Failure removal
