**

This quick guide covers the main functions of the MiniMed™ 780G system when the automatic SmartGuard™ function is active. For more details on how to use the product, refer to the system’s instruction manual.

Shortcuts

| To stop the entire insulin delivery or bolus, press UPYou can continue delivery from the same location.|

| You can access the ‘Time in Range’ by pressing RIGHT.|

  • Press the SELECT button on the Home screen
  • The Insulin icon will show as selected
  • Move to the desired icon: it changes color and the menu name appears at the top of the screen

Sensor calibration
The insulin pump needs to be calibrated at least every 12 hours. Sometimes the pump may also request extra calibration to improve performance. When the pump needs calibration, it displays an Enter BG now alert.

  • Use only BG values from fingertips for calibration
  • See the next page for instructions on measuring your blood sugar

Note: If the calibration was not accepted, wait at least 15 minutes. Wash your hands and measure the BG again. If the “Calibration not accepted” alert is still received after the second calibration, a Change Sensor alert occurs.

Suspending insulin delivery

If the pump is disconnected from the body, insulin delivery needs to be suspended.
Suspend: Press UP and select Suspend all Delivery. Select Yes.
Resume: Press UP and select Resume Basal. Select Yes.
Measuring blood glucose

You can also enter blood glucose to the pump manually:

  1. Choose from the menu.
  2. Enter BG
  3. Select SAVE.

Temporary target

When needed, you can set a temporary target (8.3 mmol/l) for the pump from the SmartGuard™ menu. When the temporary target is active, auto-correction boluses are not delivered.

Pump home screens
Blue Shield:
SmartGuard™ function is active and works normally.

Red bar:
Insulin delivery is suspended.

Note: If the pump is in manual mode, the shield is not shown on the home screen. The pump also works a little differently. Confirm the instructions for manual mode separately.

Pump alerts and all alarms

Pump alerts and all alarms All alerts, alarms, and messages given by the pump must be acknowledged without delay. If necessary, follow the instructions displayed on the pump screen.

Alert:
Your pump needs attention.
E.g. Low battery.
Low reservoir.

Alarm:
Address right away.
E.g. Insulin flow is blocked. Replace the battery now.
Note: The notification light flashes when the pump has an alarm or alert.
Staying in the SmartGuard™ feature:
When the pump requires an action to stay in the SmartGuard™ feature, it provides notification and the time remaining before an exit to the manual mode (max. 4 hours).
