LED Dimmer Trailing Edge

Please note:

– This is a two-wire dimmer and it should be connected as shown under the heading ‘Wiring diagram:
– Installation of the dimmer to a 230V mains power supply should be carried out by a qualified professional, taking into account national regulations. During all work, make sure that the electricity is switched off.
– You cannot connect more than one dimmer in parallel. To then operate the same load from two points.
– Dimmer is not suitable for wound/magnetic or core transformers.

SETTING LEADING OR TRAILING EDGE

The dimmer features two dimming techniques: Leading edge (RL) and Trailing edge (RC). By means of the slide switch on the dimmer, the desired technique can be selected. Most dimmable LED lamps work best with the Trailing edge (RC) dimming technique. If the packaging of the lamps does not indicate which technique is used to dim the lamps, you can try both techniques to choose which one works best.

SETTING MIN. LIGHT LEVEL

Turn on the lights using the dimmer shaft. Then turn the dimmer shaft as far as possible to the left (minimum light output). Do the lights blink? Then use a screwdriver to slowly turn the MIN potentiometer to the right for stable light. Is the light already stable? Then slowly turn the MIN to the left for even better dimmability, until just before the point the lamps start blinking. That is the best dimmability of these LED lamps.

SETTING MAX. LIGHT LEVEL

Turn on the lights using the dimmer shaft. Then turn the dimmer shaft as far as possible to the right (maximum light output). Do the lights blink? Then turn the MAX potentiometer slowly to the left for stable light. Is the light already stable? Then slowly turn the MAX to the right for even better dimmability, to just before the point when the lamps start flashing. This is the best dimmability of the LED lamps.

INSTALLATION

EcoDim LED Dimmer Trailing Edge - parts 1

81 Step 1
Always ensure that the electricity is switched off during installation. Then connect the power wires as shown in the ‘Wiring diagram:
82 Step 2
Now install the dimmer in the flush-mounting box.
83 Step 3
Now select the desired dimming technology (phase on (RL) or phase off (RC), more on  this under the heading “Setting leading or trailing edge”
Then switch on the electricity again. Switch on the connected lamps using the dimmer shaft. Now set the MIN and the MAX as indicated under “Setting min. light level” & “Setting max. light level’
84 Step 4
Replace the cover frame, central plate and dimmer button on the dimmer.
85 Step 5
In case a fuse breaks, you can easily replace it by using a small screwdriver to remove the “Fuse box” from the dimmer and replace the broken fuse with the supplied spare fuse. Simply snap the fuse out of the sleeve and then snap the new one back into place.
Then push the “Fuse box” back into the dimmer. The dimmer is ready for use.
