DO NOT immerse the appliance in water.

DO NOT clean with jet/ pressure washers.

DO NOT move or carry the appliance when it is switched on and containing hot food.

DO NOT operate the appliance without water in the outer container.

Keep the lid closed when not serving.

Always switch off and disconnect the power supply to the appliance when not in use.

Keep all packaging away from children. Dispose of the packaging in accordance to the regulations of local authorities.

If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by an BUFFALO agent or a recommended qualified technician in order to avoid a hazard.

BUFFALO recommend that this appliance should be periodically tested (at least annually) by a Competent Person. Testing should include, but not be limited to: Visual Inspection, Polarity Test, Earth Continuity, Insulation Continuity and Functional Testing.

This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

Installation
Note: Do not install the appliance in an area where a water jet could be used.
Ensure the location for the unit can support its weight when full.
- Remove the appliance from the packaging. Make sure that all protective plastic film and plastic coatings are thoroughly removed from all surfaces.
- Before using for the first time, clean the inner pot with soapy water then dry well. For details, please refer to ‘Cleaning, Care & Maintenance’.

Getting started
1. Fill the outer pot with approximately 3.5L water. Do not exceed the
MAX marking.
2. Attach the metal collar, then carefully place the inner pot into the
appliance. Fit the lid.
Note: The inner pot must NOT float, even when empty. If the pot floats, reduce the amount of water in the outer pot.
3. Connect the appliance to the mains power supply and turn on the power
switch (“ I ” position).
4. The display will show “ – “, indicating the appliance has entered
Standby.
HEAT mode
Heat mode should be used when re-heating Soups and other foods from refrigerated or cold… This is to ensure the food is heated quickly and safely to serving temperature.
1. Press the heat mode button to start heating at full power. The heating
mode indicator light will turn on and the display will show “H”.
2. Press the heat mode button repeatedly to select the interval for stirring
time alarm (off, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 20 minutes). The selected time
indicator light will turn on.
- Tip: In general, the higher concentration of the soup, the shorter interval for stirring.
(Like for mashed potato soup, 5-min interval for stirring is recommended.)
3. After pre-heating for about 20 minutes, pour the soup into the inner pot.
4. During heating, the appliance will give out 5 beeps at the set time
interval to remind the user to stir the contents to avoid burning.
5. When the soup is heated, press the hold mode button to manually switch
from heating mode to hold mode (Keeping warm mode). Or, the appliance will
keep working at full power thus consume extra electricity.
Note: When the appliance is on under heating mode for 2 hours, it will automatically switch from heating mode to hold mode.
Attention: Never move or carry the appliance when it is switched on or contains hot liquid.
HOLD mode
Hold mode should be used to hold already hot food at optimum serving temperatures. The desired power/temperature can be set according to preference and type of food.
1. Press the hold mode button to enter the hold mode. The indicator light
will turn on.
2. Press the power control buttons and to set the temperature level:

3. After about 5 minutes, the appliance starts to keep the soup at the set
temperature level.
4. After use, turn off the power switch (“ O ” position) and unplug the
appliance.
Cleaning, Care & Maintenance
- Always turn off and disconnect the appliance from the power supply before cleaning.
- Clean any spilt food on the appliance immediately.
- Use soapy water and a damp cloth to clean the exterior of the appliance.
- The inner container and lid are dishwasher safe.
- Dry thoroughly after cleaning.
Descaling
In hard water areas lime scale can build up within the appliance after prolonged use. To descale the appliance.
- Remove the lid and inner pot first.
- Pour a solution of de-scaler and water into the outer pot.
- Follow the manufacturer’s instructions on the de-scale solution with reference to the length of time required to soak, agitation, water temperature and on how to dispose of the solution safely.
- Fill the outer pot with clean water and turn the appliance On to flush out the system. Flush out the system thoroughly to remove any de-scaler residue.
- The appliance is now ready for use.
Note: Use a suitable descaler and always follow the manufacturer’s instructions. BUFFALO recommend that this appliance is descaled every 3 months or more frequently in hard water areas.
IMPORTANT: Failure to descale or maintain will invalidate your guarantee.

Electrical Wiring
This appliance is supplied with a 3 pin BS1363 plug and lead.
The plug is to be connected to a suitable mains socket.
This appliance is wired as follows:
- Live wire (coloured brown) to terminal marked L
- Neutral wire (coloured blue) to terminal marked N
- Earth wire (coloured green/yellow) to terminal marked E
This appliance must be earthed.
If in doubt consult a qualified electrician.
Electrical isolation points must be kept clear of any obstructions. In the event of any emergency disconnection being required they must be readily accessible.
