  • Congratulations on purchasing your new cordless hand-held vacuum cleaner (hereafter referred to as a device or power tool). You have chosen a high-quality device.
  • This device was quality-tested and subjected to a final inspection during production, therefore ensuring the proper functioning of your device.
  • In some cases, residual amounts of water may be present on or in the device or in hose lines. This is not a flaw or a defect and is no cause for concern.
  • The instruction manual forms part of this device. It contains important information on safety, use, and disposal. Read the instruction manual carefully. Familiarise yourself with the controls and how to use the device correctly.
  • Use the device only as described and for the stated fields of application. Store the instruction manual carefully and ensure that all documents are handed over if the device is passed on to another user.

Proper use

  • This device is only intended for the following uses.
  • Wet and dry vacuuming in the DIY sector (e.g. in the home, hobby room, car, or garage)
  • Vacuuming of dry and wet suction material
  • Vacuuming of small quantities of liquids
  • The vacuuming of flammable, explosive, or hazardous substances is prohibited.
  • Any other use that is not expressly permitted in this instruction manual may pose a serious hazard to the user and result in damage to the device.
  • The operator or user of the machine is responsible for any accidents or personal injury and/or material damage to third parties or their prop-erty.

Safely starting up the cordless hand-held vacuum cleaner

Attention! The following basic safety precautions must be observed while using electrical devices to protect against electric shock, injury, and risk of fire.

General Information

  • Read the instruction manual carefully. Familiarise yourself with the controls and how to use the device correctly.
  • This device can be used by children aged 8 years and up as well as individuals with reduced physical, sensory, or mental abilities or a lack of experience and knowledge if they are supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the device and understand the resulting hazards. Children must never play with the device. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children if they are not supervised.
  • Note that the user is responsible for any accidents or risks to others and their property.
  • Observe noise protection rules and other local regula-tions.

Preparation

  • Make sure before use that the appliance is properly assembled and that the filters are in the correct position. Never perform vacuuming without a filter. The appliance could become damaged.
  • Never use the device if there are children or animals nearby. People nearby must wear protective clothing.

Operation

  • Pay attention, be aware of what you are doing, and take the utmost care when working with the device. Do not use the device if you are tired or you are under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication.
  • Do not allow the vacuum to come into contact with people or animals.
  • While in operation, never aim the appliance and nozzles at yourself or other people; particularly not eyes or ears.
  • The appliance and nozzles must not be at head height while working. There is a risk of injury.
  • Do not vacuum hot, glowing, flammable, explosive, or hazardous substances. These include hot ashes, petrol, solvents, acids, or alkalis amongst others. Risk of fire and injury.
  • Do not touch the appliance with wet hands!
  • Never transport the device while the drive is running.
  • Switch off the device and remove the battery. Make sure that all moving parts have come to a complete stop
  • when leaving the device,
  • before changing the accessories,
  • before removing obstructions or loosening block-ages,
  • before checking the device, cleaning it, or performing maintenance work on it.
  • If the device starts to vibrate abnormally, an immediate check is required, remove the battery and:
  • examine for loose parts and tighten them,
  • search for signs of damage,
  • and replace damaged accessories. For repairs, contact the service center.

Cleaning, maintenance, and storage

  • Do not submerge the appli-ance in water!
  • Allow the motor to cool down before storing the device for a longer period.
  • Remove the battery from the appliance before storing it.
  • Replace worn or damaged parts in the interests of safety. Use only original spare parts and accessories. Using externally produced parts results in the immediate loss of any warranty claim.
  • The device may only be opened by an authorized electrician. Always contact our service center for repairs.
  • Switch the drive off, remove the battery, and allow the device to cool off if you want to clean, adjust, store the device, or exchange an ac-cessory part.
  • Handle the device with care and keep it clean.
  • Store the device out of reach of children.

Safe operation of battery chargers

  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the machine.
  • Use this charger only for charging batteries of the series X 20 V TEAM. Charging other batteries may cause injury and risk of fire and explosion.
  • Before each use, check the charger, cable, and plug, and have repairs carried out by qualified personnel using only original spare parts. Do not use the charger if defective and do not open it yourself.
  • This ensures the safety of the device is not adversely affected.
  • Ensure that the mains voltage and mains frequency match the specifications on the rating plate. Adaptation to the various main frequencies is automatic.
  • Keep the charger clean and away from moisture and rain. Never use the charger outdoors. Dirt and water penetration increase the risk of electric shock.
  • Avoid mechanical damage to the charger. This can lead to internal short circuit.
  • The charger must not be operated on or near flammable surfaces (e.g. paper, textiles). Risk of fire due to heating caused by charging.
  • If the power cord of this device is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, their customer service, or by a similarly qualified person to avoid hazards. contact the service center.
  • Remove the mains plug when the battery is fully charged and disconnect the battery from the charger.
  • Do not attempt to charge non-rechargeable batteries in the charger.
  • Only charge your batteries indoors since the charger is not designed for outdoor use. The danger of electric shock.
  • In order to minimize the risk of electric shock, pull the charger plug out of the outlet before cleaning it.
  • If warm, allow the bat-tery to cool before charging.
  • Only use accessories recommended by PARKSIDE. Unsuitable accessories may cause electric shock or fire.

Preparation

  • WARNING! Risk of injury due to unintentional start-up. Only insert the battery into the device once the device is fully prepared for use.

Appliance display (Fig. A)

LED work light (Fig. A)

  • The LED work light (3) switches on and off automatically with the appliance.

Motorized brush attachment (Fig. B)

  • The motorized brush attachment (15) is suitable for dry vacuuming upholstery or removing pet hair, among other applications.
  • You can treat hard surfaces with the protective grille (23) open and carpets with closed protective grille (23) closed. Slide the protective grille (23) open or closed until it clicks into place.

Small brush attachment (Fig. A)

  • The small brush attachment (14) is suitable for dry vacuuming sensitive surfaces.
  • Note Can only be used in combination with the crevice nozzle (11).

Universal nozzle (Fig. A)

  • The universal nozzle (13) is suitable for many types of dry vacuuming, such as cleaning up the debris created during drilling.
  • Note Can only be used in combination with the crevice nozzle (11).

Wet nozzle (Fig. A)

  • The wet nozzle (12) is suitable for vacu-uming liquids.

Crevice nozzle (Fig. A)

  • The crevice nozzle (11) is suitable for dry vacuuming crevices, corners, and radiat-ors.
  • Note The crevice nozzle (11) also functions as an extension for the small brush attachment (14) and the universal nozzle (13).

Checking the battery charge level

  1. Press the button (19) next to the charge level indicator button (20) on the battery (18).
    • The LEDs of the charge level indicator show how much charge remains in the battery.
  2. Charge the battery (18) when only the red LED on the charge level indicator (20) is illuminated.

Attaching and removing the collection container

Notes

  • Empty the collection container (1) after every use.
  • Empty the collection container (1) if suction power is decreasing.
  • Hold the appliance with the collection container (1) horizontally to read the fill level.
  • Empty the collection container (1) as soon as the “Maximum fill level” mark (2) has been reached.
  • When removing the collection container (1), hold the appliance with the wet nozzle (12) pointing downwards to prevent liquid from getting into the appli-ance!
  • If the collection container (1) is too full of dust or if liquid gets into the motor housing during wet vacuuming, the ap-pliance may become damaged!

Removing the collection container (Fig. A)

  1. Press the release (6).
  2. Carefully take off the collection container (1).
  3. Let go of the release (6).

Emptying the collection container (Fig. A)

  1. Remove the filter holder (4) / filter (5), see Attaching and removing the filter holder/filter
  2. Empty the collection container (1).
  3. Clean the collection container (1) with a damp cloth if required.

  1. Fit the filter holder (4) / filter (5), see Attaching and removing the filter holder/filter
  2. Press the release (6).
  3. Reattach the collection container (1) to the appliance. Place the collection container (1) on the bottom of the appli-ance and snap the collection container (1) into the release (6) on the top of the appliance.
  4. Let go of the release (6).

WARNING! Risk of injury. Ensure that the battery is not inserted (see Insert-ing and removing the battery, p. 33).

Attaching the filter holder/filter (Fig. A)

  1. Place the filter (5) in the filter holder (4). Ensure that the recesses in the outer filter edge line up with the notches in the filter holder (4).
  2. Turn the filter (5) clockwise until seated. You will hear it click into place.
  3. Place the filter holder (4) and filter (5) back into the collection container (1) Due to its shape, the filter holder (4) can only be inserted into the collection container (1) in one position.
  4. Press lightly on the filter holder (4) to check whether the filter holder (4) is seated in the collection container (1).
  5. Attach the collection container (1), see Attaching and removing the collection container, p. 31.

Removing the filter holder/filter (Fig. A)

  1. Remove the collection container (1), see Attaching and removing the collection container, p. 31.
  2. Pull the filter holder (4) with inserted fil-ter (5) out of the collection container (1).
  3. Turn the filter (5) anti-clockwise and pull it out of the filter holder (4).

Attaching/removing the nozzles

Attaching the nozzles (Fig. A)

  1. Insert one of the nozzles (11/12/15) completely into the front opening of the collection container (1). Ensure that the motorized brush attachment (15) is connected to the power contacts (21).
  2. To use the attachments (13/14), you need to attach them to the crevice nozzle (11).

Removing the nozzles (Fig. A)

  1. Remove the nozzles (11/12/15) by pulling them forward out of the collection container (1).
  2. Pull the attachments (13/ 14) off the crevice nozzle (11) at a slight angle. This makes it easier to pull the tab (a) of the relevant nozzle to be removed over the nose (b) of the crevice nozzle (11).

Inserting and removing the battery

  • WARNING! Risk of injury due to unintentional start-up. Only insert the battery (18) into the machine once it is fully prepared for use.
  • CAUTION! Risk of injury. Ensure that the appliance is switched off.
  • Note An incorrect battery can damage the machine and the battery.

Inserting the battery (Fig. A)

  1. To insert the battery (18), push the battery (18) along the battery holder into the appliance. You will hear it click into place.

Removing the battery (Fig. A)

  1. Press the battery release (17).
  2. Pull the battery (18) out of the appli-ance.
  3. Let go of the battery release (17).

Charging the battery

  • CAUTION! Risk of injury. Ensure that the appliance is switched off.
  • Note The supplied charger (16) enables charging directly via the appliance.

Procedure (Fig. A)

  1. Insert the battery (see Inserting and removing the battery,
  2. Connect the charger (16) to the charging socket (10) of the appliance and a suitable power source.
  3. During charging, please observe the battery charge level indicator (20). Please refer to Checking the battery charge level,

Operation

Working instructions

  • CAUTION! Risk of injury. Do not op-erate the appliance if damaged or incor-rectly assembled! Replace damaged parts and dirty filters (see Spare parts and accessories,
  • Also, inspect the appliance for visual damage.
  • Ensure that the collection container (1) filter holder (4) and filter (5) are dry when changing directly from wet vacu-uming to dry vacuuming!
  • Only vacuum liquid up to the “Maximum fill level” mark (2).
  • Always hold the appliance vertically during transport, otherwise the liquid will leak out! Hold the attached wet nozzle (12) downwards.

Switching on and off

  • Note Before switching on, check whether the filter holder (4) and filter (5) are inserted and dry (see Attaching and removing the filter holder/filter,

  1. Press the on/off switch (9) to switch on.

  1. Press the on/off switch (9) to switch off.

Using ECO / Turbo mode

  • The appliance can be operated in two working levels:
  • ECO mode: The appliance operates at the lowest speed for maximum battery life. This operating time is approx. 35 Min.
  • Turbo mode: The appliance operates at the maximum speed. If the resistance is too low, the motor speed is adjusted. This operating time is approx. 20 Min.

Using ECO mode (Fig. A)

  • Press the on/off switch (9) once to switch the appliance on.
  • The appliance runs in ECO mode.

Using Turbo mode (Fig. A)

  1. Press the on/off switch (9) a second time.
  2. The appliance will now run in turbo mode.

Changing mode (Fig. A)

  1. Press the on/off switch (9) a third time. The appliance switches off.
  2. For the desired mode, repeat the process of using ECO mode / Turbo mode.

Cleaning, maintenance, and storage

  • WARNING! Risk of injury due to unintentional start-up. Protect yourself when performing maintenance or cleaning work. Switch off the device and remove the bat-tery (18).
  • You should have any repair and maintenance work that is not described in these instructions carried out by our Service Centre. Only use original replacement parts.

Cleaning

General cleaning

  • WARNING! Electric shock! Never spray down the device with water.
  • Notes Risk of damage. Chemical substances may attack the plastic parts of the machine. Do not use any cleaning agents or solvents.
  • Make sure to keep the ventilation openings free of foreign objects.
  • Clean the surface of the appliance with a soft brush or cloth.
  • Empty the collection container (1) after every use.
  • Clean the collection container (1) with a damp cloth.

Cleaning the filter (Fig. A)

  1. Remove the collection container (1), see Attaching and removing the collection container.
  2. Remove the filter holder (4) / filter (5), see Attaching and removing the filter holder/filter.
  3. Tap the filter (5) and clean it with a brush or compressed air.
  4. You can also clean a heavily soiled fil-ter (5) under running water. The filter (5) must be completely dry before re-use.
  5. If the filter (5) is too dirty, replace it with a new filter (5) (see Spare parts and accessories.
  6. Fit the filter holder (4) / filter (5), see Attaching and removing the filter holder/filter.
  7. Attach the collection container (1), see Attaching and Removing the collection container.

Cleaning the motorized brush attachment

  • Note Remove the motorised brush attachment (15) from the appliance before cleaning.
  • Only fit a dry attachment back onto the appliance. (Fig. B)
  1. Open the protective grille (23).
  2. Slide the brush release (22) forwards.
  3. Take the brush roll (24) out of the motorized brush attachment (15).
  4. Clean the motorized brush attachment (15) with a damp cloth.
  5. Clean the brush roll (24) with clear water and some mild detergent, if ne-cessary.
  6. Allow the brush roll (24) to dry completely.
  7. Slide the brush release (22) forward and hold this position.
  8. Press the brush roll (24) into the motorized brush attachment (15).
  9. Let go of the brush release (22).

Maintenance

Replacing the filter

Replace an excessively dirty filter (5) with a new one. New filters can be acquired from the online shop (see Spare Parts and Accessories.

Procedure (Fig. A)

  1. Remove the collection container (1), see Attaching and removing the collection container,
  2. Remove the filter holder (4) / filter (5), see Attaching and removing the filter holder/filter.
  3. Replace the old filter (5) with a new one.
  4. Fit the filter holder (4) / filter (5), see Attaching and removing the filter holder/filter.
  5. Attach the collection container (1), see Attaching and Removing the collection container.

Storage

Always store the device and accessories:

  • clean
  • dry
  • protected against dust
  • out of the reach of children

Notes

  • Remove the battery from the device before storing the device (see the separate operating instructions for the bat-tery and charger).
  • The storage temperature for the re-chargeable battery and appliance is between 0–45 °C. Avoid extreme cold or heat during storage, so that the bat-tery does not lose performance.
  • The collection container (1) is not suitable for storing liquids. Empty the collection container after wet vacuuming.

Assembling the charging station

  • The charging station (25) can also be used as a wall bracket for space-saving storage.
  • WARNING! Contact with electrical cables can lead to electric shock and fire. Contact with a gas line can result in an explosion.
  • Damage to a water pipe can lead to property damage and electric shock. When drilling, be careful not to damage any supply lines.
  • Use suitable search devices to find these or consult an installation plan for guidance.

Tools and aids required

  • Drill, 6 mm (not included)
  • Phillips screwdriver (not included)
  • Pencil (not included)
  • 2× Dowel, 6 mm
  • 2× Screw

Procedure (Fig. C)

  1. Mark two suitable places on a wall with a pencil. Use the charging station (25) to help you.
  2. Drill the marked holes with a drill.
  3. Insert the dowels (30) into the holes and tighten the screws (31) with a screwdriver. Leave the screw heads protruding at a distance of approx. 10 mm from the wall.
  4. Insert the two holders (28, 26) into the side of the charging station (25).
  5. You can now position the charging station (25) with the keyholes (29) on the screws (31) and pull it down as far as it will go.

Using the charging station (Fig. C)

  1. Insert the nozzles (11-14) into the holder (26) and the motorized brush attachment (15) into the holder (28).
  2. Place the appliance in the charging station (1) with the collection container (25) pointing upwards.
  3. Pull the charger (16) through the cable opening (27). For the correct connection, refer to Charging the battery,

Disposal/ environmental protection

  • Remove the battery from the device and recycle the device, battery, accessories, and packaging in an environmentally friendly manner.
  • Waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) must not be disposed of with domestic waste.
  • The symbol of the crossed-out wheeled bin means that this product must not be disposed of as unsorted municipal waste at the end of its useful life.

Directive 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic equip-ment:

  • Consumers are legally obliged to recycle electrical and electronic equipment in an environmentally sound manner at the end of its life. In this way, environmentally friendly and resource-saving recycling is ensured.
  • Depending on the implementation of national law, you may have the following options.

Service Guarantee

Dear Customer,

  • This product is provided with a 3-year guarantee from the date of purchase.
  • In case of defects, you have statutory rights against the seller of the product. These statutory rights are not restricted by our guarantee presented below.

Terms of Guarantee

  • The guarantee period begins on the date of purchase. Please retain the original re-ceipt. This document is required as proof of purchase.
  • If a material or manufacturing defect occurs within three years of the date of purchase of this product, we will repair or replace – at our choice – the product for you free of charge.
  • This guarantee requires the defective product and proof of purchase to be presented within three years with a brief written description of what constitutes the defect and when it occurred.
  • If the defect is covered by our guarantee, you will receive either the repaired product or a new product. No new guarantee period begins on repair or replace-ment of the product.

Guarantee Period and Statutory Claims for Defects

  • The guarantee period is not extended by the guarantee service. This also applies to replaced or repaired parts.
  • Any damages and defects that were already present at the time of purchase must be reported imme-diately after unpacking.
  • Repairs arising after the expiry of the guarantee period are chargeable.

Guarantee Cover

  • The product has been carefully produced under strict quality guidelines and conscientiously checked before delivery.
  • The guarantee applies to all material and manufacturing defects.
  • This guarantee does not extend to cover product parts that are subject to normal wear and may therefore be considered as wearing parts (e.g. Battery capacity) or to cover damage to breakable parts.
  • This guarantee shall be invalid if the product has been damaged, used incor-rectly, or not maintained. Precise adherence to all of the instructions specified in the operating manual is required for proper use of the product.
  • Intended uses and actions against which the operating manual advises or warns must be categorically avoided.
  • The product is designed only for private and not commercial use. The guarantee will be invalidated in case of misuse or improper handling, use of force, or interventions not undertaken by our authorized service branch.

Processing in Case of Guarantee

  • To ensure efficient handling of your query, please follow the directions below.
  • Please have the receipt and identification number (IAN 466987_2310) ready as proof of purchase for all inquiries.
  • Please find the item number on the rat-ing plate.
  • Should functional errors or other de-fects occur, please initially contact the service department specified below by telephone or by e-mail. You will then receive further information on the processing of your complaint.
  • After consultation with our customer service, a product recorded as defect-ive can be sent postage paid to the service address communicated to you, with the proof of purchase (receipt) and specification of what constitutes the defect and when it occurred.
  • In or-der to avoid acceptance problems and additional costs, please be sure to use only the address communicated to you. Ensure that the consignment is not sent carriage forward or by bulky goods, express or other special freight.
  • Please send the appliance inc. all accessories supplied at the time of purchase and ensure adequate, safe transport pack-aging.

Repair service

  • For repairs that are not covered by warranty, contact the service center.
  • They will gladly create a cost estimate for you.
  • We can only work on devices that are sent in properly packed and with postage paid.
  • Note: Please send your device cleaned and with an indication of the defect to the address named for the service center.
  • The following are not accepted: devices sent in without prepaid postage, sent as bulky goods, sent as an Express shipment, or devices sent as any other form of special freight.
  • We will dispose of defective devices you ship to us free of charge.
