Introduction
Congratulations on the purchase of your new appliance.
You have selected a high-quality product. The operating instructions are part of this product. They contain important information about safety, usage and disposal. Before using the product, please familiarise yourself with all operating and safety instructions. Use the product only as described and for the range of applications specified. Please also pass these operating instructions on to any future owner.
Intended use
This appliance is intended exclusively for chopping and puréeing food. It is
intended exclusively for use in domestic households. The appliance is not
intended for commercial use.
The appliance is not suitable for chopping very hard food products, such as
frozen foods or nuts.

Danger if not used as intended!
Failure to use the appliance for its intended purpose and/or any other type of
use can be hazardous.
- Use the appliance only for its intended purpose.
- Observe the procedures described in these operating instructions.
NOTE
- Claims of any kind for damage resulting from misuse, incompetent repairs, unauthorised modification or the use of unauthorised spare parts will not be accepted. The risk shall be borne solely by the user.
Package contents
The appliance is supplied with the following components as standard:
- Hand blender
- Operating instructions
- Remove all parts of the appliance and the operating instructions from the box.
- Remove all packaging material.
- Clean all parts of the appliance as described in the section “Cleaning”.
NOTE
- Check the package for completeness and signs of visible damage.
- If the delivery is incomplete or damage has occurred as a result of defective packaging or during transport, contact the Service hotline (see section Service).
Disposal of the packaging
The packaging materials have been selected for their environmental friendliness and ease of disposal and are therefore recyclable. Dispose of packaging materials that are no longer needed in accordance with applicable local regulations.
Dispose of the packaging in an environmentally friendly manner. Note the
labelling on the packaging and separate the packaging material components for
disposal, if necessary. The packaging material is labelled with abbreviations
(a) and numbers (b) with the following meanings: 1–7: plastics, 20–22: paper
and cardboard, 80–98: composites.
NOTE
- If possible, keep the original packaging during the warranty period so that the appliance can be properly packed for returning in the event of a warranty claim.

after using the appliance for 1 minute, allow it to cool down for approx. 1

If you exceed this operating time, the appliance can overheat and sustain
damage!
Safety instructions
RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK
- Always connect the appliance to properly installed power sockets that supply a mains power voltage of 220–240 V ~ , 50/60 Hz.
- Unplug the appliance from the power socket in the event of a malfunction, before cleaning the appliance, while the appliance is unsupervised, before disassembling the appliance or prior to cleaning.
- Never immerse the appliance motor unit in liquid and do not allow any liquids to penetrate the motor unit casing.
- Do not expose the appliance to moisture and do not use it outdoors.
- If any liquid gets into the housing, disconnect the appliance from the mains power socket immediately and have it repaired by a qualified technician.
- Always pull on the plug to disconnect the appliance from the mains; never pull on the power cable itself.
- Do not kink or crush the power cable, and route the cable so that it cannot be stepped on or tripped over.
- To avoid potential risks, if the appliance power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its customer service or by a qualified technician.
- This appliance may be used by persons with limited physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, provided that they are under supervision or have been told how to use the appliance safely and are aware of the potential risks.
- The appliance and its connecting cable must be kept away from children.
- Do not attempt to open the motor unit housing. This can lead to safety risks and also invalidates the warranty.

- Before changing any accessories or additional parts that move during operation, the appliance must be switched off and disconnected from mains power.
- This appliance may not be used by children.
- Children must not play with the appliance.
- The blade is extremely sharp! Handle it with great care at all times. There is a risk of injury!
- Be very careful when cleaning the appliance and, in particular, the blender.
- Never insert your hand or fingers into the rotating blade.
- Never insert objects into the rotating blade.
- Keep clothes and long hair away from the rotating blade.
- Wait until the blade has stopped rotating before removing the blender from the motor unit.
- Wait until the blade has stopped rotating before removing the blender from the food.
- Risk of injury if appliance is used improperly.
NOTE
No user action is required to switch the product between 50 and 60 Hz. The
product adapts automatically to either 50 or 60 Hz.
Assembly

- Do not insert the plug into the mains power socket until the appliance is fully assembled.’

- Before first use, clean all parts as described in the chapter “Cleaning”

- The blade 5 is extremely sharp! Handle it with great care at all times.
- Place the blender 4 onto the motor unit 3 so that the arrow S points at the symbol. Rotate the blender 4 towards the symbol until it clicks into place.
Operation
You can use the blender 4 to make sauces, soups or dips. We recommend that you
operate the hand blender for max. 1 minute at any one time and then let it
cool off for about 1 minute.
WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!
- The foods being processed must not be too hot! Splashing contents could scald the user.
CAUTION – PROPERTY DAMAGE!
- Do not attempt to process hard foods with the appliance. This will cause irreparable damage to the appliance!
Once you have assembled the appliance:

Insert the power plug into the mains power socket.
-
Slide the blender 4 vertically into the food you wish to purée.

Hold the switch 1 to process the food at a normal speed.
-
Hold the TURBO switch 2 to process the food at a high speed.
NOTE- Use the normal speed for soft food and the turbo speed for firmer food.

Once you are done processing, simply release the pressed speed control button 1/2. Remove the blender 4 as soon as the blade 5 stops rotating.
The following table serves as a guide. Use the recommended processing times so
that the appliance does not overheat. If the ingredients are not cooked to
your satisfaction after the recommended time, wait until the motor has cooled
down before continuing to use the appliance.
We recommend letting the appliance cool down for approx. 1 minute after 1
minute of operation.

NOTE
If you hear unusual noises during operation, e.g. squeaking or similar,
apply a small amount of neutral cooking oil to the drive shaft of the blender
4.
Cleaning
WARNING – RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK!
- Always remove the plug from the mains power socket before cleaning the appliance.
- When cleaning, you must never immerse the motor unit 3 in water or hold it under running water.
WARNING – RISK OF INJURY!
- The blade 5 is extremely sharp! Handle it with great care at all times.
CAUTION – PROPERTY DAMAGE!
- Do not use aggressive, chemical or abrasive cleaning agents! They could irreparably damage the surface!
NOTE
- We recommend that you clean the appliance immediately after using it to prevent food residue from drying and becoming stuck.

Remove the power plug from the socket.

Remove the blender 4 from the motor unit 3. To do this, rotate the blender 4 towards the symbol and pull it off.

Clean the motor unit 3 with a moist cloth.
Ensure that water does not enter the openings of the motor unit 3.
For stubborn dirt, add a little mild detergent to the cloth. Wipe off any detergent residue with a damp cloth. -
Thoroughly clean the blender 4 in soapy water, then rinse off the soap with clear water.

Dry everything thoroughly and ensure that the appliance is completely dry before using it again.
Storage
- Clean the appliance as described in the section “Cleaning”.
- Store the cleaned appliance in a clean, dust-free and dry location.
Troubleshooting

Disposal of the appliance
The adjacent symbol of a crossed-out dustbin means that this appliance is subject to Directive 2012/19/EU. This directive states that this appliance may not be disposed of in the normal household waste at the end of its useful life, but must be taken to specially set-up collection locations, recycling depots or disposal companies.
The disposal is free of charge for the user. Protect the environment and dispose of this appliance properly.
If your old appliance has stored any personal data, you are responsible for deleting it yourself before returning it.
Your local community or municipal authorities can provide information on how to dispose of the worn-out product.
The product and its packaging are recyclable.
They are subject to an extended manufacturer responsibility and will be
collected separately.

Dear Customer,
This appliance has a 3-year warranty valid from the date of purchase. If this
product has any faults, you, the buyer, have certain statutory rights. Your
statutory rights are not restricted in any way by the warranty described
below.
Warranty conditions
The warranty period starts on the date of purchase. Please keep your receipt in a safe place. This will be required as proof of purchase.
If any material or manufacturing fault occurs within three years of the date of purchase of the product, we will either repair or replace the product for you or refund the purchase price (at our discretion). This warranty service requires that you present the defective appliance and the proof of purchase (receipt) within the three-year warranty period, along with a brief written description of the fault and of when it occurred.
If the defect is covered by the warranty, your product will either be repaired or replaced by us. The repair or replacement of a product does not signify the beginning of a new warranty period.
Warranty period and statutory claims for defects The warranty period is not prolonged by repairs effected under the warranty.
This also applies to replaced and repaired components. Any damage and defects present at the time of purchase must be reported immediately after unpacking. Repairs carried out after expiry of the warranty period shall be subject to a fee.
Scope of the warranty
This appliance has been manufactured in accordance with strict quality guidelines and inspected meticulously prior to delivery. The warranty covers material faults or production faults. The warranty does not extend to product parts subject to normal wear and tear or to fragile parts which could be considered as consumable parts such as switches, batteries or parts made of glass.
The warranty does not apply if the product has been damaged, improperly used or improperly maintained. The directions in the operating instructions for the product regarding proper use of the product are to be strictly followed. Uses and actions that are discouraged in the operating instructions or which are warned against must be avoided.
This product is intended solely for private use and not for commercial purposes. The warranty shall be deemed void in cases of misuse or improper handling, use of force and modifications / repairs which have not been carried out by one of our authorised Service centres.
Warranty claim procedure
To ensure quick processing of your case, please observe the following instructions:
- Please have the till receipt and the item number (IAN) 400106_2204 available as proof of purchase.
- You will find the item number on the type plate on the product, an engraving on the product, on the front page of the operating instructions (below left) or on the sticker on the rear or bottom of the product.
- If functional or other defects occur, please contact the service department listed either by telephone or by e-mail.
- You can return a defective product to us free of charge to the service address that will be provided to you. Ensure that you enclose the proof of purchase (till receipt) and information about what the defect is and when it occurred.
