General information
- Before fitting, check whether the door is suitable for fitting.
- Make sure that the wall is suitable for fitting the external door.
- Follow the applicable building regulations.
- Protect the structural gap on the weather side against penetrating moisture in a proper manner.
Based on construction measures, such as protected fitting positions, walkway, canopy and / or side fascia, the requirements profile for the door may change.
Notes on fire protection, smoke protection
-
Use of a hold-open device is not permitted.
-
When fitting an overhead door closer, please note the information from the manufacturer. We recommend fitting on the inside.
-
In conjunction with a retractable bottom seal, use a protruding threshold, see illustrated section, item 4.3.
-
Observe Table 2 of the instructions for planning, fitting, operating and maintenance M2.1 to M2.5.
When fitting to concrete walls, brickwork and gas concrete. -
Do not use a hinged door operator.
-
Adverse weather effects such as solar radiation can cause temporary deformation of the door leaf.
Dark paints increase this effect, which is no cause for complaint. We recommend light, reflective paints. -
Avoid using doors with glazing, ventilation grilles and top part in areas subject directly to adverse effects of the weather.
Notes on multi-purpose doors
- For doors without acoustic insulation and burglar protection, you do not necessarily have to backfill the frames. We do recommend backfilling them, however.
- Hold-open devices are possible. Observe the information from the system manufacturer.
