Product Usage Instructions:

Step 1: Unpack and Check Items

Ensure all items are present as shown in the manual.

Step 2: Activation

Complete the activation process before using the unit. Refer to
the Activation Guide included.

Step 3: Mounting

Unlock and open the faceplate for mounting. Use the recommended
gooseneck pedestal and provided hardware. Ensure proper
installation to avoid signal issues.

Step 4: Connecting Wires

Feed wires through the back of the unit and connect as shown
with the included screwdriver. Follow the gate/door opener manual
for accurate connections.

Step 5: Power Supply

When connecting the power supply, match positive to positive and
negative to negative to prevent damage. Use 18-gauge stranded wire
for connections.

Q: What should I do if the unit is not working after

installation?

A: Ensure the activation process is completed as mentioned in
the manual. If issues persist, contact Summit Control for
assistance.

Q: Can I use alternate mounting methods?

A: Alternate mounting is possible, but ensure to purchase and
install the 4G LTE Antenna Extension Kit to maintain signal
strength.

Unlock and open unit faceplate for mounting, wiring, and setup.

r IMPORTANT r
We recommend mounting the unit on a gooseneck pedestal using the included
mounting hardware.
If using alternate mounting, the 4G LTE Antenna Extension Kit
(Model 16-ANTX-1) should be purchased and installed.
Failure to do so may result in NO SIGNAL!

CAUTION

Use all four carriage bolts when mounting the unit to a pedestal.
Leave the “hockey puck” antenna in place even if using an antenna extension.
Seal all openings created in the enclosure.
Failure to follow these instructions can damage the unit!

An emergency egress or primary entry mechanism SHOULD ALWAYS BE USED! (transmitter, fire box, mechanical release)

CAUTION

When connecting the power supply, remember to connect positive to positive and negative to negative to avoid damage.

Reversing polarity can damage the unit and void the warranty!

We recommend using 18-gauge stranded wire for all connections.

Ascent terminals can be unplugged to make wire connections easier.

Relay B can be connected in same manner.

The GROUND terminal is optional unless required by local code(s). If using, please connect to earth ground or equivalent.
If plugging into duplex outlet, remove screw from outlet plate, and secure with included screw.

Make sure the gate path is clear before completing Step 5!

Key in temporary code 2012 on
keypad and confirm gate opens. If it

does, close and lock unit faceplate.

Adding codes is done in online dashboard and CANNOT be done using keypad on unit!

Now follow the Activation Guide to create an account and begin using Ascent.

A Wiegand Device
Feed wires through back of unit, and connect as shown using included screwdriver.
These terminals are used to connect a Wiegand device such as a card reader or Wiegand keypad.
Either set of Wiegand terminals can be used for wiring and then configured in the online dashboard.

CAUTION
Disconnect power to the Ascent unit before connecting Wiegand devices.
Failure to disconnect power can damage the unit!
