Product Usage Instructions
Preparation:
1. Ensure the substrate is clean, dry, and free from any
debris.
2. Check that the flooring planks are within the approved
dimensions.
Application:
1. Apply the adhesive evenly on the substrate using a
recommended trowel size.
2. Place the engineered wood planks or cork underlayment onto
the adhesive, following the manufacturer’s guidelines for
alignment.
3. Press down firmly on each plank to ensure proper
adhesion.
Curing:
Allow the adhesive to cure as per the manufacturer’s
instructions before walking on or applying any load on the
flooring.

1. DESCRIPTION ROBERTS® 1487 ENGINEERED+ Wood Flooring adhesive is an easy to
trowel advanced acrylic adhesive, designed for the installation of pre-
finished engineered wood flooring. ROBERTS 1487 offers early-grab, long-term
bond performance while generating elongation characteristics necessary to
allow expansion and contraction. Enviro-friendly, low VOC (2 g/L) and solvent-
free.

Curing Time:
8 to 10 hours. Environmental factors and substrate porosity effect cure rate. Restrict foot traffic and moving of heavy objects for 24 hours to allow adhesive to cure properly. Premature traffic can cause installation failure.

Installation
Maintain a consistent temperature (between 65-85°F) and maximum ambient RH of
65% for 48 hours before, during and after installation. Follow all industry
standards and floor covering manufacturer’s recommendations for floor
flatness, acclimation and application of all flooring materials. Pour adhesive
directly from the pail to the substrate as needed. Use appropriate trowel size
to apply the adhesive. Adhesive ridges should be well defined, consistent and
achieve full coverage of the substrate. Observe the Open Time. Do not allow
the adhesive to skin over. Apply flooring per manufacturer’s specific
guidelines. Press the board firmly into the adhesive. Lift a board
periodically to ensure 100% transfer of adhesive has occurred to promote a
void-free bond. Roll flooring installation per manufacturer’s recommendation
Clean-up Fresh adhesive warm, soapy water on a clean cloth.
Dried adhesive mineral spirits sparingly on a clean, cotton cloth.
DO NOT POUR DIRECTLY ONTO FLOORING.

3. INSTRUCTIONS
Limitations · This product is not recommended for solid wood flooring, bamboo
flooring or
exotic wood flooring species
· Use for engineered plank greater than 5″ wide only if flooring manufacturer
does not require moisture-cured urethane or silane-type adhesives
· On grade and above grade installation only
· Engineered wood planks greater than 5″ wide must be installed above grade on
wood substrate
· Moisture tolerance over concrete slab up to 3lbs MVER / 75% RH
· Concrete slab pH must not exceed 9
Preparation Subfloors must be structurally sound, dry, smooth, flat (3/16″
within 10′), level and free of excess moisture/alkali and all contaminants
(oil, debris, paint, sealers, adhesive residue, etc.) that may inhibit the
bond of the adhesive or the performance of the flooring and its installation.
All substrate cracks, chips, holes, joints, high spots and irregularities must
be adequately repaired. Patching compounds must be suitable for the use
application, cement-based and polymermodified, and applied according to the
manufacturer’s instructions.
