Product usage

Before first use

  • Fill the kettle with fresh water up to the MAX mark, then boil the water 2 or 3 times. Discard the water after each cycle. This operation will eliminate any residue created during the manufacturing process.
  • Due to the manufacturing process, the unit may emit a faint burning smell when first turned on. This is completely normal and does not indicate the presence of a manufacturing defect or that the product is dangerous.
  • Clean the unit ( → Cleaning and maintenance).

Use

  • Remove the power cable from its storage space and unwind it.
  • Remove the kettle from the base.
  • To open the lid: press the release button.
  • Fill the kettle with water.
  • Do not exceed the MAX mark and do not fill it below the MIN mark.
  • To close the lid: press down on the lid.
  • Place the base on a flat surface.
  • Place the water-filled kettle on the base.
  • Plug the power cable into a mains socket.
  • Set the power button to I. The power indicator will light up. The kettle will begin to boil the water.
  • The kettle turns off automatically once the water starts to boil. The power indicator will turn off.
  • Unplug the power plug from the mains socket.

Note : The boiling process can be stopped manually at any time by switching the I/O power switch to O.

CAUTION

  • Do not open the lid when steam is escaping from the spout.
  • Exercise extreme caution when moving a unit containing hot water.

Safety

  • The kettle is fitted with a safety device to prevent overheating. This overheating protection device shuts down the unit if the water tank is empty or there is not enough water in it.
  • If the safety device is triggered, remove the plug from the mains socket. Always make sure there is enough water in the tank. Activating the safety device repeatedly may reduce the kettle’s service life.

WARNING

  • Before cleaning or maintaining the unit, make sure that it has been switched off and unplugged from the mains socket. Then let it cool completely.
  • Never immerse the unit in water or any other liquid.
  • Clean the unit with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Make sure that no moisture gets inside the unit while cleaning it.

  • Reposition the filter by pressing down to secure it in the spout. It will only fit one way around.

Descaling

CAUTION
Descale the kettle regularly. Descaling intervals depend primarily on the hardness of the water and the frequency of use. Only use commercially- available descaling agents and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

  • Fill the tank with water up to the MAX mark on the water level gauge, then add the descaler.
  • Start the boiling process.
  • After boiling, discard the water and descaler solution.
