Product Usage Instructions
Getting Started
Connect the camera to power using either household electrical power or the solar panel.
Option 1: Household Electrical Power
- Plug the power cord into the camera’s USB-C charging port.
- Connect the other end to a household electrical outlet with an output of 5V, 1A.
- Turn the camera switch to ON to start the camera.
Option 2: Solar Panel
- Insert the USB-C port of the solar panel power output cable into the camera’s charging port.
- Ensure the solar panel receives ample sunlight for proper charging.
- Turn the camera switch to ON to start the camera.
Charging the Battery
For first-time use, fully charge the battery for more than 12 hours with the camera switch turned OFF.
Installing the Camera
- Select a suitable wall location for installation.
- Affix the installation sticker and mount the camera wall base plate.
- Align and install the camera on the base plate, adjusting the angle as needed.
Installing the Solar Panel
- Install the solar panel bracket base in the appropriate position.
- Attach the solar panel bracket and tighten it securely.
- Fix the solar panel on the bracket and adjust its angle for optimal sunlight exposure.
Pairing Your Camera
- Connect the power adapter, turn on the camera, and wait for the blue indicator light.
- Open the YI Home App, select your device or scan the camera’s QR code.
- Enter your Wi-Fi network password and scan the generated QR code with your camera to complete pairing.

- Q: How do I reset my camera?
- A: To reset your camera, locate the reset button on the device and press it for a few seconds until you hear a confirmation sound. This will restore the camera to its default settings.

Connect the camera to power

Option 1:
Use the household electrical power to power the camera. As shown in Figure 1 , plug the power cord into the camera’s USB-C charging port, and then connect the other end to a household electrical outlet.
Note: The output specifications of the power converter must be 5V, 1A. If you need to use the camera, as shown in Figure 2 , turn the camera switch to ON to start the camera. -
Option 2:
Use the solar panel to power the camera. As shown in Figure 3 , insert the USB-C port of the solar panel power output cable into the camera’s charging port to connect the camera to power.
Note: Please ensure that the solar panel is installed in a location where it can receive ample sunlight for a long period and is in normal working condition. If you need to use the camera,as shown in Figure 2 , turn the camera switch to ON to start the camera.

Charge the battery
- When using the camera for the first time, it is recommended to fully charge the battery before use. While charging, please ensure that the camera switch is turned OFF. It is recommended to charge the battery for more than 12 hours.
Normal charging time is about 10 – 12 hours.

Connect the camera to power

Step 1:
As shown in the picture, select a suitable installation location on the wall, affix the installation sticker (pay attention to the direction), and then install the camera wall mounting base plate on the wall. -
Step 2:
As shown in the picture, align the camera with the wall-mounting base plate slot, push the camera downward, and install it on the wall-mounting base plate. -
Step 3:
Adjust the camera angle and complete the camera installation.

Install the solar panel

Step 1:
Install the solar panel bracket base in the appropriate position as shown in the picture. -
Step 2:
Install the solar panel bracket on the bracket base in the order shown in the picture, and tighten it. -
Step 3:
Fix the solar panel on the bracket and adjust the angle of the solar panel.

Pairing your camera

Step 1
Connect the power adapter to an outlet and turn the switch on to activate the camera. The camera indicator will flash blue and you will hear the introductory message “Welcome to YI home”, followed by “Waiting to connect”.
Note: To install a camera that was previously installed on a different network or if you change your password, you must reset your camera.
Note: The camera and mobile phone should be as close as possible within the coverage of the Wi-Fi signal during the pairing process. -
Step 2
Log into the YI Home App, you can tap the “+” sign to select your device or scan the camera’s QR code with your phone. -
Step 3
Enter the password of the same Wi-Fi network that is connected to your phone, then use the YI 2K Pan-Tilt Outdoor Solar Camera to scan the QR code that will be generated. -
Step 4
Tap “Next Step”. You will hear “Pairing is successful” and then the YI 2K Pan- Tilt Outdoor Solar Camera is ready to use.
