The YI camera can track up to 355-degree horizontal and vertical rotation ranges. IR lights provide increased night vision with a 140° wide-angle lens, high definition 1080p HD, and enhanced night vision capabilities. And this is equipped with a built-in a good microphone and speaker that allows you to talk with your family. It also works with Google assistant and  Amazo Alexa.

Receive smarter and quicker person, motion, or sound detection notifications thanks to the power of edge computing. Using the simple and intuitive YI Home App, you can view live feeds from up to 9 cameras. You can also compress a video up to 6 hours a fun clip between 5-30 seconds. • Does it use an sd card?
  Yes, it uses an SD card. The update is great and the SD footage is still very much accessible, some people just haven’t figured it out yet.

• Hi, is there any size limit for micro SD cards on these cams?
  32 GB max for the SD card.

• Will this work with a 5g android phone? thank you.
  Yep. I have a galaxy S20 FE 5g and use it with the Yi app.

• Can this be used with an Amazon fire tablet?
  Should be able to use it on any smartphone or tablet that is capable of downloading the camera’s app and most importantly having Wi-Fi.

• Can it be operated by two mobile devices at a time?
  Yes, as long as the camera is paired to the same account, customers can use the camera using multiple devices.

• Does it record if there is no motion or will it only record if there is motion or sound?
  Only records with the motion you can manually record if you want. One of the available icons is video recording, also snapshot.

• Can this product take a micro sdxc memory card?
  It only uses a micro sim card

• Will this allow me to pan an area on my own, from my phone rather than just automatically?
  Yes – I have an iPhone and using the YI Home app (available on the App Store) you can easily use your touch screen to pan the camera. When you open the app, at the bottom is an icon for “controls.” Just tap that and the controls will appear on the screen. Then just move the center “button” in the direction you want, it’s easy

• Can I just use the sd card instead of iCloud?
  Yes, I do. I have 3 cameras and no cloud service. Works great. Gives you long playback if you want it.

• Does this camera scan the room automatically?
  Yes you can set it up like that but your phone will constantly alert you over and over,I have my camera set on low motion and alerts are off until I leave home.

• Is it possible to turn off motion detection? I want this on 24/7.
  Yes. Go to setting and then settings again and turn it off if you did turn it in. Most of the time it is preset not to record detection unless you want it to when you first purchase.

• Is this camera viewable on the “cam view app”?
  Unfortunately, this camera doesn’t work with the cam view app. it only works with the Yi Home app and Kami Home app. It can also work with Alexa and Google Home.

• Can this can be mounted upside-down, inverting the image like the older Yi Dome Camera?
  Yes you can.

• How to set a bookmark like the yi home dome camera?
  In the app go to live view move the camera to where you want to bookmark tap the bookmark icon

• How does it connect to my smartphone?
  Very easily.

• Power over ethernet capable?
  Strictly wireless internet connection.

• Does work with Alexa?? or echo show?
  Yes, this Yi Dome Guard camera works with Alexa Echo Show.

• Does the camera record constantly or only with motion?
  Yes if you purchase a Micro Sim card or a plan through the company but for the most part it will alert you over sound motion people and etc. also records small clips once it has detected something so you can watch the videos back and works very very well but only with a good Wi-Fi connection. I don’t use the company plans or anything like that I use the free service through my Wi- Fi and it has not missed a beat since I’ve purchased it. Hope this helps.

  There is a power cord.

• Is this brand compatible with xfinity??
  Yes. Standard Wifi connection via 2.4 GHz network

• I own an earlier version of these cameras and need to ad more can I still have them all on the same Yi app?
  Yes.

• Can this be used in Mexico with a Mexican internet provider? such as totalplay or izzi?
  Yes, This camera has global English firmware and can work in any country.

• Do these come with a way to mount them on the wall?
  yes, there is a mounting disk that attaches to the bottom of the camera.

• Can it detect motion and sound and send you an alert?
  Yes, if you set it to detect motion and sounds,, then it will do that. It also has a designated box you can set to detect motion and it will start recording. If you use a card, it will record only 6 sec. If you want more of the whole video, you need to subscribe to a monthly or yearly plan.

• Does the camera can keep recording videos that overwrite the oldest videos after the SD card is full?
  Yes, All Yi cameras have the capability to over-write old videos when the micro-SD card is full.
