Product Usage Instructions
Safety Precautions
Read and understand the safety precautions provided in the manual to ensure
safe operation of the equipment.
Function and Purpose
The equipment is designed for toasting bread products in commercial
foodservice operations only. Do not use for household, industrial, or
laboratory purposes.
Clearance and Environment Requirements
Avoid placing the toaster on combustible surfaces or near heat-producing
appliances. Ensure proper clearance to prevent hazards.
Before First Use
- Clean the toaster as per the Daily Cleaning instructions.
- Ensure the feed ramp is in the up position.

Operation Preheat
- Plug the toaster into a grounded electrical outlet matching the rated voltage.
- Turn the power knob to full power (I).
- Adjust the conveyor speed control knob to 7.
- Wait for 5 minutes for the toaster to preheat.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
To ensure safe operation, read the following statements and understand their meaning. This manual contains the safety precautions described below. Please read carefully.
- Warning is used to indicate the presence of a hazard that will or may result in personal injury or death.
- Caution is used to indicate the presence of a hazard that will or may result in minor or major personal injury if caution is not observed.
- NOTE: Notices are used to record information that is important but not related to a hazard.
To reduce the risk of injury or damage to equipment
- Plug only into a grounded electrical outlet corresponding to the voltage on the rating plate.
- Use this equipment in a flat and level position.
- Unplug the appliance and let it cool before cleaning or moving it. Equipment remains hot after being turned off.
- Do not touch during operation.
- Remove when not in use.
- Keep equipment and power cords away from open flames, electric burners or high heat.
- Do not operate without supervision.
- Closely monitor equipment operating in public areas and/or around children.
- Do not operate if the equipment is damaged or malfunctioning in any way.
FUNCTIONS AND PURPOSES
This equipment is intended for baking products. It is intended for use in commercial food service operations. Not intended for household, industrial or laboratory use. Model JT1H toaster is not recommended for baking standard size bread.

Hourly slices based on maximum conveyor speed. The speed of the conveyor determines the toasting time and affects the color and texture of the toasted bread. Results may vary based on bread type, color and texture selection.
CLEARANCE AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Do not place on or near walls, partitions or kitchen furniture unless they are made of non-combustible materials or lined with non-combustible heat insulating materials. The toaster should not be used near or under curtains and other flammable materials. Do not place the toaster next to appliances that generate heat.
Before First Use
- Clean the toaster. See “Daily Cleaning” on page 2.
- Place the feed ramp in the up position. It is delivered folded in a crumb tray.

OPERATION
CAUTION: Burn Hazard
Do not touch the device while it is heating or operating.
Hot surfaces can burn the skin.
NOTE: the crumb tray must be installed in the toaster during operation. Failure to install the crumb tray will cause the toaster to overheat.
Preheat

Plug the toaster into a grounded electrical outlet that matches the rating on the name plate found on the back of the toaster.
NOTE: Using a voltage other than the nameplate rated voltage will cause damage to the unit. wrong voltage, modification to the power cable or electrical components can damage the unit and it will be completely void. -
Turn the power switch to the full power position (I).

Set the conveyor speed control knob to 7.

Wait 5 minutes for the toaster to preheat.
Test
- Adjust settings for toast. Test the setting by placing a sample of bread items to be baked into the feed ramp.

Toast
- Adjust conveyor speed if necessary.
- Toast very lightly : Turn the speed control knob to a lower number to reduce the speed and darken.
- Too dark toast : Turn the speed control knob to a higher number to increase the speed control and lighten the toast.
- For the best performance do not overload the toaster. Wait a few seconds before loading the second row of bread into the toaster.
If Bread Becomes Stuck
- Turn the power switch to the OFF (O) position and remove the toaster.
- Come on, the toaster is finished.
- Use tongs to remove the baked goods. Be careful not to hit the glass heating elements above and below the conveyor.
CLEANING
WARNING: Electric Shock Hazard
Do not spray water or cleaning products. The liquid may come into contact with
electrical components and cause a short circuit or electric shock.
CAUTION: Burn Hazard
Allow equipment to cool before moving or cleaning.
NOTE: Do not use abrasive materials, scratching cleansers or scouring
pads to clean the exterior of the equipment. This can damage the finish.
NOTE: The heating element does not need to be cleaned. Crumbs and food
debris will burn. Over time, the heating element may appear chalky, but this
will not affect its performance.
Daily Cleaning
- Before turning off the equipment and with the conveyor rotating, watch the conveyor belt for food debris.
- When the food debris reaches the front of the conveyor, turn the power button to the OFF position.
- Remove the device.
- Let the equipment cool completely.
- When the equipment is cool, use a brush or scrub pad to remove food debris.
- To clean the exterior, use a soft cloth dipped in hot soapy water to wipe the exterior air intake and fan under the appliance. If necessary, wipe the fan intake area with degreaser to prevent long-term accumulation.
- Empty and clean the crumb tray(s).

7. Press the reset button, located below the back panel. You should hear and feel the reset button. The toaster should start operating.
8. If the problem persists call Vollrath Technical Services.
Check the fan blades to see if they are dirty.1. Turn the power switch to the OFF (O) position.
2. Remove the toaster.
3. Wait 30 minutes to cool the toaster.
4. Clean the fan blades.
5. Plug in the toaster.
6. Turn the power switch to the ON (|) position.
7. Press the reset button.
8. If the problem persists call Vollrath Technical Services.
The toaster is heating up and the conveyor belt is not moving.| There may be a

SERVICE AND REPAIRS
While under warranty, repairs are available for this product through our factory service. To start the process:
- Contact Vollrath Technical Services at 1- 800-309-2250 . Please have the item number, model number and serial number ready. You can find this information on the nameplate located on the side or back of the equipment. Also provide proof of purchase showing the date the equipment was purchased.
- A technical service representative will assist with troubleshooting over the phone.
- If a representative determines the problem requires professional service, they will help you find an authorized service center.
- Contact an authorized service center and transport the equipment to an authorized service center. Vollrath will cover the cost of repairing and/or replacing defective parts during the warranty period of the equipment. The cost of transporting the equipment to and from the service center is not covered by the warranty.
WARRANTY
WARRANTY STATEMENT FOR VOLLRATH CO. LLC
The Vollrath Company LLC warrants products manufactured or distributed
against defects in materials and workmanship as specifically described in the
full warranty statement. In all cases, the warranty runs from the date of the
original purchase by the last user found on the receipt. Any damage from
improper use, abuse, modification or damage due to improper packaging during
return shipment for warranty repair will not be covered under warranty.
The warranty does not apply to products purchased for personal, family or
household use, and The Vollrath Company LLC makes no written warranties to
purchasers for such use.
Heating Tube: The warranty period is 1 year, including labor when
carried out in an authorized service center. Damage to the heating tube glass
is not covered by this warranty. The customer is responsible for the cost of
transporting the product to an authorized service center.
Parts Guaranteed: The warranty period is 2 years parts, 1 year labor. For
