Camera Mounting & Power

Universal Camera Mountin g

  1. Remove the 4 Allen screws that are located on the sides of the camera. Then remove the camera mounting bracket and visor.
  2. Find an appropriate place to mount the backup camera. Line up the foot bracket to ensure that there is enough space to attach the camera to the body.
  3. Attach the mounting foot using either self-tapping screws or a bolt and nut.
  4. Use a 1” hole saw to drill a hole for the camera harness.
  5. Feed the harness through the drilled hole, and fit the grommet to the inside of the hole. Depending on the installation, the grommet may not be watertight. Use of silicone or other sealing agents is always recommended.
  6. Reattach the camera and visor to the mounting bracket. Install so the microphone is on the right when facing you to install upright.

Universal Camera Power Connection

  1. The camera will be powered via a 4-pin Aviator harness. Connect the camera to the harness to draw the necessary power and video signal.

Camera Settings

  1. On the end of the camera connector, there are a WHITE and a GREEN loop wire.
  2. GREEN turns on or off parking lines.
    • Unplug the loop cap to enable parking lines.
  3. WHITE turns on or off the mirrored image.
    • Unplug the loop cap to unmirror the image
    • If used as a rear-facing camera, plug in the loop cap.
    • If used as a front-facing camera, unplug the loop cap.

Automatic Camera Heating

  1. Below the running temperature of -5ºF (-20ºC), the heating element is automatically turned on.
  2. Above 60ºF (15ºC) the heat element is automatically turned off.
