Safety instructions

The multimeter complies with the IEC61010-1, Cat. III 600V safety requirements for Category III measuring equipment when used in circuits up to 600V AC voltage and pollution level 2. To avoid electric shock or personal injury, strictly observe the following safety instructions:

  • Use extreme caution when measuring voltages above 30V AC (RMS), 42V AC (peak), or 60V DC, it is life-threatening.
  • To avoid electrocution and device damage, do not measure voltages higher than 600V.
  • Use only properly functioning probes and test leads with intact insulation. Keep your fingers behind the safety guards on the probes.
  • Do not use the device in environments with explosive gases, vapors, or high humidity.
  • Connect the neutral/ground wire first, then the phase wire. Disconnect in reverse order.
  • Disconnect the test leads before opening the battery compartment. Do not use the device with the open battery compartment or when it is disassembled.
  • Do not ground yourself when taking measurements. Avoid contact with possible ground sources.
  • Follow local and national safety regulations. Use personal protective equipment when working with exposed live parts.

Data hold

  • During a measurement, press the H (Data hold)/Backlight button (7) to turn on the data hold function and display the current reading.
