Ermenrich Zing ST40 Socket Tester

Please carefully read the safety instructions and the user manual before using this product. Keep away from children. Use the device only as specified in the user manual.

Socket test

Check that the device is clean as well as free of dust, grease, and moisture. Examine all of the socket leads for damage. Test the device on a properly functioning socket before using it for the first time.
Insert the device into a power socket. Compare the LED indicator lights to the LED data table below. Pull the device out of the socket.

If any errors are found, the wiring must be tested.

Voltage measurment

Insert the device into a power socket. The voltage measurement results will appear on the LCD screen (2).

RCD test

The RCD test can only be carried out on a properly functioning socket. Insert the tester into a socket, press the RCD test button (4) (not more than 3 seconds). If the circuit breaker is functioning properly, the power will be cut off. If power is still on, it means that the circuit breaker is not working. The device should be repaired by a professional electrician.

When performing the RCD test, disconnect all appliances from the mains to avoid their damage. When performing RCD tests in public areas, the corresponding authorisation must be obtained beforehand.

The test time should not exceed 5 minutes.

Do not press the RCD test button (4) by accident to avoid triggering the safety cut-off device and unnecessary power loss.

In case the live and ground lines are mixed up and the ground line is not connected, three LED indicators are lighting up (see LIVE/GRD REVERSE; Missing GRD wiring condition in the table above).

The tester cannot distinguish between ground and neutral.

Do not use the device in aggressive atmosphere. Store the device in a dry cool place.
Protect the device from sudden impact and excessive mechanical force. Never attempt to operate a damaged device or a device with damaged electrical parts! Only use accessories and spare parts for this device that comply with the technical specifications. If a part of the device or battery is swallowed, seek medical attention immediately. Keep away from children.
