Note:
- This is a two-wire dimmer and it should be connected as shown under the heading ‘Wiring diagram:
- Installation of the dimmer on a 230V mains should be carried out by a qualified professional, taking into account national regulations. Ensure that the electricity is switched off during all work.
- You cannot connect more then one dimmer parallel to control the same load from two different points.
- Dimmer is not suitable for wound/magnetic or core transformers.
This wireless receiver, compatible with various Open Thread border routers (excluding Google Thread Router Border), utilizes the Matter protocol. It seamlessly connects with any Matter controller featuring a built-in Open Thread border router, Ensure your Matter controller (e.g., Apple HomePod, Google Nest Hub, Amazon device) has a Thread border router built-in to easily integrate this device. Thread, alongside Wi-Fi, is a primary wireless protocol for Matter.
Installation
-
Step 1
Always ensure that the electricity is switched off during installation. Then connect the power wires as shown in the ‘Wiring diagram: -
Step 2
Now install the dimmer in the flush-mounting box using the screws. -
Step 3
Switch the electricity back on. Determine the dimming technology using the slider on the dimmer as shown under ‘Setting trailing edge or leading edge: Turn on the connected lamps using the dimmer shaft. Now set MIN as indicated under ‘Setting min. light level’. -
Step 4
Now link the dimmer to your SMART home system. -
Step 5
Replace the cover frame, central plate and dimmer button on the dimmer.
Setting trailing edge or leading edge
These dimmers feature two dimming techniques: Leading (RL) and Trailing (RC) edge. This can be set with the slide switch on the dimmer. Most dimmable LED lamps work best on Trailing edge (RC), If it is not shown on the lamps, you can try both and choose the technique that works best.
*NIKO plate is not included. Available separately on the EcoDim website via ED-10072

OPERATION
There are two ways to include the device in your Matter controller with Open thread border router:
-
Scan the QR code
There is a QR code on each product. You can directly use your Matter controller with the open Thread Border Router app to scan the QR, and the device is automatically connected to your app. That is, scan the QR code with the “Google Home” app on your smartphone, and the device is automatically added to your app.
(Make sure you have a Matter controller, such as an Apple Home Pod with built in Thread Border Routers). -
Add device via reset button
Some Matter controllers can use the open Thread border router’s App to select “Add device” To do so, follow the following actions:→
1. Press the reset button of the dimmer 2x to put it in pairing mode (the blue indicator light flashes). The dimmer remains in pairing mode for 15 minutes.
2. The blue indicator light stops flashing and stays on for 10 seconds once pairing is successful. After this, the dimmer appears in the menu of the selected controller and can be operated.
Remove from APP and Factory reset
Matter over thread device supports multi fabric feature which means one device can connect to multiple open thread border routers. To remove your device from the network, you need to perform several actions:
-
Delete from app
To remove the device only for an individual controller, you can remove the device from the individual App while your device remains in your other App if you are connected to multiple Apps. -
Delete from network
CAUTION: you will remove the dimmer from all controllers by doing this! Follow the instructions below to reset the dimmer to factory settings.
1. Press and hold the reset button for 3 seconds.
2. When the red indicator light is on, the dimmer has been successfully reset and removed from all networks.

Setting min. light level
Turn on the lights using the dimmer shaft. Then turn the dimmer shaft as far as possible to the left (minimum light output). Do the lights blink? Then use a screwdriver to slowly turn the MIN potentiometer to the right for stable light. Is the light already stable? Then slowly turn the MIN to the left for even better dimmability, to just before the point where the lamps start blinking. This is the best dimmability of the LED lamps.
