Product Usage Instructions

Unpacking:

1. Carefully unpack the Replacement Pump from the shipping container.
2. Verify that all items listed in the table are present.
3. Contact TSI immediately if any items are missing or broken.

Tools Needed for Installation:

• Phillips Screw Driver (not included)

Replace Pump:

1. Remove photometer service panel.
2. Remove the four (4) Phillips-head screws from the left side vpanel, ensuring to remove only the raised-head screws.
3. Pull the pump from the instrument case.
4. Disconnect the vacuum tube, muffler, and power cable from the pump module.
5. Obtain replacement pump. Connect muffler to (P), vacuum tube to (V), and power cable.
6. Place the new pump into the photometer case with the muffler oriented at the bottom.
7. Secure pump module in the instrument case with four (4) Phillips-head screws on the left side.
8. Replace photometer service panel and reinstall photometer inside the environmental enclosure.

This quick start will guide you through the steps to install the replacement pump in the Model 8540/8543 Environmental DustTrak™ Aerosol Monitor.

Unpacking

1.  Carefully unpack the Replacement Pump from the shipping container and verify that all the items listed in the following table are present.
2. Contact TSI immediately if items are missing or broken.
3. Additional items may be included if you ordered accessories or spare parts.

Tools Needed for Installation

Phillips Screw Driver (not included)

Remove Photometer Unit from Environmental Enclosure

1.  Disconnect all cabling from photometer and heated inlet if present.

2. Remove inlet column. If the inlet column includes a heated inlet remove the ferrite from the heated inlet cable and carefully pull the heated inlet cable through the key hole on the mounting ring when removing the inlet column.

3. Loosen retainer ring on top of enclosure while holding photometer.

4.  Pull photometer down and out of enclosure.

Replace Pump

1. Remove photometer service panel.

2. Remove the four (4) Phillips-head screws from the left side panel.
   NOTICE
   Remove only the raised-head screws. DO NOT remove any flush-head screws.

3. Pull the pump from the instrument case

4. Disconnect the vacuum tube, muffler, and power cable from pump module.

5. Obtain replacement pump. Connect muffler to (P), vacuum tube to (V), and power cable.

6. Place new pump into photometer case with muffler orientated at the bottom.

7. Secure pump module in instrument case with four (4) Phillips-head screws on left side.

8. Replace photometer service panel and reinstall photometer inside environmental enclosure.
