GERMAN WAC-407R Window Type Air Conditioner
Product Usage Instructions
The air conditioner can be operated using the control panel on the unit itself or the remote control.
- Press relevant buttons to adjust the airflow direction.
- Set or cancel timer operation for up to 24 hours. OFF TIMER turns off the unit, ON TIMER turns it on.
- Start or stop the air conditioner.
- Change operation mode in sequence: COOLING – FAN ONLY – COOLING.
- Select fan speed: auto, high, mid, low.
- Set room temperature in COOLING mode or set time in TIMER mode.
- Activate the SLEEP function.
- Indicator for compressor operation status.
- Increase temperature or time by 1 unit.
- Decrease temperature or time by 1 unit.
- Switch the air conditioner on/off.
- Select fan speed: auto/low/mid/high.
- Set automatic switching on/off with the timer function.
- Activate the SLEEP function.
- Select the mode of operation.
- Activate or deactivate the movement of the ELECTORS with the SWING function.
FAQ
- Q: How do I clean the air filter?
- A: To clean the air filter, remove it from the unit and wash it with mild soap and water. Allow it to dry completely before reinserting it.
- Q: What should I do if the compressor indicator does not light up?
- A: Check the power supply and ensure that the unit is properly plugged in. If the issue persists, contact customer support for further assistance.

You can easily operate this air conditioner by pressing the relevant button on
the control panel as well as the remote control.

- The outlook and some functions of remote control may vary according to the model.
- The shape and position of buttons and indicators may vary according to the model, but their function is the same.
- The unit confirms the correct reception of each press button with a beep.
“SWING ” CONTROL OF THE AIRFLOW
- The air outlet flow is uniformly distributed in the room.
- It is possible to position the direction of the air in the optimal solution.
The key activates the FLAP, and the airflow is directed alternatively from left to right. To guarantee an even diffusion of the air in the room.
- In cooling mode , orient the flaps in horizontal direction;
- The deflectors are positioned manually and placed under the flaps. They allow to direction the airflow from up to down.
- This adjustment must be done with the appliance switched off.
Notes!
The horizontal Auto-Swing (left to right) is optional.
It depends on the model.
CAUTION!
Never position Flaps manually, the delicate mechanism activating them could be
seriously damaged!
DANGER!
Never insert your hand or objects in the air outlet of the units! These units
contain a fan that turns at high speed.
COOLING MODE
- The cooling function allows the air conditioner to cool the room and at the same time reduces the humidity in the air.
- To activate the cooling function ( COOL ), press the MODE button until the pointer points to COOL.
- The cooling cycle is activated by setting the keys or at a temperature lower than that of the room.
- To optimize the functioning of the conditioner, adjust the temperature, the speed, and the direction of the oair flow by pressing the keys indicated.
TIMER MODE—-TIMER ON
- To set the automatic switching-on of the air conditioner.
- To program the time to start, the appliance should be off. Press TIMER set the temperature by pressing the key or . Press TIMER again, set the time by pressing the key or, press the key more times till on the display you can read the time that passes between the programming and the timed start.
IMPORTANT!
Before proceeding with the timed start: program the working mode with the key
MODE (2) and the fan speed with the key FAN (3) . Switch the conditioner off
(with the key ON/OFF ).
Note
To cancel the set function, press the TIMER button again.
In case of power off, it is necessary to set TIMER ON again.
TIMER MODE—-TIMER OFF

To set the automatic switching-off of the air conditioner
The timed stop is programmed with the appliance on.
Press TIMER, set the time by pressing the key or . -
Press the key more times till on the display you can read the time which passes between the programming and the timed stop.
Note
- To cancel the set function, press the TIMER button again.
- In case of power off, it is necessary to set TIMER OFF again.
- While the time was right settled, the TIMER function of this remote(clock function) can be set by half an hour.
FAN MODE
- The conditioner works in only with ventilation.
- To set the FAN mode, Press MODE until the pointer points to FAN.
- With pressing the FAN button the speed changes in the following sequence: LOW/ MEDIUM/HIGH in FAN mode.
- The remote control also stores the speed that was set in the previous mode of operation.
- In FEEL mode (automatic) the air conditioner automatically chooses the fan speed and the mode of operation.
DRY MODE
- This function reduces the humidity of the air to make the room more comfortable.
- To set the DRY mode, Press MODE until the pointer points to DRY. An automatic function of alternating cooling cycles and air fan is activated.
FEEL MODE
- Automatic mode.
- To activate the FEEL (automatic) mode of operation, press the MODE button on the remote control until the pointer points to FEEL.
- In the FEEL mode, the fan speed and the temperature are set automatically according to the room temperature (tested by the probe which is incorporated in the indoor unit)to ensure user comfort.
To optimize the working of the conditioner, adjust the temperature(only 2 )(1), the speed (2), and the direction of the airflow (3) by pressing the buttons indicated.
SLEEP MODE
- To activate the SLEEP mode of operation, press the SLEEP button on the remote control until the the pointer points to SLEEP.
- Use the Sleep mode during cooling conditions.
- Temperature becomes ST-1 after an hour, ST-2 after another hour, and ST-3 after another hour. This temperature is maintained for the next two hours, after which the temperature becomes ST-2, and then ST an hour after that. This temperature will be maintained throughout; the air conditioner does not switch off after 10 hours.
Electrical Specifications
- All wiring must comply with local and national electrical codes and must be installed by a qualified electrician. If you have any questions regarding the following instructions, contact a qualified electrician.
- Check the available power supply and resolve any wiring problems BEFORE installing and operating this unit.
- For your safety and protection. This unit is grounded through the power cord when plugged into a matching wall outlet. If you are not sure whether your wall outlet is properly grounded, please consult a qualified electrician.
- The rating plate on the unit contains electrical and other technical data. The rating plate is located on the right side of the unit. Make sure to use the correct power supply according to the rating plate of your air conditioner.
Electric Shock Hazard
- The air conditioner has a serial rating of volts. It must have its own fuse or circuit breaker, and no other device or unit should be operated on the fuse or circuit breaker.
- To avoid the possibility of personal injury, disconnect power to the unit before installing or servicing.

Installation Instructions
- Remove all the shipping parts before installation.
LOCATION
- Select a location that can support the weight of the air conditioner and one that will not cause increased operation noise and vibration.
- Direct sunlight is unfavorable for efficient cooling.
- Select a place where there is no obstacles near the air inlet and outlet.
CAUTION
- The installation parts must be strong against corrosion, especially in case the air conditioner will be installed near the sea or hot spring.
- Do not install air conditioner in a place where inflammable gas leaks are a possibility.
- The minimum clearance from the appliance to combustible surfaces is 100mm. (Only for Electric heating )
- The range of external static pressures at which the appliance was tested is 0-5Pa.
OPERATION
- Check the capacity of the wiring and power outlet. The power outlet should be used exclusively for the air conditioner. Do not use it with other appliances.
- Ground the air conditioner to prevent the danger of electric shock.
- Connect the air conditioner to the power source securely.
- Use a fuse as below.
CAUTION
- Before installation, turn off the operation switch and disconnect the power cord.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons(including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities,or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- The appliance is fitted with means for disconnection from the supply mains having a contact separation in all poles that provide full disconnection under overvoltage category III conditions, and these means must be incorporated in the fixed wiring under the wiring rules.

Remove the front panel. (Fig.5)
Remove the air filter. (Fig.6)
Remove the screw at the bottom of the front panel. (Fig.7) Open the panel cover. -
Remove the screws fix the chassis-fixing board and cabinet. Some models have two more screws on the back of the cabinet. (Fig.8)

Grasp the handle on the front of the chassis and carefully slide the air conditioner unit out of the cabinet. (Fig.9)

Install the drain tube connection into the hole provided at the rear of the air conditioner chassis.(Fig.11) (If applicable)
To meet the different requirements of different type of air conditioners, there are two kinds of methods for your choice to treat the condensed water. You can choose back drainage or bottom drainage.
Bottom drainage: the drain tray is fixed in position through four pcs of screws and use the flare nut to block the back drainage hole. (Fig.15)
Back drainage: Use the flare nut to block the bottom drainage hole, and use a water outlet pipe to connect the back drainage hole, pay attention to increasing the sealing ring to prevent water leakage.(Fig.16) -
Install the air conditioner cabinet on the installation shelf (not included) with screws.(Fig.10)

Carefully slide the unit back into the cabinet. (Fig .12)

Reinstall the retaining bracket, front panel, and mounting screws. (Fig.8,7,13)

Reinstall the air filter. (Fig.14)
Care and Maintenance
AIR FILTER
- The air filter should be washed at least once a month. lf the air filter remains full of dust, the air flow will decrease and the cooling capacity will be reduced.
- The filter is behind the cover and to be pulled out from right-hand side.
- Wash the air filter with water an detergent.
- Rinse with clean water and dry it before reinstalling.
CAUTION
- Do not use hot water above 40°C for washing the air filter.
- Let the filter dry thoroughly in the shade before reinstalling. Do not expose it directly on the sun.
- Do not operate the air conditioner with the filter removed
- T1 condition: The ambient temperature for cooling: is 18~43°C.
- T3 condition: The ambient temperature for cooling: is 25~52°C.
AIR CLEANING FILTER
- The air cleaning filter is attached to the air filter.
- Wash the air cleaning filter as well when washing air filter.
FRONT COVER, ETC
- The front cover will accumulate dirt and dust. To clean it, wipe it with a soft dry cloth. When it is excessively dirty, wipe it with a soft cloth dampened with warm water or mild soap, then wipe it again thoroughly with a soft dry cloth.
Troubleshooting Guide
- Never use hot water above 50,benzine, gasoline, acid,thinner or brush to wipe off dirt because they will damage the plastic surface and the coating.
LONG OFF PERIOD MAINTENANCE
- Operate the fan alone (“LOW FAN”or”HIGH FAN”) for half a day to dry out the inside of the unit.
- Turn off the power and remove plug from wall socket.
- After a long off period and using the air conditioner again, clean the CONDENSER(at the rear) and EVAPORATOR (at the front) fins by using a soft brush or vacuum cleaner.
CAUTION
- Be careful not to damage the fins during the cleaning.
BEFORE ASKING FOR SERVICE
Check the following points before requesting repairs or service.lf the
malfunction persists, please contact our customer service.

| Is the power off? Is the fuse blown?
Is the voltage extremely high or low? Is the operation dial set to”off”?
Does not cool effectively
| Is the air filter remain full of dust or dirt? See air filter instructions on page 9.
Does the sunlight shine directly on the unit? Is the airflow on the rear side obstructed?
Leave a space of 500mm behind the rear side of the air conditioner.
The doors or windows may be opened widely or if there are other sources of heat in the room?
The temperature dial is not set properly. Is the ventilation damper open?
Warranty Terms & Conditions
Under normal operations, the product will receive a 1-year full warranty provided by German Pool (effective starting from the date of purchase).
- This warranty is not valid until the Customer’s registration information is returned to and received by our Service Centre within 10 days of purchase via one of the following methods:
- Visit our website and register online: www.germanpool.com/warranty.
- Complete all fields on the attached Warranty Card and mail it back to our Customer Service Centre along with a photocopy of the purchase invoice (Warranty Card and invoice copy will not be returned to Customer).
- A customer who fails to present the original purchase invoice will be disqualified for a free warranty.
- Customers should always follow the operating instructions. This warranty does not apply to:
- labor costs for installation, on-site check-up, replacement of parts, and other transportation costs;
- damages caused by accidents of any kind (including transport and others);
- Plastic parts and accessories
- operating failures resulted from incorrect voltage, improper operations, and unauthorized installations or repairs.
- This warranty is invalid if:
- the purchase invoice is modified by the unauthorized party;
- product is used for any commercial or industrial applications;
- product is repaired or modified by unauthorized personnel, or unauthorized parts are installed;
- serial number is modified, damaged or removed from the product.
- German Pool will, at its discretion, repair or replace any defective part.
- This warranty will be void if there is any transfer of ownership from the original purchaser.
