GERMAN METERING Metis Electricity Meter Reading Android Application

Thank you for purchasing Metis android application, this manual explains the instruction for using this product. Read this manual before using your Metis android application. Keep this manual within easy reach, and use it.

Screens
In this manual, the screens and the use of products in windows are described for Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, and 10. In addition, the screens in android are described for android 4+ and they may differ depending on the used android device. You can find them with the following signage:

Application overview

Metis is an android application for reading electricity meters, which in addition to having all the features of previous readers, has brought unique appearance and performance features. The new user interface, the ability to create a variety of reports and charts, and the ability to install on a variety of phones and tablets, are just some of the features of this application.

Login

First page of this application after running is Login, you have to enter your username and password to login and enter to the application (figure 1).

Home Page

This is the home page of the application (figure 2). The description of each button will follow.

Customers
Touch “Customers” from the home page (figure 3).

At the very top of the strip, there is a summary of the operations performed for the customer. We will list all possible operations (figure 4).

In the upper part of the page, there is general information containing the identification number, name, address, meter serial number and zip code.
Tip: Swipe to go to the next/previous customer.

If you choose “New face” in setting, the customer page will be changed to a new design with list order instead of page order to display customers (figure 5)

There are three buttons in the bottom of the page for the main operations (figure 6).

Manual Entry
To enter the data manually, you can enter meter serial number, meter string, active 1-3, reactive 1-3 and then tap on “Save” button (figure 7).

Digital Read
For meter reading, after placing the probe on the meter, enter to the reading page. After connecting, the meter model and the progress of the reading is displayed on the screen (figure 8).

Tip: To read special meters (meters with different connection method) in the customer page tap and hold your finger on “Digital Read” button (figure 9), then select meter model from list (figure 10).

Operations
This button (figure 11) will display a menu of the following operations (figure 12):

• Obstructions

• Remark
  New Customer

• Contradiction

• Unauthorized Customer

• Picture

• Sound

• Flash Light

Obstructions
Sometimes there is a problem with meter reading! for example, if the meter is behind a door and it is broken and the user can’t reach the meter to read it, then the user has to register a barrier in the application. If the reading is not possible, touch “Obstructions”, the reason can be selected from the list on this page (figure 13).

Remark
Sometimes there is a situation the user has to register it. for example, the cover of the meter is broken! There is a list of common reading or meter status information that can be selected up to five items (figure 14).

New Customer
To add a subscription, complete each field and touch the save button (figure 15).

Contradiction
Sometimes meter serial number is different from registered serial number or there is a contradiction. In this cases user need to register the meter, user enter meter serial number, zip code, customer address and annex photo to customers documentsand tap on “Save” button (fiqure 16).

Unauthorized Customer
If there is an unauthorized customer between 2 customers, user can register it and annex photo to customers documents and tap on “Save” button (figure 17).

Picture
Take picture and attach the photo of the desired situation to customers documents. The list ofall pictures is displayed (figure 18),

Tip: Swipe to going to the next/previous picture while showing pictures.

Sound
Record sound and attach to customer’s documents. In addition, there is a list of your recorded sounds that you can play them back (figure 19).

Flash Light
Turn on/off device flash light and use it as a torch in dark areas (figure 20).

Search
To find the specific customer, tap on search iconin top right corner of screen and then type meter serial number or a part of it, in “New face” mode you can search name too (figure 21).

Icons
There are 6 icons on the top of the page and in bottom of each customer in “New face” mode (figure 22):

• Read: It is active after reading meter
• Obstructions: It is active if you entered a barrier
• Remark: It is active if you entered a remark
• Contradiction: It is active if serial number of meters is different from registered serial number
• Sound: It is active if you recorded a sound
• Picture: It is active if you took a picture

Each icon can be activated or deactivated.

Navigation
Touch “Navigation” from the home page, Google map will be displayed and you can find your current location by touching icon (figure 23).

Report
Touch “Report” from the home page, a donut and a bar chart will be displayed and you can see the “Read” and “Unread” number of recorded customers in donut chart and “Read”, “Barrier”, “Remark” and “Obstructions” number of recorded customers in bar chart (figure 24).

Menu

Touch menu icon in top left corner of screen or tap and drag your finger from left corner of your screen to the center, menu will be displayed (figure 25).

There are 10 items in menu:

1. Settings: To display settings page
2. Reports: To display reports page
3. Navigation: To display navigation page
4. Get Data: To get data from server
5. Upload Data: To send online reading data of meters
6. Backup: To create a new backup from database
7. 7. Restore: To restore last backup and damaged database recovery or fill in blank database (administration access required)
8. About
9. Logout
10. Exit

The description of each item will follow.

**Settings

**
The settings consist of 4 parts (figure 26):

• Probe Type: To choose what kind of probes you use (BlueTooth or usb)
• Paired Devices: It will list the Bluetooth paired devices
• Server Address: The address of server
• New Face: It will change the design view of the customer page to display list orders instead of page order

How to pair a Bluetooth device

User can read data from the meter by placing the Bluetooth optical probe on the optical port place of meter and send read command to bluetooth optical probe by android application and receive data from it. If your probe is not paired with your android device then follow the steps below

• Step 1: Turn your Bluetooth probe on.
• Step 2: Go to the Bluetooth settings of your android device.
• Step 3:Turn Bluetooth on and wait to find your Bluetooth probe.
• Step 4: Select your Bluetooth probe name and enter pin code if asked.
• Step 5:Back to the Metis settings page and select it from the “Paired Devices” list. Tap the “Refresh” button if you can’t find it in list.
