Commercial Electric T8 Type B Ballast Bypass Single or Double Ended Line Voltage LED Tube

Safety Information

  1. Always switch off the power supply before installation.
  2. Ballast bypass model. Ballast must be removed before installation.
  3. LED tubes operate in temperatures from -20°C to + 45°C.
  4. Use in dry or damp locations or in luminaires that provide correct protection.
  5. All LED tubes must be installed by a professional electrician.
  6. Do not change any components of the LED tubes.

Warranty
FIVE-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
The manufacturer warrants this lighting bulb to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of five (5) years from the date of purchase. This warranty applies only to the original consumer purchaser and only to products used in normal use and service. If this product is found to be defective, the manufacturer’s only obligation, and your exclusive remedy, is the repair or replacement of the product at the manufacturer’s discretion, provided that the product has not been damaged through misuse, abuse, accident, modifications, alterations, neglect, or mishandling.

WHAT IS NOT COVERED
This warranty shall not apply to any product that is found to have been improperly installed, set up, or used in any way not in accordance with the instructions supplied with the product. This warranty shall not apply to a failure of the product as a result of an accident, misuse, abuse, negligence, alteration, faulty installation, or any other failure not relating to faulty material or workmanship. This warranty shall not apply to the finish on any portion of the product, such as surface and/or weathering, as this is considered normal wear and tear. The manufacturer does not warrant and specifically disclaims any warranty, whether express or implied, of fitness for a particular purpose, other than the warranty contained herein. The manufacturer specifically disclaims any liability and shall not be liable for any consequential or incidental loss or damage, including but not limited to any labor/expense costs involved in the replacement or repair of said product.

Quick Installation Guide

  1. Switch off the electricity.
  2. Remove Conventionallamp.
  3. Cut off the ballast.
  4. Rewire the circuit. Refer to the installation instructions for details.
  5. Insert the LED Tube into the lamp fitting.
  6. Switch on electricity.

Single-Ended Wiring instructions

For single-ended wiring, do not install the product in a fixture with shunted lamp holders (found in all fixtures using instant start ballasts). If the current lamp holders are shunted, remove them and replace them with non- shunted lamp holders. Make new connections directly to terminals as indicated below.

Double-Ended Wiring instructions

The ballast wiring below represents a typical configuration. The actual ballast wiring varies according to the ballasted model. It is not necessary to change sockets (if in good condition) to operate double-ended lamps, regardless of the type of sockets. Please make sure one side of the fixture is connected to Live (L) and the other side to Neutral (N).

Warnings

  1. Risk of fire or electric shock. LED Retrofit Kit installation requires knowledge of luminaires’ electrical systems. If not qualified, do not attempt installation. Contact a qualified electrician.
  2. Risk of fire or electric shock. Install this kit only in luminaires that have the construction features and dimensions shown in the photographs and/or drawings and where the input rating of the retrofit kit does not exceed the input rating of the luminaire.
  3. Do not make or alter any open holes in an enclosure of wiring or electrical components during kit installation.
  4. To prevent wiring damage or abrasion, do not expose wiring to edges of sheet metal or other sharp objects.
  5. This fixture must be grounded and installed in accordance with local and national electrical codes, by a person familiar with the construction and operation of the product and the hazards involved.
  6. Installers should not disconnect existing wires from lamp holder terminals to make new connections at lamp holder terminals. Instead, installers should cut existing lamp holder leads away from the lamp holder and make new electrical connections to lamp holder lead wires by employing applicable connectors.
  7. Please examine all parts that are not intended to be replaced by the retrofit kit for damage and replace any damaged parts prior to installation of the retrofit kit.
  8. THIS RETROFIT KIT IS ACCEPTED AS A COMPONENT OF A LUMINAIRE WHERE THE SUITABILITY OF THE COMBINATION SHALL BE DETERMINED BY AUTHORITIES HAVING JURISDICTION. PRODUCT MUST BE INSTALLED BY A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE APPLICABLE AND APPROPRIATE ELECTRICAL CODES. THE INSTALLATION GUIDE DOES NOT SUPERSEDE LOCAL OR NATIONAL REGULATIONS FOR ELECTRICAL INSTALLATIONS.
  9. The units covered by this report are intended to retrofit surface mount, Type IC/Type Non-IC recessed mount listed fluorescent luminaires that use a maximum of 4 straight tubular lamps with or without a diffuser. The minimum dimension of luminaries are tabulated below:
  10. This device is not intended for use with emergency exits.
  11. This device is not intended for use with dimmable exits.

WARNING: To avoid potential fire or shock hazards, do not use this retrofit kit in luminaires employing shunted bin-pin lamp holders.

Note: Shunted lamp holders are found only in fluorescent luminaires with Instant-Start ballasts. InstantStart ballasts can be identified by the words “Instant Start” or “I.S.” marked on the ballast. This designation may be in the form of a statement pertaining to the ballast itself, or may be combined with the marking for the lamps with which the ballast is intended to be used, for example, F40T12/IS.
