Below are some common problem

My wavlink device often disconnect from the host router, how do I fix it?
-
Pls try to upgrade the firmware from our official website www.wavlink.com.After upgrading, pls reset the device by pressing the reset button for 6s. (Firmware upgrading and resetting could solve many unexpected problem)

Pls try to change the wireless channel of the host router. (Crowded channel might be another reasons)
For 2.4g, pls choose 1 or 6 or 11.
For 5g, pls choose 36 or 40 or 44. -
Check if your router combine 5g and 2.4g signal into one signal. If so, pls try to Separate 5g signal from 2.4g signal, then repeat the signal again.

Try to repeat the 5g signal of the host router to avoid crowded channel.

The device is very hot, is that normal?
It is normal the device will get hot, normally this will not affect the usage. -
Why I could not repeat the signal of my host router successfully?
Such problem might be caused by many reasons. Please kindly try the steps below to check if these could help. -
Reset the device by pressing the reset button for 6s and configure it again. Resetting will be helpful for most unexpected problem

Make sure the password should be same as your router. (pay attention to the case)

Enable the DHCP of your router. Or the repeater could not get the ip address(. If the dhcp of the router is enabled, pls skip this step)

Disable the MAC filter of your router. If you enable the mac filter in your router, the wavlink device might be not in the white list. So it could not repeat the signal of the router. (If the mac filler is not enabled, pls skip this step)

Change the encryption of your router to WPA2, WPA1 or WPA1/WPA2 MIX. Our device does not support WPA3.

Try to repeat the 5g signal of your host router, if there is no 5G signal, you could change the 2.4g channel of your host router to 1 or 6 or 11.For 5g signal,we also suggest you should change to channel to 36,40 or 44. Then repeat the signal again. In some case, the congested channel might cause this problem.

Try to choose bridge mode. This is main to avoid the gateway conflict.

Place the repeater closer to your router, make sure you could get at less 3 bar of the signal from the router, a strong signal from router will be easier to repeat.

If the internet speed from the extender is not as expected, what should I do?(In extender mode)
Actually the device work as the wifi ranger extender, it could help help the user to get a larger wifi coverage. But it could not increase the internet speed from the host router. And the internet speed should be lower than the speed from the host router. And there are many methods which might be helpful. -
Please try to adjust the position of the wavlink device.
And it is better to avoid too many obstacle like wall between the host router and wavlink device and try to avoid too many obstacle between the wavlink device and the target area -
Try to repeat the 5g signal of your host router, if there is no 5G signal, you could change the
2.4g channel of your host router to 1 or 6 or 11. For 5g signal, we also suggest you should change to channel to 36,40 or 44. Then repeat the signal again. And normally you could get better performance from the 5g signal of wavlink device. -
Try to adjust the antennas correctly. (It is better to make the antenna perpendicular to the ground)

If possible, you could try to set the device as ap/router mode and connect the device to the host router via Ethernet cable. (The hardwire will ensure the stable Internet speed.)

Try to connect the 5g signal of wavlink device

The led of the device is not on, what should I do?

Please make sure you should switch the power switch on.
(2) Please try to test the wavlink device at another power socket. (To rule
out the problem of the power socket)

What should I do if only the power led is on?
Please kindly try the steps below: -
Try to reset the device by pressing the reset button for 6s.

Try to connect the lan port of the device to the pc via Ethernet cable then check if you could log in the management page.

If you could log in the management page, please try to upgrade the firmware from our website, after upgrading, please reset the device by pressing the reset button for 6s.

How to get a larger wifi coverage via wavlink device?

Try to avoid the obstacle between the wavlink device the client especially the wall. (The wall will affect the wireless signal much)

Try to keep the antenna perpendicular to the ground.
