MATERIALS
- LION BRAND® RESPUN THICK & QUICK® (Art. #843) #153 Raven 1 ball (A) #098 Whipped Cream 1 ball (B)
- LION BRAND® knitting needles size 13 (9 mm)
- LION BRAND® large-eyed blunt needle
ADDITIONAL MATERIALS
16 x 16 in. (40.5 x 40.5 cm) pillow form
GAUGE
12 sts + 14 rows = about 4 3/4 in. (12 cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS).
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE.
NOTES
- Front and Back are worked separately, back and forth in rows of St st (k on RS, p on WS).
- The front is worked in intarsia colorwork following a Chart.
- When working from Chart, read RS rows of Chart from right to left and WS rows from left to right
- Wind A into 8 separate balls and B into 7 separate balls before beginning.
- When working intarsia, do not carry yarn across WS of work between color changes, use a separate ball for each section of color. Twist yarns on WS at color changes to prevent holes.
FRONT
With A, cast on 41 sts.
Row 1 (WS) : With A, purl.
Rows 2-47 : Beginning with Row 2 of Chart, work in St st (k on RS, p on
WS) and change yarn color following Chart until all 47 rows of Chart have been
completed.
Bind off.
BACK
With A, cast on 41 sts. Work in St st until the piece measures the same as
Front.
Bind off.
FINISHING
Without letting the iron touch the yarn, steam block Front and Back to measure 16 x 16 in. (40.5 x 40.5 cm). Hold Front and Back with WS together and sts and rows matching. Sew together along 3 sides, insert pillow form, then sew last side closed. Weave in yarn ends.
