GAUGE
6 V-sts = about 4 in. (10 cm).
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE.

STITCH EXPLANATION
V-st (Dc, ch 1, dc) in indicated st or sp.

NOTES

1. Afghan is worked diagonally from one corner across to the opposite corner.
2. Sts are increased every row on Increase Half to the widest point then sts are decreased every row on Decrease Half to opposite corner.
3. We’ve included stitch diagrams to help you with the pattern stitch.
4. Yarn color is changed every row following Stripe Sequence.
5. To change yarn color when working the Increase Half, work last st of old color to last yarn over. Yarn over with new color and draw through all loops on hook. Proceed with new color. Cut old color, leaving a tail to weave in later.
6. To change yarn color when working the Decrease Half, fasten off old color, leaving a tail to weave in later, and join new color as instructed.

STRIPE SEQUENCE

Work 1 row each with A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, and J; rep from for Stripe Sequence.

BLANKET
With A, ch 6.

Increase Half

• Row 1 (RS): V-st in 5th ch from hook, dc in last ch and change to B – you will have 1 beg ch-sp, 1 V-st, and 1 dc at the end of this row.
• Row 2: Ch 6, turn, V-st in 5th ch from hook, sk next V-st, (sl st, ch 3, V-st, dc) in beg ch-sp and change to C in last dc – 2 V-sts.
• Row 3: Ch 6, turn, V-st in 5th ch from hook, sk next V-st, (sl st, ch 3, V-st) in next ch-3 sp, sk next V-st, (sl st, ch 3, V-st, dc) in beg ch-sp and change to D in last dc – 3 V-sts.
• Row 4: Ch 6, turn, V-st in 5th ch from hook, sk next V-st, (sl st, ch 3, V-st) in next ch-3 sp; rep from once more, sk last V-st, (sl st, ch 3, V-st, dc) in beg ch-sp and change to E in last dc – 4 V-sts.
• Row 5: Ch 6, turn, V-st in 5th ch from hook, sk next V-st, (sl st, ch 3, V-st) in next ch-3 sp; rep from to last V-st, sk last V-st, (sl st, ch 3, V-st, dc) in beg ch-sp and change to F in last dc – 5 V-sts.
• Rows 6-55: Rep Row 5 for 50 more times continuing to change color every row following Stripe Sequence – you will have 55 V-sts at the end of Row 55.
  Fasten off.

Decrease Half

• Row 56 (WS): Turn, sk first V-st, join next color with sl st in next ch-3 sp, ch 3, V-st in same ch-3 sp, sk next V-st, (sl st, ch 3, V-st) in next ch-3 sp; rep from to last V-st, sk last V-st, sl st in beg ch-sp – 54 V-sts. Fasten off.
• Rows 57-109: Rep Row 56 and continue to change color every row following Stripe Sequence – you’ll have 1 V-st when you have completed Row 109.
  Fasten off.

BORDER
From RS, join F with sl st anywhere along outer edge of Afghan, ch 1, work sc evenly spaced all the way around the outer edge, working 3 sc in each corner; join with sl st in first sc. Fasten off.

FINISHING
Weave in ends.
