GAUGE
14 sts + 16 rows = about 4 in. (10 cm) in Garter st (k every st of every row).
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE.

NOTES

1. Scarf is worked in one piece, back and forth in rows and changing yarn color following Stripe Sequence.
2. After knitting the first row, place a marker on that side of the piece. Yarn color is changed at the beginning of rows on this marked side of the Scarf.
3. Two rows of Garter st make one Garter ridge visible on the marked side of Scarf. Count Garter ridges with marked side facing you, counting 2 rows for each Garter ridge, to easily count the number of rows.

STRIPE SEQUENCE
Work 52 rows with A, (2 rows with C, 2 rows with A) twice, (2 rows with C, 2 rows with B) twice, 2 rows with C, 52 rows with B, (2 rows with C, 2 rows with B) 3 times, 52 rows with C, 2 rows with A, 2 rows with C, 2 rows with A, 2 rows with D, 2 rows with A, 72 rows with D, 2 rows with A, 2 rows with D, 2 rows with A, 2 rows with C, 2 rows with A, 52 rows with C, (2 rows with B, 2 rows with C) 3 times. 52 rows with B, 2 rows with C, (2 rows with B, 2 rows with C) twice, (2 rows with A, 2 rows with C) twice, 52 rows with A for a total of 464 rows in Sequence.

SCARF
With A, cast on 74 sts.
Work in Garter st (k every st of every row) and change yarn color following Stripe Sequence until all 464 rows of sequence have been completed.
Bind off.
