ULINE Edge Protector Cutter Instructions

TOOLS NEEDED

Flathead Screwdriver              Allen Wrench (included)            Magnet (included)

PARTS

OPERATION

WARNING! Cutter contains sharp blade. Read operating instructions before using. Use extreme caution during operation.

NOTE: This unit cuts 90º paper edge protectors up to 3 x 3″, 0.225″ thick.

NOTE: Before using, turn handle to correct position.

  1. Loosen screws with flathead screwdriver and Allen wrench. Turn handle 180° and re-tighten screws. (See Figure 1)

  2. Press handle down and pull safety pin out. Now, tool is ready for use. (See Figure 2)
    NOTE: Keep safety pin in holder.

  1. Insert edge protector into slot with handle up. Firmly press handle down to cut to desired length. (See Figure 3)

    NOTE: You may use the newly cut edge protector as a template to cut necessary length for additional protectors. (See Figure 4)

  2. When done cutting, press the handle down and insert safety pin to lock handle movement. (See Figures 5-6)
    NOTE: Ensure pin protrudes through back side of cutter. This indicates pin is fully inserted.

  1. Insertion of safety pin locks movement of handle.
    NOTE: With unit locked, you may carry cutter by handle.
    NOTE: For safety reasons, always lock handle when not in use.

MAINTENANCE

  1. Replace dull blades to ensure best cut quality.
  2. Clean tool with brush and periodically use clean, compressed air to blow dust off of unit.
  3. Regularly apply light machine oil to all moving parts.

BLADE REPLACEMENT

WARNING! Not following instructions may cause injury to user.

  1. Remove four screws and pull protective shield out. (See Figure 8)

  2. Lift handle approximately 60° up to allow insertion of safety pin into hole. (See Figure 9)

  3. After insertion of pin, confirm safety pin protrudes through other side. (See Figure 10)
    NOTE: The safety pin now blocks the movement of handle.

  4. Put tool down to horizontal position. Use Allen wrench to free screws and washers. Remove two cutter blocks. (See Figure 11)

  1. For safety reasons, use included magnet to hold new blade. (See Figure 12)

  2. Using magnet, place blade against pins as shown. (See Figure 13)

BLADE REPLACEMENT CONTINUED

  1. Put cutter blocks back. Fasten two screws and washers. Repeat previous steps for blade on opposite side. (See Figure 14)

  2. Press handle down, and while at this position, pull safety pin out. Place safety pin into pin holder. Replace protective shield as shown. Tighten four screws. Cutter is ready for use. (See Figure 15)

CUTTING BOARD REPLACEMENT

WARNING! Not following instructions may cause injury to user.

  1. Loosen screws. Remove protective shields on both sides. (See Figure 16)

  2. Lift handle approximately 60° up to allow insertion of safety pin into hole. (See Figure 17)

  3. After insertion of pin, confirm safety pin protrudes through other side. (See Figure 18)
    NOTE: The safety pin now blocks the movement of handle.

  4. Unscrew bolts, nuts, block plates and fixed plate. (See Figure 18)

CUTTING BOARD REPLACEMENT CONTINUED

  1. Two numbers are marked on cutting board: “1” on one side and “2” on the other. Flip cutting board to opposite side, as both sides may be used before replacement. If both sides have been used, replace
    cutting board. Then, tighten fixed plate, block plates, bolts and nuts. (See Figure 19)

  2. Pull safety pin out. (See Figure 20)

  3. Put handle down. Re-install protective shield. Replace and tighten all screws. (See Figure 21)
