INSTALLATION

IMPORTANT: INSTALLATION OF THIS PRODUCT REQUIRES MODIFICATION OR REPLACEMENT OF OEM REAR BUMPER LOWER COVER/ DIFFUSER

  1. We recommend installation to be performed by a trained and/ or qualified technician

  2. Installation should be performed when the exhaust is cool to the touch

  3. Visually ensure the exhaust valve flap is in the closed position

  4. Remove the rear diffuser cover(s)

  5. Disconnect the electrical harness from the exhaust valve motor, and unclip harness from exhaust

  6. Remove the lower front under cover to gain access to the front overpipe

  7. Remove OEM front overpipe and exhaust

  8. Install the original rubber hangers from the OEM exhaust component onto the REMARK exhaust system

  9. Install the REMARK front overpipe onto the vehicle using gasket [1] and the oem nuts. Torque to factory spec.

  10. Begin to install the components of the exhaust [B] [C] [D]. It may be easier to install the exhaust in sections instead of as an assembled complete exhaust due to the weight and size (unless you are installing with aid of an additional person). We recommend starting from the front first and working your way rearwards, starting with [B]

  11. Install the forward section of the midpipe [B] to the REMARK front overpipe. Use provided 3-bolt gasket [2] and provided M10 hardware [4] [5]. Snug or just hand tighten hardware at this point

  12. Use the supplied gasket [3] and hardware [4] [5] to install section [C]. Leaving the hardware hand tight until the entire system is installed.

  13. Remove the OEM exhaust valve motor from the OEM exhaust by removing M5 nuts. Once removed, the valve motor spring should be in position similar to image shown. We recommend using the OEM exhaust valve motor spring. An additional spring is included with the kit but the height of the spring needs to be adjusted/ lengthened if used. Only adjust and use if you no longer have your OE spring.

  14. Visually check to ensure the REMARK exhaust valve is closed

  15. Remove the M5 hardware [6] [7] from the exhaust valve brackets located on the rear muffler section of the REMARK exhaust [D]

  16. Align the exhaust valve motor spring to the slots on the REMARK exhaust valve, and slightly rotate to line up the three mounting tabs.
IMPORTANT – Ensure the spring is properly seated into the slots on the top of the valve motor.

  17. Secure with supplied M5 hardware [6] [7]. 4mm HEX wrench and 8mm box wrench.
CAUTION – Do not overtighten hardware. Suggested, ~35 INCH-lbs.

  18. Install the REMARK rear muffler section [D] onto the vehicle. Use supplied gasket [3] and hardware [4] [5]. Snug the hardware.

  19. Check positioning of the exhaust piping, resonator, muffler(s), and tips(s). Reposition if needed by loosening hardware, adjust position and retighten hardware.

  20. When placement is confirmed, tighten all hardware to recommend torque spec.
INSTALLATION TIP – If the position of the tips need to be adjusted, loosen the flange hardware, have someone hold the tips in desired position, and re-tighten hardware.

  21. Plug in the exhaust valve harness to the exhaust valve motor

  22. Throughly wipe down the exhaust system from any grease, dirt, handprints, fingerprints, etc… as these may cause a permanent stain once the exhaust reaches operating temp. DO NOT USE any harsh cleaners on the polish or burnt
finish tips as permanent discoloration may occur. We recommend soap and water for the tips.

  23. Start the engine and let the system come up to temp.

  24. Check for any leaks, fitment issues, rubbing, etc..

  25. Re-install front lower cover and rear diffuser under panel.

  26. Re-check for exhaust leaks, fitment issues, and re-torque all hardware after ~100 miles of driving.
We highly recommend that the all system components be inspected, and ALL hardware retightened at normal service intervals. Every 3000-5000 miles.

Exhaust Valve Operation –
When stationary and revving, the exhaust valve motor will open regardless of the driving mode.
When driving, Comfort mode will leave the exhaust valve closed. In both Sport and R+ modes, the exhaust valve is predominantly open.
