Scope of delivery

Please check the following content before assembly.

Total content

• 1 Upright with sliding device (= mechanical upright)
• 1 Upright with sliding device (= counter upright)
• 2 Aluminium ground sockets with caps (optional)

Preparation for the match

a) The sliding devices (with pulley mechanism at mechanical sliding device) are already provided at the uprights. Only the uprights have to be erected and the net to be fixed.

In order to avoid slipping of the sliding devices during storage or incase of handling errors we provided height and depth limitations inthe grooves of the uprights (screws with washers) above and below the sliding devices (see right picture).

Installation of uprights:

If the unit is inserted in existing ground sockets it has to be guaranteed that they are suitable for the uprights. Otherwise safety certificates are no longer valid and warranty claims expire!
Instructions to concrete aluminium ground sockets see point 6.
Take care that hand wheels are tightened so that sliding devices are fixed.

If the unit is equipped with insertion elements for existing ground sockets the uprights have only to be inserted into the ground sockets

3. Assembly of the net

The net is not part of the delivery. The following pictures only describe further assembly steps. Different net executions are available.

a) Fixing of rope at the mechanical upright:

Hang snap hook in the loop of the net tensioning rope and fix rope in the clamp device (with handle). Hook off the snap hook if it is still fixed in the mechanical sliding device.

b) Fixing of rope at the counter upright:
Pull tensioning rope through the expanded eye at the sliding device and fix it somewhat deeper. Fixing of the tensioning rope depends on the rope length, the distance between the uprights and the net execution, for example:
– directly in one of the lower eyes (see right picture)
– wrap round the eyes down at the sliding device (see left picture)
– directly in the expanded eye
Tension the rope during fixing as far as possible.

c) Adjustment of net height:

At first unscrew handwheels, adjust the height and then tighten hand- wheels again. The net height has generally to be adjusted with released tension!

d) Tensioning of the net:

Tension the net by means of the pulley mechanism. Pull the pulley rope until the requested net tension is achieved and then fix it in the clamp device.

During tensioning of the net the uprights deform to the field centre.
These deformations are no defects and disappear when the tension is released.

e) Fixing of tensioning cords:

Now fix lower tensioning cords at both uprights to adjust the net.The lower cords are fixed in the eyes of the short sliding devices for fine adjustment.
For changing of height unscrew handwheels, adjust height and tighten handwheels again. The upper and middle cords (if available) are only fixed around uprights’ profiles (see bottom pictures).

Storage of Volleyball uprights:

Storage of uprights has to be effected horizontally on a board or on a special trolley. Take care to tighten handwheels of sliding devices before using uprights again.

Fixing of protection pads at uprights:

The protection pads are not part of the delivery.
Note:
Each upright has to be protected from at least 2.000 mm above the ground. Uprights, tensioning device and projecting parts have completely to be surrounded (see bottom pictures). Please tighten clamps to avoid slipping of the pads.

Instructions to concrete ground sockets:

The following sketch will help you to concrete the ground sockets.
Note:
To enable a drain off of possible water we recommend to stick a tube below the holes of the ground sockets. Do not apply an acceleration mixture or antifreeze as these adhesives may cause damages of the sockets. After setting of concrete insert uprights in ground sockets.

The sketch indicates standard field dimensions and net execution, distance of uprights 11 m. Dimensions have to be checked and adapted depending on the local situation.
This is a standard Volleyball unit with 1 mechanical and 1 counter upright.
During tensioning of the net the uprights deform to the field centre. We recommend to concrete ground sockets negative-going by about 1° declination to the outside. These deformations are no defects and disappear when the tension is released.

Maintenance, storage and safety instructions:

This unit is constructed only for Volleyball matches and not for other purposes. Check all screwed fastenings before use and repeat it from time to time. Do not climb or hang on uprights and unit.
Check screwed fastenings regularly and change damaged and wearing parts if need be.
Note: Due to our continuous quality check of products and equipment technical modifications are possible.
This unit is checked according to EN 1271.
Only use water for cleaning the surfaces. Do not use alcohol or any aggressive chemicals!
Transport/Storage: It is absolutely necessary to avoid stacking or pushing of the volleyball unit over each other. This form of storage or transport will inevitably damage.
Hygiene note: We recommend complete surface disinfection after use. Only use suitable disinfectants.
If necessary, test these in advance for compatibility on a hidden area of the product.
Disposal: At the end of its lifetime, this product and its accessories must be properly disposed of at the appropriate local waste disposal/recycling facility. Proper disposal will help prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health, and promote the recycling of materials and resource.
