Intended use

The product is intended for automatic plant irrigation. The product is waterproof per IPX7 and is suitable for outdoor use. The product can be used for automatic irrigation at set times in intervals, e.g. in gardens. Power is supplied via two 1.5 V type AA batteries (not included in delivery).

For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. Using the product for purposes other than those described above may damage the product. In addition, improper use can cause hazards such as short circuits. Read the instructions carefully and store them in a safe place. Make this product available to third parties only together with its operating instructions.

Safety instructions

a) General information

  • This product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.

  • Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. This may become dangerous playing material for children.

  • Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, flammable gases, vapors, and solvents.

  • Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.

  • If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, stop using it and prevent unauthorized use. The safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
    – is visibly damaged,
    – is no longer working properly,
    – has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
    – has been subjected to any serious transport-related stress.

  • Always handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height may damage the product.

  • Always observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices which are connected to the product.

  • At freezing temperatures, disconnect the product from the water tap and hose.
    Store the product in a frost-free location.

  • Avoid pressure above 6 bar to avoid damage.

  • Consult a technician if you are not sure how to use or connect the product.

  • Maintenance, modifications, and repairs must be done by a technician or an authorized repair center.

  • If you have questions that remain unanswered by these operating instructions, contact our technical support service or other technical personnel.

b) Batteries

  • Correct polarity must be observed while inserting the batteries.
  • Remove the batteries, if you are not going to use the device for a while, to prevent damage from leaking. Leaking or damaged batteries might cause acid burns when in contact with skin, Always use protective gloves when handling damaged batteries.
  • Keep the batteries out of the reach of children. Do not leave batteries lying around, as they may be swallowed by children or pets.
  • Replace all of the batteries at the same time. Mixing old and new batteries may lead to battery leakage and thus to damage to the device.
  • Batteries must not be dismantled, short-circuited, or thrown into the fire. Never charge conventional, non-rechargeable batteries. There is a risk of explosion.

Operation

a) Inserting/changing the battery

  • Remove the battery compartment (8) from the housing.
  • Insert 2 1.5 V type AA batteries into the battery compartment. Observe correct polarity (+/-), as indicated in the battery compartment. Only use alkaline batteries.
  • Insert the battery compartment back into the housing.
  • Replace the batteries when the LC display shows the icon for low battery, but at least once a year.

b) Water and hose connection

  • You may connect to a water tap before or after programming.
  • Connect the water tap connector (1) with a suitable water tap.
  • Connect a water hose with a suitable connector to the hose connector (9).
  • Open the water tap and then leave it open. The water pressure may not exceed 6 bar. At the programmed time, water will exit the hose.

c) Basic settings

Follow the cursor position during programming. Set the time with the **** (7) or (4) buttons. Confirm settings with the  (5) or (6) buttons. The cursor jumps to the next setting. By default, the time is displayed in the 12-hour format. Press and hold the button for approx. 10 seconds until the LC display switches. The time is in the 24-hour format. Press and hold the button for approx. 10 seconds again to return to the 12-hour format.

  • Position TIME: Set the temperature with the or buttons. Confirm with the button or press the key.

  • Position TODAY: Set the current weekday. The weekday is shown by the cursor icon
    The weekdays are shown abbreviated in English:
    SU (Sunday) MO (Monday) TU (Tuesday) WED (Wednesday) THU (Thursday) FRI (Friday) SAT (Saturday).
    Confirm your selection with the or button.

  • Position WATER DAY: The cursor changes to the setting for the watering day and displays the 6 icons. Confirm the desired watering day with the button. The ♦ icon is displayed to confirm your setting. By pressing the button, you can delete the setting again. Switch to another day or to position “2nd” or “3rd” (every second or third day) with the or buttons. The “2nd” or “3rd” positions offer the possibility of enabling irrigation every second (2nd) or third (3rd) day instead of a specific weekday.

  • Switch to the next setting level (water cycle) by pressing the key.

d) Programming watering times

  • Position WATER CYCLE: Set the cursor icon to “1” with the or buttons. Confirm your selection with the OK or button to set the first water cycle.
  • Position START TIME: Set the start time ( or button) and confirm (OK or button).
  • Position HOW LONG (watering duration): Adjust the watering duration ( or button) and confirm (OK or button). Press and hold the **** or button for fast setting. The maximum length is 240 minutes.
  • Set the duration for the watering cycles 2, 3, and 4 if needed.

e) Setting Eco mode

  • Position ECO FUNCTION (Eco mode): Enable the Eco mode if you wish to interrupt the watering cycles. “WATER” flashes on the LC display. Set the time period for watering ( or button) and confirm (OK or button). “PAUSE” flashes on the LC display. Set the time period for the pause between water cycles ( or button) and confirm (OK or button). The maximum time is 19 minutes.
    Eco-mode allows you to program individual watering times for various uses (lawns, crop plants, etc.) and soil conditions. This helps for water absorption of the soil since the appropriate time setting allows the water level to drop accordingly. After activating Eco mode, the setting is applied to all watering cycles.
    Example: Water cycle 1 = 60 minutes, Irrigation for 6 minutes Pause for 3 minutes Irrigation for 6 minutes Pause for 3 minutes …

f) Programming irrigation type

  • Position PROGRAM (irrigation type): The available modes are Automatic, Rain delay, Manual irrigation, and Shut Down.
  • Set the cursor icon to AUTO ( or button) and confirm (OK or button) to start automatic mode.
  • If it is supposed to rain soon, you can delay the program for up to 6 days. Set the cursor icon to DELAY and confirm (OK or button). Use the or button to set the number of days to delay the program. Confirm with the OK or buttons.
  • You can manually set the irrigation time during periods when no irrigation takes place. Set the cursor icon to MANUAL and confirm (OK or button). Adjust the duration of watering. See position HOW LONG. You may then activate Eco mode if desired. Set the cursor icon to MANUAL again and confirm (OK or button). If no water is running or the device is not connected to the water tap, the display shows the tap symbol . Open the tap.
  • If you wish to deactivate automatic irrigation for an extended period of time, set the cursor icon to OFF ( or button) and confirm (OK or button). This suspends the set irrigation program.

Maintenance and cleaning

  • Never use aggressive detergents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions, as these could damage the casing or cause the light to malfunction.
  • Use a slightly damp, lint-free cloth to clean the product exterior.
  • Disconnect the water timer from the water tap and hose at freezing temperatures and during months when no irrigation is necessary.
  • Check the inside of the water tap connection (1) for contamination. Remove any dirt if present.
  • Dry the product prior to storing it. Store the product in a dry and frost-proof location out of direct sunlight.

Disposal

A) Product

Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the household waste. Always dispose of the product according to the relevant statutory regulations.

ti Remove any inserted batteries and dispose of them separately from the product.

B)Batteries

You as the end-user are required by law to return all used batteries. They must not be placed in household waste.

Batteries that contain hazardous substances are labeled with this symbol to indicate that disposal of domestic waste is forbidden. The abbreviations for heavy metals in batteries are Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead (shown on batteries, e.g. below the trash icon on the left).

Used batteries can be returned to local collection points, our stores, or battery retailers.
You thus fulfill your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
