Breast Milk Bottle with Teat

Ideal for collecting, storing and feeding Breast milk
Make sure breastfeeding is well established before introducing a teat.

Note:  Only use Medela original accessories.

Cleaning and Hygiene

  • Use drinking water quality for any of the following described cleaning procedures.
  • Clean parts immediately after use to avoid dry up of milk residues and to prevent from growth of bacteria.
  • Take care not to damage parts when using a brush.
  • Inspect all items before each use.
  • Replace parts if damaged or worn out.
  • For hygiene reasons, we recommend replacing teats after 3 months.
  • Note: Food colorings may discolor components which will not affect performance.
  • Follow these cleaning instructions unless you are told otherwise by your healthcare professional.
  • Do not leave a feeding teat in direct sunlight or heat, or leave in disinfectant (“sterilizing solution”) for longer than recommended, as this may weaken the teat.

Prior to first use and once daily

  • Disassemble, wash and rinse all parts.

  • Place parts in a saucepan of sufficient capacity.

  • Fill with cold water until the parts are well covered.
    Optionally, a tea spoon of citric acid may be added to avoid a build-up of limescale.

  • Heat it up and allow to boil for 5 minutes.

  • Remove from stove and drain water off.

  • Dry parts with a clean towel.

As an alternative to boiling:
Dishwasher: Clean parts in top rack.
Microwave: Use Medela Quick Clean microwave bags or other microwave-safe device.
Steam steriliser: Follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

After each use

  • Disassemble and wash all parts in warm, soapy water.
  • Rinse in clear water. Dry parts with a clean towel.
  • After cleaning, when parts are not in use, put in a clean zip lock bag or store in a container with lid.
  • Alternatively, the parts can be wrapped in a clean paper or cloth towel.
  • Do not place in direct sunlight.
  • Avoid touching the inside of bottles and lids.

( 39 ° F ) or lower
Thawed breast milk| In refrigerator for 10 h max.
Do not refreeze !

  • Do not store breast milk in the door of the refrigerator. Instead choose the coldest part of the refrigerator (this is at the back of the glass shelf above the vegetable compartment).
  • You can freeze expressed breast milk in milk bottles or “Pump & Save”* bags. Do not fill the bottles or bags more than ¾ full to allow space for possible expansion.
  • Label the bottles or “Pump & Save” bags with the date of expression.

Caution
Do not thaw frozen breast milk or do not warm breast milk in a microwave or a pan of boiling water to avoid loss of vitamins, minerals and other important components and to prevent burns.

  • ln order to preserve the components of the breast milk, thaw the milk in the refrigerator overnight. Alternatively, you can hold the bottle or “Pump & Save” bag under warm water (max. 37 °C).
  • Gently swirl the bottle or “Pump & Save” bag to mix any fat that has separated. Avoid shaking or stirring the milk.

For your child’s safety and health

WARNING!

  • Always use this product with adult supervision.
  • Never use feeding teats as a soother.
  • Continuous and prolonged sucking of fluids will cause tooth decay.
  • Always check food temperature before feeding.
  • Plastic bottles and component parts become brittle when frozen and may break when dropped.
  • Also, bottles and component parts may become damaged if mishandled, e.g. dropped, over-tightened, or knocked over.
  • Take appropriate care in handling bottles and components.
  • Do not use the breast milk if bottles or components become damaged.
