Definitions

avoided, could result in death or serious injury.
CAUTION – Indicates a potentially hazardous situation, which, if not
avoided, may result in minor/moderate injury.
NOTICE** – Addresses practices not related to personal injury, such as
product and/or property damage. When using electrical appliances, always
follow basic safety precautions, including the following:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE.
**WARNING** – To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or serious personal injury:

Keep this product out of the reach of children. This product is not intended for use by children. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used near children.

Do not touch hot surfaces. Use the handle.

Unplug power cord from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.

Do not leave the product unattended while in use.

Do not immerse the power cord, plug, or plates in water/liquid.

Do not use attachments not recommended for use with this product by the product manufacturer. Attachments, when furnished, may become hot during use, so allow them to cool before handling.

Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.

To avoid a circuit overload when using this product, do not operate another high-wattage product on the same electrical circuit.

Do not plug or unplug the product into/from an electrical outlet with a wet hand.

Take proper precautions to prevent the risk of burns, fire, or other personal or property damage as this appliance generates heat and escaping steam during use.

Use extreme caution when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.

If the product falls into water, immediately unplug it from the electrical outlet. Do not touch or reach into the water.

Use in a well-ventilated area. Keep at least 4-6 inches of space on all sides to allow adequate air circulation.

Do not operate the product if it has a damaged or cut power cord or plug, if it malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner, or if it has been dropped into water. This product has no user-serviceable parts. Do not attempt to examine or repair it yourself. Only qualified service personnel should perform any servicing; take the product to the appliance repair shop of your choice for inspection and repair.

Before connecting the appliance, check whether the voltage indicated at the bottom of the sandwich maker corresponds to the local mains voltage.

Regularly check the main cord to see whether it is still in a safe condition.

The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.

This appliance is not intended for deep frying. Do not pour oil or grease on the non stick plates, as it may cause fire damage.

DO NOT move the unit when it is still hot.

Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot food.

When in use, keep the sandwich maker away from flammable materials, including furniture and curtains.

Do not attempt to dislodge food when the appliance is still plugged into the wall outlet.
• The sandwich maker is not intended to be operated with an external timer or separate remote control system. -
CAUTION: This appliance generates heat during use. Proper precautions must be taken to prevent the risk of burns, fires, or other damage to property caused by touching the appliance while in use or during cooling.
CAUTION – To reduce the risk of personal injury and/or product/property damage:
- This product is intended solely for indoor, non-commercial, non-industrial use in the cooking of sandwiches for human consumption. Do not use the product outdoors or for any other purpose.
- To avoid a pinch hazard, make sure fingers, hands, and other body parts are clear of the top and bottom plates when closing them.
- Always wear protective oven mitts or heat-resistant gloves when using this product.
- Do not allow the power cord to hang (e.g., over the edge of a table or counter) where it may be tripped over or pulled, and do not allow it to touch hot surfaces.
- Always operate the product on a flat, level, stable, heat-resistant surface.
- To disconnect from the electrical outlet, pull directly on the plug; do not pull on the Power Cord.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:
A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk of becoming entangled
in or tripping over a longer cord. Extension cords are available and may be
used if care is exercised in their use. If an extension cord is used:
— The marked electrical rating of the extension cord must be at least as great
as that of the product.
— Arrange the extension cord so that it will not drape over the countertop or
tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over
unintentionally.
WARNING: This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the
other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug will fit in a
polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet,
reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician.
Do not modify the plug in any way.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR FUTURE REFERENCE
Before First Use
- Open the unit by lifting up the handle.
- Use a damp cloth or sponge to wipe the cooking surfaces and let dry.
To Use
CAUTION – Always wear protective oven mitts or gloves when using this
product to avoid a burn hazard.
NOTICE – Use only heat-resistant, non-metal utensils with this product;
metal utensils may scratch the cooking surface.
NOTE – During the first use, this product may emit some light smoke. This
is normal and will subside with further use.

Wipe the non-stick cooking plates with a damp cloth or sponge.
-
When you first plug in the sandwich maker, the red light will illuminate to let you know the unit is on. Once the green light illuminates the sandwich maker is ready for use. Note that during cooking, the green indicator light will cycle on and off to maintain the correct temperature.

For a crispy, golden brown sandwich spread a thin layer of butter or margarine on the outward – facing slices.

Lay one buttered slice facing downwards on the lower cooking plate. Add your filling and cover with the second slice of bread with the buttered side facing the upper cooking plate.
Note: although there is room for 2 sandwiches you can toast one sandwich if needed. -
For optimal results, the filling should be placed well within the sandwich slices.

Lower the upper cooking plate carefully onto the bread until the sandwich maker is tightly clamped.

After 2-3 minutes lift the cool-touch handle to check whether the toasted sandwich is sufficiently browned. The cooking time required to obtain crisp, golden brown sandwiches depends on the type of bread, fillings, and your personal taste.

Once cooked, use a non-metallic utensil to remove the toasted sandwich. Do not use sharp or abrasive kitchen utensils to cut your sandwich while it is on the non-stick plate.

After use, unplug the sandwich maker from the wall outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning for storage.
Care and Maintenance

Wipe the cooking plates with a sponge or cloth dampened in warm, soapy water.

For stubborn grease, apply a small amount of cooking oil and leave on for several minutes. Remove with a paper towel.
Wipe non-stick plates with a damp cloth. -
Do not use abrasive or metal utensils.

Wipe exterior surfaces with a damp cloth.
-
Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquids.
