  • Reprocess all parts before first use (see below).
  • Clean all parts immediately after use.
  • When cleaning the feeder, do not turn the reservoir inside out.
  • Do not clean the reservoir with a sharp or hard object (such as a brush, a toothpick or sharp fingernails).

Before first use and once a day

  • Cover all parts with water and boil for five minutes.
  • Leave to dry on a clean cloth.

After each use

  • Disassemble the feeder into its parts. Make sure to separate the yellow valve plate from the reservoir. Also, separate the white membrane from the valve plate.
Note: You can re-use the milk that is left in the container. However, you must throw away the milk left in the reservoir. Therefore, hold the feeder above the sink. Carefully unscrew the lid and remove it together with the reservoir and valve plate, so as not to spill milk. Discard the leftover milk from the reservoir.

  • Rinse all parts with cold water (approx. 20 °C). Rinse the slit in the pads of the reservoir thoroughly, to remove as much milk residue as possible.

  • Clean all parts with plenty of warm, soapy water (approx. 30 °C). Use a commercially available washing-up liquid, preferably without artificial fragrances and colouring.

  • Rinse all parts with cold water (approx. 20 °C).

  • Alternatively, clean the product in the dishwasher. Place the parts on the top rack or in the cutlery section. Use a commercially available dishwashing detergent.

  • Leave to dry on a clean cloth.

Storage

Put the clean parts in a clean storage bag or a clean environment. It is important that all residual moisture dries. Do not store parts in an airtight container/bag.

How to use

  • You can use the SoftCup as an alternative to cup feeding.
  • It is recommended that the mother performs her first feeding(s) with the SoftCup under the supervision of a professional/ trained staff.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly with water and soap before touching the product (parts). Dry your hands with a fresh towel or a single-use paper towel.
  • Always check the temperature of the liquid before feeding.

Assembling the feeder

  • Hold the valve plate with the high rim facing upwards. Place the white membrane onto the valve plate, inside the rim. Push the membrane’s knob completely through the central hole of the valve plate.
  • Fill the container with the required amount of liquid.
  • Place the assembled valve with the high rim upwards onto the container opening.
  • Place the reservoir on the valve plate, such, that the rim is inside the reservoir.
  • Slide the lid over the reservoir. Screw all parts firmly together with the lid.

Filling the reservoir

  • Hold the feeder upright. Squeeze just below the pads to release some air out of the reservoir (see the above picture).
  • Keep squeezing while turning the feeder upside down.
  • Now release the pads. Some liquid will enter the reservoir.
  • Repeat the above steps until the reservoir is almost full.

Note: If the reservoir is not filling properly, check that the slit in the pad is open. Use stronger finger pressure to help flow the liquid.

Feeding

  • Hold the feeder horizontally, with a slight angle upwards. If you hold the container in this way, you can refill the reservoir automatically during the feeding, by squeezing just below the pads.
  • Gently squeeze the two pads on both sides of the reservoir, to push the liquid in the feeding tip of the reservoir.
  • Touch the infant’s lip with the tip of the reservoir to encourage the infant to open its mouth.
  • Lay the reservoir on the infant’s lower lip (with the feeding tip upwards). Carefully tap on the feeder so that the liquid pooling in the reservoir can be fed to the infant. Usually, the infant will automatically lap the liquid.

Note: If the feeder leaks, check that the feeder has been correctly assembled.

  • Material: Reservoir and valve membrane: silicone; rest: polypropylene.
  • Disposal: According to local regulations.
