1. Introduction
Intended Use of SmartDrive MX2+ App
The SmartDrive MX2+ software application (app) is intended to be used on the Push Tracker E2 (Tic Watch E2) to operate the SmartDrive Wheelchair Power Assist device.
Refer to the labelling and documentation of other components or product for their intended use, instruction, wireless, EMI and all other specification / information.
Warnings and Safety Precautions
All warnings and safety precautions issued by one’s wheelchair manufacturer must be heeded in addition to those stated in this and any other provided manuals / instructions / guides, to include that provided within the SmartDrive MX2+ app. Failure to do so could result in serious injury or death
Use of the SmartDrive MX2+ app or the SmartDrive by anyone who has not received proper instruction from this manual, the SmartDrive User’s Manual and any other provided manuals / instructions / guides may result in serious injury or death.
Use of the SmartDrive MX2+ app is to be ONLY on the Push Tracker E2 (Tic Watch E2) as made available by Premorbid [SmartDrive] / Max Mobility.
Always inspect your Push Tracker E2 for missing parts / damage prior to each use.
Make sure your Push Tracker E2 is charged before use.
When crossing major roads, intersection, railway crossings or highways as well as when you drive steep, long slopes you should always consider having somebody accompany you in the interest of your safety.
The Push Tracker E2 should ONLY be worn by the user sitting in the wheelchair with the SmartDrive attached.
Always turn OFF the power assist [via SmartDrive MX2+ app] when parked to prevent accidental activation.
Always turn OFF the power assist [via the SmartDrive MX2+ app] before taking the Push Tracker E2 off of your wrist.
Tapping force does not need to be excessive or “hard”. Gentle, stiff wrist taps at a reasonable speed [i.e. one half (0.5) second between taps] is sufficient. Refer to the SmartDrive User’s Manual for complete instruction.
Always use caution when transferring in or out of the wheelchair. Every precaution should be taken to reduce the transfer distance and be certain the wheel locks are engaged to prevent the wheels from moving. Also always make sure the power assist is OFF [via the SmartDrive MX2+ app] when transferring to and from your chair.
The Push Tracker E2 has passed industry climate testing, and is considered swim ready [up to 50 m]. Refer to the other provided manuals / instructions / guides for complete detail regarding its water respace performance.
Ensure your device is running the latest versions.

Device Serial Number:____
Electromagnetic Interference (EMI)
Refer to the SmartDrive User’s Manual for EMI specifications.
Bluetooth Wireless Communication
Bluetooth wireless communication [2.4 GHz frequency band] is used by the Push Tracker E2 to communicate to the SmartDrive when to activate/deactivate the power assist, send and receive signals from a smartphone, etc. The Push Tracker E2 must be within 25 ft (8 meters) of the SmartDrive / smartphone to connect and communicate. The maximum output power of this technology is 10 mW, and the operation of this device in close proximity to other wireless devices [i.e. electromagnetic security systems, Bluetooth headsets, etc.] could cause the device to lose connection. Power assist is always deactivated whenever the motor is driving and there is a loss of connection; the SmartDrive will beep and Push Tracker E2 will also give indication when this happens. Worst case coexistence testing was performed on the device to ensure its safety and effectiveness. Please contact Premorbid [SmartDrive] / Max Mobility immediately for troubleshooting if continuous connection issues are experienced with the device.
2. Using Your Push Tracker E2
Attaching Your Push Tracker E2
The Push Tracker E2 is designed to comfortably and securely attach to the top part of wrists of all sizes. It has an embedded accelerometer to recognize when you push, when you want to activate the power assist and also when you tap your hand against the hand rim to deactivate the power assist. Additionally, it is equipped with an AMOLED screen and vibration motor to indicate different information, states and activations / deactivations that occur during everyday use.
The band on the Push Tracker E2 is designed for most users; but if you have difficulty securing the buckle / clasp, it doesn’t fit right, or you wish to have one of a different colour / material, the band can be easily replaced with essentially any 0.87 in (22 mm) wide off-the shelf watch band of your choosing.
It is recommended that your Push Tracker be worn snug on your wrist to get the most reliable recognition of your hand movement for SmartDrive operation, propulsion activity tracking, etc. Ability to operate / maneuverer the wheelchair can be affected if the Push Tracker, watches, jewellery, etc. are worn loosely or positioned such that they can become loose and interfere with hand rim operation.
Initial Set-Up
After powering on, follow the prompts closely on the Push Tracker E2. If any serious difficulties are experienced during set-up, go to the Premorbid [SmartDrive] / Max Mobility website for more information and support.
Manual setting of the time, time zone and preferred format is required, and this is done in the separate Settings app. After opening that app, enter the System menu to then access the “Date & time” submenu. To manually set these, toggle OFF the “Automatic” options then configure each to the correct and / or preferred values.
Upon successful completion, open the SmartDrive MX2+ app on the Push Tracker E2, either from the app list or from the button on the selectable SmartDrive MX2+ watch face.
SmartDrive Pairing
Initial pairing of the Push Tracker E2 to a SmartDrive is required, and this is done in the SmartDrive MX2+ app. If the SmartDrive MX2+ app has not been previously paired to a SmartDrive, turning power assist ON will initiate the pairing. If the SmartDrive MX2+ app has been previously paired to a SmartDrive, pairing can be done in the Settings menu on the app.
Power Assist Activated
After successful pairing, power assist is turned ON and the SmartDrive MX2+ app is connected to the SmartDrive, the Indication will flash blue. When the SmartDrive motor is driving, the Indication will be solid blue. The Indication will flash red when the SmartDrive MX2+ App is trying to connect or has lost wireless connection to the SmartDrive. Whenever there is a change of state to the SmartDrive, you will feel vibration as additional indication from your Push Tracker E2.
When power assist is ON and the SmartDrive motor is driving, the SmartDrive MX2+ app will display your current speed. The Indication will light up with various colours to notify you of the SmartDrive’s current state.
