INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on choosing this quality SCOTT product. Before use, please
read the following instructions carefully and keep these instructions in safe
custody. This specific product line has been developed to offer you the best
comfort and fit.
SCOTT Sports SA shall not accept any complaints arising from using the product
for other pur-poses than that indicated in the present information notice, nor
shall they be liable for any dam-ages and / or losses.
LEGAL REQUIREMENTS
This SCOTT product is considered to be an item of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) of Catego-ry II and as such is subject to the requirements laid down by the Regulation (EU) 2016 / 425.
RELEVANT STANDARDS
This product meets the testing and technical requirements set out by the
standard EN 1621-2 : 2014 (please refer to the labelling inside the product).
INTENDED USE AND LIMITATIONS
This SCOTT product is strictly limited for the respective use indicated by the pictograms on the certi-fied label on the product (see chapter IV. Product Information). The protector is not to be used above or below indicated temperatures, nor for other kinds of sports. The intended and reasonably foresee-able use of this product is solely : wintersports, off-road motosports or bike.

A. RISK AGAINST WHICH THE PPE IS SUPPOSED TO PROTECT
This SCOTT product is designed and manufactured to provide limited protection against the risk of shock in the event of a fall. The product does not safeguard against other traumas or extreme movements. This product provides limited protection only in the areas covered by the equipment. The product can arch both forward and backward to simulate and support natu-ral movement. These movements prevent the direct transmission of forces to the edge of the protector. This SCOTT product does not safeguard against traumas caused by twisting, tor-sion or extreme movements. -
B. LEVEL OF PROTECTION
These SCOTT Products have been designed within the requirements of the European safety standard EN 1621-2 : 2014 “Motocyclist’s protective clothing against mechanical impact – Part 2 : Motorcyclists’ back protector – Requirements and tests method”. The back protectors have been examined and certified according to EN 1621-2 : 2014 and have been classified as type FB (= Full Back), level 1 or 2 ( Please ref. to point & chapter IV). -
C. PERFORMANCE RECORDED
In addition to the standard conditioning provided by the norm, certain of our protectors have been subjected to temperature conditioning before impact tests in order to prove their perfor-mance under cold and warm temperatures, please ref. to point & chapter IV. -
D. MISUSES
Bending or twisting the protector excessively is considered improper use and it may cause the loss of protective properties or damage the equipment.
Changes in environmental conditions such as temperature and wetness could significantly reduce the performance of the protector. Never tamper with any part of the protectors. Do not paint the protector nor use colorants of any nature.
During use, the protector’s temperature must not drop below -10 °C.
We recommend that the SCOTT product should not be left outside, exposed to low tempera-tures or direct sunlight before use. Any product modifications may cause loss of protection and are therefore considered as improper use.

ZONE OF PROTECTION
FB : Full Back protector
Protective device worn on the back intended to reduce the severity of injuries
caused by impacts to the central back and scapula area.
CB : Central Back protector
Protective device worn on the back intended to reduce the severity of injuries
caused by impacts to central back. No scapula protection in case of central
back protector.
LB : Lower Back Protector
Protective device worn on the back intended to reduce the severity of injuries
caused by impacts to the lumbar region. No upper back protection in case o f
lumbar protector.
LEVEL
The performance is based on the amount of impact transmission measured in kN
(kilo Newton).
The EN 1621-2 : 2014 provides 2 Levels of protection : Level 1 and Level 2.
According to EN 1621-2 : 2014 : Level 1 protectors shall have an average peak
force below 18 kN and each single strike shall not exceed 24 kN Level 2
protectors shall have an average peak force below 9 kN. and each single strike
shall not exceed 12 kN. Level 2 protectors offer higher performance than Level
1 protectors.
Level 2 protectors offer the highest Level specified by the CE standard. Due
to the extra Level of protection Level 2 protectors may be heavier, thicker
and less ergonomic than the Level 1 protectors. It is up to the responsibility
of the rider to choose the correct Level of protection according to their
needs, their experience, their performance and skills.
TEMPERATURE
T+ means the protection is tested and certified for temperatures up to +40
degrees Celsius
T- means the protection is tested and certified for temperatures down to –10
degrees Celsius
All SCOTT protections are certified with ambient and wet conditioning. Wet
conditioning testing is used to simulate the high humidity experienced during
sports.
TIME OF OBSOLESCENCE
Personal protective equipment has limited lifespan. For optimum safety, SCOTT
recommends replacing your product three (3) years after the purchasing date.
The product may lose its protective properties after heavy impacts or impacts
that result in damages to the product. In such cases, the product must be
replaced.
SCOTT shall not be liable for damages relating to the use of products which
should have been replaced.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR SIZING, FIT
For the product to work properly, it must cover the protected area correctly. The product must have the correct size, chosen from the manufacturer’s size chart. To obtain maximum comfort and protec-tion, the SCOTT protection must be adjusted correctly as follows:
CHOOSING THE CORRECT SIZE
- Measure from the recommended waist line 2 according to your height (see chart 1) to your shoulder according to “human body image” point 1.
- Then refer to the recommended product size found on the product size chart.

POSITION AND FIT
For the product to work properly, it must cover the protected area correctly.
The garment must have the correct size, chosen from the manufacturer’s size
chart.
The product is designed to stay firmly in contact with the skin / body. Straps
and elastic bands should be fastened tightly to guarantee stability of the
equipment during use. Check that all clo-sure systems are securely closed. The
product should fit snugly but not too tightly. For maximum protection and
safety, it should not cause any discomfort.
One single size cannot fit all body dimensions (height and shape) so it is
important to avoid choosing a protector that is too big as interference with
other accessories may occur resulting in a dangerous riding condition. The
dimension is intended to be measured on the body with a tape measure.

INSTRUCTIONS
Wear and tear, dirt or any kind of damage may compromise the effectiveness of the equipment. Contamination with foreign substances and improper care can seriously compromise the effec-tiveness of your equipment and reduce its performance.
CLEANING & CARE
Washing instructions are indicated on the equipment. Remove any dirt with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not bleach, iron or dry clean your product. Do not use hair dryers or other heaters to dry it. Do not use solvents or toxic substances to clean it.
- Vest : remove the plate before washing. The vest can be machine washed.
- Back protector : plate is not removable, hand wash only.
All plates are removable expect for B2002_06, B2002_07, B2002_14, B2001_01, B2002_14. This product contains no known harmful substances : it is not known to undergo alteration from contact with sweat, or with substances likely to be found in toiletries, and is not known to cause harm to human skin and body. You can find material details on the product care label.
STORAGE
Do not store your product in direct sunlight. Do not expose your product to
extreme hot and cold temperatures like those found in closed cars or outdoor
storage units. Hang your gear to dry away from direct heat sources. SCOTT
recommends to store your gear at a temperature between 0°C and 30°C.
The equipment should be cleaned thoroughly before storing for long periods.
Keep it in its origi-nal packaging during storage and transportation.
B2002_14, B2002_15 & B2002_16 : If your product deteriorates as a result of
exposure to heat or improper storage it is not covered by any SCOTT warranty.
CHECKING OF WEAR AND TEAR
It is recommended to regularly inspect your gear. If doubtful, please ask an
expert or your friendly dealer. The protection it offers could be reduced due
to mechanical wear or improp-er use. Before use, please check the product for
any damage to the straps, stitching and pads. Dispose of the product if you
notice any damage.
B2002_14, B2002_15 & B2002_16 : In case of rental of your gear it is
recommended to inspect it before any hand-over to the renter. In case of
rental please be aware that the aforementioned replacement period might be
significantly shortened due to frequent use.
DISPOSAL
Dispose of the products in the domestic waste. Do not tamper or incinerate the
product. This may lead to potential hazards.
WARNING
- No SCOTT equipment can offer full protection against injury. Any contamination, alteration to the product or misuse could dangerously reduce the performance of the equipment.
- Spinal injuries will not be prevented by a back protector.
- This product must always be used with the inserted protector !
