GENERAL SAFETY ADVICE

READ THE OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE FIRST USE OF THE APPLIANCE.

Read the following instructions carefully, since they give you useful safety information about installation, use and maintenance and help you avoid mishaps and possible accidents.

Remove the packing and make sure that the appliance is intact, with special attention to the supply cable. The elements of the packing (plastic bags, polystyrene, etc) do not have to be accessible to the children, in order to preserve them from danger sources.

It is recommended not to throw these packing material in the domestic waste, but to deliver them to the appropriate station of collection or destruction refusals, asking eventually information to the manager of the Sanitation Department of your own municipality.

Before connecting the appliance make sure that the mains voltage corresponds to the data specified on the label.

If the plug does not suit the socket, let it be replaced with another suitable plug by qualified personnel only, which shall also ensure that the section of the socket cables is suitable for your appliance power absorption.

Never pull the supply cord to unplug the appliance.

Make sure that the supply cord never comes into contact with hot or cutting surfaces
Do not use this appliance if the supply cord is damaged. In case of damage, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

Only connect this appliance on alternating current Generally, the use adaptors multiple plugs and/or extensions is not recommended; should they be necessary, please use only simple or multiple adaptors and extensions in compliance with the safety rules in force, making sure that the capacity absorption limit marked on the simple adaptors and the extensions and the maximum power limit marked on the multiple adaptor are not exceeded.

This appliance is to be destined to its special purpose only.

Any other use is to be considered as improper and thus dangerous.

The manufacturer cannot be responsible for any damages deriving from improper, wrong or incautious use.

To avoid any heating risk, it is recommended to unroll completely the supply cord and to unplug the appliance, when not used.

Before cleaning, always unplug the appliance.

To protect against electric shock, do not immerse cord, plug or any parts of the appliance into water or other fluids.

Do not hold the appliance with wet hands or feet.

Do not hold the appliance with naked feet.

Do not expose the appliance to atmospheric agents such as rain, wind, snow, hail.

Do not use the appliance near explosives, highly flammable materials, gases, burning flames, heaters.

DO NOT ALLOW CHILDREN, DISABLED PEOPLE OR EVERY PEOPLE WITHOUT EXPERIENCE OR TECHNICAL ABILITY TO USE THE APPLIANCE IF THEY ARE NOT PROPERLY WATCHED OVER. CLOSE SUPERVISION IS NECESSARY WHEN ANY APPLIANCE USED BY OR NEAR CHILDREN.

MAKE SURE THAT CHILDREN DO NOT PLAY WITH THIS APPLIANCE.

IF YOU DECIDE NOT TO USE THE APPLIANCE ANY LONGER, MAKE IT UNSERVICEABLE BY SIMPLY CUTTING THE SUPPLY CABLE AFTER DISCONNECTING THE PLUG FROM THE SOCKET.

ALSO MAKE ANY DANGEROUS PARTS UNSERVICEABLE, ESPECIALLY FOR CHILDREN WHO COULD PLAY WITH THE APPLIANCE.

USE AND SAFETY ADVICE

Connect the rice cooker on the socket.

Always disconnect the cord supply from the socket and let the appliance cool down, turn off the appliance when not used, for changing accessories or cleaning.

Do not let the cord supply pending outside the table.
Do not let the appliance on without supervision.

Open and lift the lid with care and let water drops run into the rice cooker to protect you from burning.

Place the rice cooker on a plane, heat-resistant, damp-resistant surface.

Do not put the rice cooker directly on fire or electric plates.

Do not use the rice cooker where there is water.

Do not stand the rice cooker closed to walls (minimum distance at least 10 cm) or on a shelf.

Do never put objects on the rice cooker. The steam exits on the lid do never be closed when the rice cooker is operating. Put water only into the container before turning on the rice cooker.

Attention : when the rice cooker is working, steam is very hot !

After boiling, open the lid with handle very carefully.

Let the rice cooker cool down before cleaning or storing it.

Keep away from children. Use the rice cooker only for cooking.

USE INSTRUCION

FIRST USE

Remove the packing of the rice cooker and check all elements are in good conditions.

Wash with warm water and wash liquid: container for rice, container for steam cooking, le measuring cup and spoon; rinse and wipe well.

Clean inside the rice cooker with a cloth lightly damp and wipe well.

MEASURING CUP

The measuring cup is used, with the water level indicator into the container for rice, to determinate rice and water quantities. For example, to cook 6 cups, pour 6 measuring cups of rice into the container for rice and fill with water until water level indicator 6 cups.

HOW TO USE THE RICE COOKER

Cooking rice

  1. Before using the appliance for the first time, wash all the elements (inside container, lid, measuring cup and spoon) with warm water and wash liquid. Wipe well all.
  2. Place the rice cooker on a plane, dry, heat and damp resistant surface, away from walls and furnitures.
  3. Use the measuring cup to measure the quantity of rice and put it into a sieve (fig. 2).

1 cup of rice = 150 g = approx. 2 / 3 portions.

  1. Rinse rice before putting it into the container for rice. Do not rinse rice into the container for steam cooking, that could damaged because of material and surface.
  2. Pour cold water (or stock) into the inside container until the indicator corresponding to the number of cups used (fig. 3).

Do not fill over the MAX. indicator (8 cups) or under MIN. indicator (2 cups).

  1. Make sure the external part of the inside container is dry (fig. 4), put it into the rice cooker and put the lid on. Do not use the rice cooker without lid.

  2. Connect the plug to the rice cooker (fig. 5), connect the plug to the socket and turn on the rice cooker. The KEEP WARM light indicator lights. For security reason do not let the cord supply pending outside the table.

  3. Press switch downward (fig. 6), the COOKING light indicator lights and the rice cooker starts.

  4. After few minutes water start to boil and steam will exit from the lid.
    Do never close the steam exits on the lid.

  5. When cooking session is almost finished (water level is low), lift the lid and mix rice with spoon.

  6. When cooking session is complete, the COOKING light turn off and the KEEP WARM indicator lights. Cooking times depend of quantity and quality of rice; below see approximative time cooking for white rice:

    • 2 cups: 15/20 minutes
    • 4 cups: 20/25 minutes
    • 6 cups: 25/30 minutes
    • 8 cups: 20/35 minutes
  7. To obtain a soft white rice, let rice into the rice cooker for 15 minutes before opening the lid, mix with the spoon and serve. Do not use metallic spoon into the inside container that could damage it.

  8. To turn off the rice cooker, disconnect it from the socket.

When water into the container for rice is completely absorbed, the rice cooker will automatically enter in KEEP WARM function and finish cooking.

ATTENTION ! Be careful of boil steam exits.

The rice cooker does not be used to cook milk rice pudding; milk could overflow and burn.

NOTE:.

  • The container of the rice cooker is equipped with a pressure pick-up and the switch of cooking does not function if the cooker is empty or if there is no lid. Always check that the indicator of cooking lights after pressing switch.
  • Rice is a natural product and the quantity of water necessary for cooking will vary according to the type of rice and the personal tastes.
  • The rice cooked is not suitable for cooking rice having a very long tome cooking.

Steam cooking

For steam cooking the delicate procedure is to cook food with hot water steam, this way food preserves all the food values

  1. Put rice into the rice cooker.
  2. Pour 1 measuring cup of water into the container.
  3. Put the steam cooking container.
  4. Put food into the steam cooking container.
  5. Close the lid.
  6. Connect to the socket; KEEP WARM indicator lights.
  7. Dress down switch on, COOKING light indicator lights, and steam cooking starts. Do never cover steam exits of the lid.
  8. It could be necessary to add water during evaporation.

When water into the container for rice is completely absorbed, the rice cooker will automatically enter in KEEP WARM function and finish cooking.

ATTENTION ! Be careful of boil steam exits.

The rice cooker does not be used to cook milk rice pudding; milk could overflow and burn.

The times of cooking indicated in the table are indicative and approximate. It is eventually possible to make personal corrections if required.

Time cooking can change according to the quantity of food to cook, the provision inside the container of cooking, the freshness of food and the personal tastes.

CLEANING AND CARE

Before cleaning always disconnect the cord supply from the socket and wait until the rice cooking is completely cool down.

Do never immerse the rice cooker and cord supply into water.

Clean the container for rice, steam cooking container, measuring cup and spoon with warm water and wash liquid, rinse and wipe well.

Clean the lid and inside/outside the rice cooker with a damp cloth, and wipe all.

Do not use abrasive detergents.

GUARANTEE CERTIFICATE

This appliance has been checked in the factory. From the date of original purchase a 24 month guarantee applies to material and production defects. The purchase receipt and the guarantee certificate must be submitted together in case of claim to guarantee.

The guarantee is valid only with a guaranty certificate and proof of purchase (fiscal receipt) indicating the date of purchase and the model of the appliance

For any technical assistance, please contact directly the seller or our head office in order to preserve the appliance’s efficiency and NOT TO void the guarantee. Any intervention on this appliance by non-authorized persons will automatically void the guarantee.

GUARANTEE CONDITIONS

If the appliance shows defects as a result of faulty material and/or production during the period of guarantee, we guarantee repair free of charge on condition that:

  • The appliance has been used properly and for the purpose for which it has been intended.
  • The appliance has not been tampered with, otherwise it is not maintainable.
  • The purchase receipt shall be presented.
  • The appliance showing a fair wear and tear shall not be covered by this guarantee.

Therefore, any part that could be accidentally broken or having visible signs of use in consumable products (such as lamps, batteries, heating elements…) the aesthetic parts are excluded from the guarantee, and any defect whatsoever resulting from non-respect of the rules for use, negligence in usage and/or maintenance of the appliance, carelessness, wrong or improper installation, damage during transport and any other damage not attributable the supplier.

For every defect that could not be repaired within the guarantee period, the appliance will be replaced free of charge.

In any case, if the part to be replaced for defect, breakage or malfunction is an accessory and/or a detachable part of the product, Beper reserves the right to replace only the very part in question and not the entire product.
