Switch-3

  1. Use a grounding wire to ground the unit by connecting one end to the grounding terminal and the other end to a suitable grounded object.
Note: Do not omit this step. Proper grounding helps prevent damage to the unit from power surges or static electricity.

  2. Connect 2 sets of keyboards, monitors, and mice into the unit’s console 1 and console 2 ports.
Note: Any combination of PS/2 and/or USB keyboard and mouse connections can be used.

  3. Use a Cat 5e/6 cable to connect any available KVM port to a KVM adapter appropriate for the computer you are installing.
Note: For a resolution of 1280 x 1024, the recommended length of the Cat 5e/6 cable shall not exceed 50 meters.

  4. Connect the KVM adapter to the computer by plugging its connectors to the computer’s corresponding ports.

  5. Use the power cord to connect the unit’s power socket to an AC power source.

  6. Turn on the unit. Once it is ready, you can turn on the computers to be controlled.

Operation

On-device Port Selection

To switch from one port to another, simply press the port selection pushbutton that corresponds to the computer you wish to access.

  2. On the login dialog that appears, provide a valid username and password to log in.
    • For first-time login, use the default username and password, administrator and password, and press [Enter]. The OSD main screen appears in Administrator mode.
Hotkey Mode

To enter the Hotkey mode for port switching and setting adjustments using hotkeys, press and hold [Num Lock] and press [-], then release both keys. Refer to the hotkey table below for the different functions that can be performed.
