CAUTION:
- Use the included connection cable exclusively. Altering or replacing it will void your warranty.
- The camera is water- and dustproof and has been licensed according to the international standard IP68. However, vehicle cleaning using high pressure water and steam jet devices may still lead to damage of IP68 rated camera models by water intrusion. Keep a distance of at least one meter between the water nozzle and the camera housing.
INSTALLATION
The OE brake light insert can be unclipped from the vehicle. Access to the stainless steel brackets to unlock the OE brake light is vehicle type dependent. Two basic fi ttings exist: the brake light insert is mounted directly on the sheet metal body or else, it is fi xed to the vehicle in a black plastic frame. Vehicles with plastic frame allow to unscrew the frame / brake light assembly, while Transit models with fully integrated brake lights must be accessed via vehicle interior. Remove the plastic covers in the roof area of the vehicle to unlock the fi xation clamps of the OE brake light with needle nose pliers. Once the brake light is lose, unplug the power supply connector on the backside.
For OE brake light with plastic frame: Unclip the plastic frame from the OE brake light and re-install it on the ZE-RCE3804 cam. Next, route the 10 m extension cable from the dashboard to the mounting location of the camera. Connect the A/V RCA connectors to the appropriate cam inputs of your head unit, as indicated in the wiring diagram above. Then connect the red/black power supply wires to the cam power outputs of your HU. Insert the power supply connector on the backside of the ZE-RCE3804 cam housing. With all wiring steps complete, insert the cam into the sheet metal recess and press the cam into position until the stainless steel clips lock in place.
