ZENEC MIB2 – Z-E1010 Update Installation MainSystem
Requirements
The update consists of a complete MainSystem software update, which must be
run from USB data carrier. You will need:

USB removable storage device (USB stick) with at least 2 GB storage capacity.

A PC or notebook with Windows operating system.
Please note:
- Before you start, the USB stick must be formatted with FAT 32. (Right-click on USB memory device in Windows Explorer. Select “Format” > FAT 32 > Start.
- The ZENEC Z-E1010 restarts several times during the software update and stays off, among other things, for a few seconds (black screen for approx. 5 ~ 10 sec.) before the device restarts. Please do not operate or switch off the device during the update process. After successful installation the tuner source will come up.
ATTENTION: After successful software installation, the Z-E1010 device must be set to MIB2 High-Speed CAN data recognition (!)
Installation of the MainSystem software update via USB:
The MainSystem software can be found at: www.zenec.com

- Download the Software Update “Z-E1010_Core_SW_v3.4.exe”.
- The software package is a self-unzipping executable. Start extraction with a double-click and select your USB stick as target for the uncompressed fi les.
- You obtain a update fi le called „Android7.1.2_20211130.1542_zenec_core.img” in the root directory of the USB stick.
- Connect the USB stick to the Z-E1010 USB-1 connection cable.
- Go to the device menu:
Settings > System > Software Update and confi rm by tapping on the green hook checkbox.
- The update dialog menu is shown. Make sure that, the checkboxes [TUNER DB] and [OS] are selected.
- Tap on the „YES“ button to start the update process.
- The update installs sequentially and the lower part of the display screen informs about the progress. The software installation takes about 4~5 minutes.
- After successful software installation, the device reboots serval time and then the MainMenu will show up.
- Remove the USB stick.
- Attention: The desired vehicle platform (MIB2) must be set now. To change the platform type to MIB2 a password must be entered (avoiding accidental change of platform setting).
- In the device main menu, tap on the icon “Settings” ► “Password Function” and enter 778166. Confi rm the password with “OK”. And confi rm the “MIB2 platform update” popup window with “YES”.
- The device does install the (MIB2-MCU) software and performs a reboot – platform switch changes to MIB2.
- After successful MIB platform configuration (MIB-2 software installation) the main menu is displayed.
- Version check
Please do not operate or switch off the device during the restart process (duration approx. 3 minutes). After restart, the MainMenu will show up
Version control
After installing the software update a version check needs to be carried out.
In the device menu: Settings > System > Software Version Info.
Version: v3.4
If the version differs from the target version, install the update anew.

- Added headlight range control for VW Passat, Skoda Octavia und other VW/Skoda vehicles, adjustable via Car Menu.
- Added ambient light control, adjustable via Car Menu.
- Integration of Webasto auxiliary heating, particular days can be set now.
- Added setup of dynamic damper control inside the Drive Mode feature, adjustable via Car Menu.
- Improved Drive Mode, button at dashboard will open the Drive Mode profile page with current selected mode. Current supported profiles: Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sport, Individual.
- Added support for steering wheel heating.
- Added control button for electrical front window heating via AC menu.
- Added control buttons for seat ventilation via AC menu.
- Added setting for driver alert system
- Added setting for rear traffic alert
- Added setting for lower passenger side mirror while reversing
- Fix for activating the lane assist
- Activated the road sign detection feature at multifunction display (MFD) by using the front camera*
- road sign detection will work only by the base of data provided by front camera, currently the navigation map data from Zenec device is not used to be compared for this feature. Due to this you might get the hint on your MFD “Road sign detection limited”.
