ZENEC Z-E1010 MIB2 Core 10.1 Inch Infotainer

Requirements

ATTENTION: The Z-E1010 device must be prepared for operation and software installation with a frame kit-/ power cable suitable for MIB1 vehicles. After successful software installation, the Z-E1010 device must be set to MIB1 Low- Speed CAN data recognition (!) This is done by changing a switch in the device setup of the Z-E1010.

Note: With the factory setting of the CAN data recognition in the device setup menu to MIB2, the Z-E1010 in MIB1 vehicles receives no power when connected in the vehicle, since MIB1 low-speed CAN data are not recognized by the device. The update consists of a complete MainSystem software update, which must be run from a USB data carrier. You will need:

  • USB removable storage device (USB stick) with at least 2 GB storage capacity.
  • A PC or notebook with Windows operating system.

Please note

  • Before you start, the USB stick must be formatted with FAT 32. (Right-click on the USB memory device in Windows Explorer. Select “Format” > FAT 32 > Start.
  • The ZENEC Z-E1010 restarts several times during the software update and stays off, among other things, for a few seconds (black screen for approx. 5 ~ 10 sec.) before the device restarts. Please do not operate or switch off the device during the update process. After successful installation, the tuner source will come up.

Installation of the main system software update via USB

The main system software can be found at: www.zenec.com > Support> Software Updates > Z-E1010 Link: http://www.zenec.com/support/software-updates/e-go- core-z-e1010/?lang=en

  1.  MIB1 power cable prepare for software installation – see MIB1 > MIB2 Setup Instructions EGO_CORE_MIB1-MIB2_Setup_EN_RevA (Quadlock II cable harness preparation). Connect the female “ACC” bullet connector to its male “ACC” counterpart. See figure.
  2. Download the Software Update “Z-E1010_Core_SW_v3.4.exe”.ZENEC-Z-E1010-MIB2-Core-10-1-Inch-Infotainer-fig-2
  3. The software package is a self-unzipping executable. Start extraction with a double-click and select your USB stick as a target for the uncompressed files.
  4. You obtain an update file called „Android7.1.2_20211130.1542_zenec_core.img” in the root directory of the USB stick.
  5. Connect the USB stick to the Z-E1010 USB-1 connection cable.
  6. Go to the device menu: Settings > System > Software Update and confi rm by tapping on the green hook checkbox.
  7. The update dialog menu is shown. Make sure that, the checkboxes [TUNER DB] and [OS] are selected.
  8. Tap on the „YES“ button to start the update process.
  9. The update installs sequentially and the lower part of the display screen informs about the progress. The software installation takes about 4~5 minutes.
  10. After successful software installation, the device reboots serval time and then the MainMenu will show up.
  11. Remove the USB stick.
  12. Attention: The desired vehicle platform (MIB1) must be set now. To change the platform type to MIB1 a password must be entered (avoiding accidental change of platform setting).
  13. 13. In the device main menu, tap on the icon “Settings” ► “Password Function” and enter 808135. Confi rm the password with “OK”. And confi rm the “MIB1 platform update” popup window with “YES”.
  14. The device does install the (MIB1-MCU) software and performs a reboot – platform switch changes to MIB1.
  15. After successful MIB platform configuration (MIB-1 software installation) the main menu is displayed.
  16. Now disconnect the cables with the “ACC” flag on the wiring harness.
  17. Version check.

Please do not operate or switch off the device during the restart process (duration approx. 3 minutes). After restart, the MainMenu will show up.

Version control

  • After installing the software update a version check needs to be carried out. In the device menu: Settings > System > Software Version Info.

Version: v3.4

  • If the version differs from the target version, install the update anew.

  • Local tuner slideshow database update to v1.21

MEDIA PLAYER

  • Bugfix for last playback issue sometimes on USB-2

BLUETOOTH

  • Font and brightness improvements in various Bluetooth pages
