iottie Aivo View Smart Dash Cam App
Getting Started
Open the iOttie Connect App and select the connected device, Aivo View.
- The Aivo View Dash Cam connects to your phone via Wi-Fi, please make sure Wi-Fi is turned on.
- This uses the Dash Cam’s Wi-Fi connection to your phone. It does not use your phone’s cellular data.
- Cellular data is only required for voice-activated Alexa operations and/or sharing photo/video files from your phone.
Connecting to Wi-Fi navigates out of the iOttie Connect App and launches your phone’s Wi-Fi Settings.
Wi-Fi Name: Aivo View-XXXX
Password: 12345678
Once connected, return to the iOttie Connect App to manage the Aivo View Dash Cam.
For AndroidTM devices, your Internet and cellular connection will not work until you open the iOttie Connect App after connecting to the Dash Cam Wi-Fi.
If your car supports wireless Apple CarPlay, you may not be able to stay connected to your Aivo View in the iOttie Connect App.
Live View
From here, you can:
- See a Live View in full-screen
- Mute audio recording
- Take a photo
- Record a video
- Manage settings
- Access photo/video albums
Recording Videos
From the App
Tap on the video icon in the app’s home screen (Live View) to record a user
video from the App.
User video will start recording. Hit the video button again to stop recording.
To see the recorded video, tap on the albums icon at the bottom of the screen,
and go to your user album.
Via Bluetooth Remote
Hold the Bluetooth Remote Button for 2 seconds to record a user video. User
videos will be saved in your user album.
Via Alexa
Ask Alexa to have Dash Cam record a video.
User videos will be saved in your user album.
Taking Photos
From the App
Tap on the camera icon in the app’s home screen (Live View) to take a photo
from the App.
To see the picture taken, tap on the album icon at the bottom of the screen,
and go to your user album.
Via Bluetooth Remote
Click the Bluetooth Remote Button to take a photo. Photos will be saved in
your user album.
Via Alexa
Ask Alexa to have Dash Cam take a photo.
Photos will be saved in your user album.
Album
Videos and photos from the SD Card can be categorized into 5 different albums.
Loop Videos
The Aivo View records on a continuous loop whenever it is powered on. The
camera defaults to two-minute cycles, but it’s possible to adjust loop length
in the settings.
To access the recordings, tap the album icon at the bottom of the screen. Loop
recordings is the first tab shown.
Each loop is dated for quick ID purposes.
They are originally saved to the SD Card and can then be downloaded to your
smartphone.
User Videos & Photos
To access pictures and video taken by the user, tap the album icon at the
bottom of the screen.
Then click the User tab. All photos and videos taken by the user appear here.
To get a specific picture, tap on the image and hit select.
Photos and user videos are originally saved to the SD Card and can be
downloaded to your smartphone. Tap on each one to see what’s saved there.
Emergency Videos
In the event of any type of collision, the Dash Cam will take 15 seconds from
the loop video preceding the incident, as well as 45 seconds of the loop video
after the incident, and save them under the Emergency tab. The recordings are
originally saved to the SD Card and can be downloaded to your smartphone.
Downloaded Videos & Photos
Without connecting to the Aivo View Wi-Fi Network, downloaded videos and
photos appear in the Downloaded album. To save space and ensure there’s enough
room for new footage, regularly download files from the SD Card to a computer
or cloud.
Favorite Videos & Photos
Photos and videos can be marked as your favorites.
Device Settings
In the top right corner of the Dash Cam home screen (Live View) in the iOttie Connect App, you will find the Settings icon( ) where you can make changes and adjustments to the Device Settings.
Changing the Dash Cam Name
You can rename the Dash Cam by selecting Dash Cam Name from the Device
Settings. Once you rename the device, it is automatically saved.
Changing the Wi-Fi Name & Password
To change the Wi-Fi name or password, tap on the listed name to edit.
- You will be disconnected from the app and the Dash Cam’s network and will need to reconnect after changing the Wi-Fi name.
- Please note that changing the password will also disconnect you from the app and the Dash Cam’s Wi-Fi network.
- You will need to reconnect to your Dash Cam using the new password.
Speed Unit
Your video recordings are geotagged. Your tracked speed will appear in the
video stamp and be registered along with each video file.
You can select whether to display the speed in mph or km/h.
Volume
Adjust the external volume of the Aivo View Dash Cam.
Driving Mode Collision Sensitivity
The Dash Cam’s G-sensor can detect a sudden force, such as when a collision
occurs.
Adjust the sensitivity of the collision detection G-sensor or turn it off
completely.
- Level 1 is recommended.
Parking Mode
The Aivo View Dash Cam requires an external battery source in order to use
Parking Mode.
When connected directly to a battery source and with Parking Mode turned on,
the Dash Cam will register that the car has been parked after it stops for a
prolonged period of time.
Once engaged in Parking Mode, the Dash Cam turns off and stops recording until
it detects a collision or motion, based on the sensitivity settings.
Parking Mode Collision Sensitivity
Adjust the Parking Mode Collision Sensitivity of the G-sensor or turn it off
completely.
- Level 3 is recommended.
Motion Detection Sensitivity
The Motion Detection Sensitivity can also be adjusted or turned off
completely.
- Level 2 is recommended.
Video Settings
In the top right corner of the Dash Cam home screen (Live View), you will find the Settings icon where you can make adjustments or changes to the Video Settings.
Resolution
To adjust the resolution, select Resolution from the video settings menu and
tap on your desired value. (1080p/60fps is recommended). Based on resolution
settings, estimated recording times may vary.
For detailed information, please refer to the table on page 6 of the Setup Manual.
Loop Recording Duration
The Dash Cam automatically records on a continuous loop once it is powered on.
You can adjust the overall length of each loop video recording.
- 2 min is the default loop recording time.
User Video Duration
User videos are videos taken manually by the user (whether activated from the
iOttie Connect App, Bluetooth Remote Button,or Alexa). To adjust the maximum
length of a user-initiated video recording, select the desired length of time.
- 5 min is the default user video recording time.
WDR
Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) ensures clear recordings by improving the image
quality in both bright and dark conditions.
- Turn on/off the Wide Dynamic Range (WDR).
Record Audio
Audio is recorded with Dash Cam video by default. If you do not wish for the
Dash Cam to record audio from inside the car, this can be turned off.
Record GPS
Your video recordings are geotagged, tracking your positioning for the
duration of each video.
Turn GPS tracking on or off via a toggle within the setting.
Exposure
To adjust the exposure, select Exposure from the Video Settings menu and slide
the button to your desired value.
Video Watermark Label
To use a watermarked label, select Video Watermark Label from the Video
Settings menu and toggle to “on” to show dates and/or geographic coordinates.
Storage
To check storage, click on the Dash Cam settings icon and tap Storage.
Storage is broken down by overall use, loop recordings, user pictures/videos,
and emergency videos. If space is below 10% in any category, a warning will
appear. Delete any unused files to save storage space.
Firmware Update
To navigate to the manual firmware update, click on the Dash Cam settings
icon. Tap Firmware Update. Check to see if the firmware is up-to-date.
If not, hit the Update Firmware button.
