Getting started
Charging the battery
Vais is equipped with an internal rechargeable lithium-ion battery. Connect the micro USB cable, which is included in the delivery, to the micro USB charging port of the Vais (10). The USB plug of the cable can be connected to a computer or standard USB power supply. The red charging LED above the micro USB port will light up during charging. The usual charging time is 2-3 hours. When fully charged, the red LED will turn off.
Note: Charge the speaker for at least 2.5 hours before first use.
Switching on/off
To switch on, press and hold the On/Off key(4). The device switches on, a
signal sounds.
To switch off , press and hold the On/Off key (4). A signal sounds, the
device switches off.
Pairing with a Bluetooth® source
The speaker must be connected to a Bluetooth® device before it can be used for wireless music streaming.
- Switch on the speaker by pressing and holding the On/Off switch (4). The speaker automatically switches to pairing mode.
- Search for Bluetooth® audio devices with your Bluetooth® device from which audio data is to be played.
- The searching Bluetooth® indicates that it has found the speaker ,,Vais”.
- Confirm the pairing with ,,Vais”. Enter , ,0000″ if you are asked for a code.
When using a Bluetooth® device without a display, switch to pairing mode and wait a few seconds for the connection with the speaker to be established.
Note: If the connection is lost or the transmitter is disconnected for a short time, the Vais will automatically try to reconnect. If no connection is established after 3 minutes, the speaker switches to standby mode. To switch on, briefly press the On/Off button (4).
Music playback
Playing music via Bluetooth®
A Bluetooth® source must be paired with Vais to receive and output music wirelessly! Play or pause the music playback by briefly pressing the Play/Pause button (6).
Note: For music streaming, the audio source must support A2DP profile.
Music control
To play or pause music, briefly press the Play/Pause button (6).
To skip to the next title, briefly press the Next title key (7).
To skip to the previous title , briefly press the Previous title key (9).
Note: The phone must support A2DP and AVRCP profile to play and control music through the Vais speaker.
FM Radio
- Turn on the speaker by pressing the on/off switch (4).
- Please connect the 3.5mm jack audio cable as an antenna to receive the FM signal better.
- Press the Mode button (6) to switch to FM mode.
- Long press the Next title button (7) to automatically search for the next receivable station, or short press it to cycle through the next stations one by one.
- Long press the Previous title button (9) to automatically search for the previous receivable station, or short press it to cycle through the previous stations one by one.
Playback via line in
- Connect the device from which the music is to be played to the line in socket of the Vais (12) using the cable included in the scope of delivery.
- Switch on the speaker by pressing the On/Off switch (4). Press the mode button (6) once briefly to switch to line-in mode.
Note: The buttons have no function when using the wired connection. Use the audio source to control the music.
Playback from Micro SD card
- Place a Micro SD card in the card slot of the Val (11 ).
- The device will automatically switch to SD mode and the music will be output from the speaker.
Hands-free function
Due to the built-in microphone, the speaker is ideally suited to be used as a hands-free speaker for phone calls.
Note: High volume may cause feedback with the microphone. This will cause echo on the phone side, not on the speakerphone side.
Accepting/ending/rejecting calls
To answer an incoming call, press the Play/Pause/Mode button (6).
To end an ongoing call, press the Play/Pause/Mode button (6).
To reject incoming calls, press and hold the Play/Pause/Mode button (6)
for approx. 2 seconds. The call is rejected.
Volume setting
Increase volume: Turn the volume knob (8) to the right until the desired
volume is reached.
Decrease volume: Turn the volume knob (8) to the left until the desired
volume is reached.
Standby mode
With the speaker switched on, briefly press the On/Off key (4) to switch to standby mode. The lime is now permanently displayed. Press the key again to switch the speaker back on.
Time and alarm clock setting
Time setting
Briefly press the Alarmmme setting key (5) to enter the time setting. The
hours can be set with the rotary knob (8) and the setting confirmed with the
Alarm/Time setting key (5). After pressing the alarm/time setting key (5)
again, the minutes can be set with the rotary knob (8). To save the settings,
press the alarm/time setting key again or wait approx. 3 seconds.
Alarm setting
Press and hold the Alarm/Time setting key (5) for 1-2 seconds to enter the alarm setting. Set the alarm time as described under Time setting.
Alarm on/off
After the minute setting of the alarm time, press the Alarmmme setting key (5) again, now you can switch the alarm on (ON), or off (OFF) with the rotary knob (8).
To confirm the setting, briefly press the Alarm/Time setting key (5).
Then you can choose between a single alarm (ONE) or a repeating alarm (ALL)
with the rotary knob (8). By confirming the alarm/time setting (5) key again,
you can select the source of the alarm call. To do this, press the rotary knob
(8) and select between radio (Fn), wireless music transmission (bU) or
inserted SD card (Sd). To confirm the alarm settings,press the alarm/time
setting (5) button once. The display shows the time and an alarm symbol.
Sleep Timer – switch off time
In standby mode, briefly press the Play/Pause/Mode button (6) to set the sleep mode off time (00) and up to 90 minutes.
Wireless charging
Wireless charging enabled devices can be charged via the inductive charging
function.
Before wireless charging, make sure that the smartphone you are using supports
wireless charging.
Vais must be connected to a USB power supply with at least 1.5A. If this is
the case, place the smartphone on the wireless charging area. Please adjust
the smartphone on the charging surface. The charging process will start.
Remove objects that are between the charging surface and the smartphone.
Devices can be charged inductively with a maximum of 5 watts
NOTE: There must be no metallic objects between the Vais and smartphone.
