The declared values for vibration and noise, which have been measured by a
standardized test method, can be used to compare different tools with each
other and for a preliminary assessment of exposure. The measurement values
have been determined in accordance with EN 60745-1:2009.
IMPORTANT
The actual vibration and noise level when using power tools may differ from
the specified maximum value, depending on how the tool is used and the
material. It
is therefore necessary to determine which safety precautions are required to
protect the user, based on an estimate of exposure in actual operating
conditions (taking into account all stages of the work cycle, e.g. the time
when the tool is switched off and when it is idling, in addition to the start-
up time).
DESCRIPTION
- Battery holder
- Power switch
- Motor housing
- Snow screw
- Lock knob, for locking top and bottom tube
- Lock knob, for adjusting support handle
- Support handle
- Start inhibitor
FIG. 1
ASSEMBLY
ASSEMBLY OF TOP AND BOTTOM TUBE
- Press the cable in the tube and push the bottom tube in the top tube.
- The screw holes should be opposite each other so that the screw easily goes through. Make sure that the cable does not catch in the screw holes.
- Fix the top and bottom tube by inserting the supplied screw through the holes and tightening with the knob.
USE
INSERTION AND REMOVAL OF BATTERY
- Push the battery in the battery holder. Make sure the battery clicks in place.
- The battery is removed by pressing the lock button on the battery. Pull out the battery.
CHARGING THE BATTERY
NOTE:
-
Charge the battery before using it for the first time.
-
The battery gets warm during the charging. This is quite normal.
-
Connect the charger to the mains supply. Only charge at an ambient temperature of 4 – 40°C. The recommended optimum charging temperature is 24° C.
-
Plug the charger into a power point. The red status light goes on during charging.
-
It takes about 4 hours to fully charge the battery. The status light goes green when the battery is fully charged. The battery reaches full capacity only when it has been charged and discharged several times.
IMPORTANT:
Do not charge the battery immediately after use. Allow the battery to cool before charging.
If the battery does not charge -
Test the power point with a lamp or other product.
-
Move the charger and battery to an area where the temperature is 18-24° C.
-
If you still have charging problems, hand in the product and charger to an authorised service centre.
-
INSERTING/REMOVING THE BATTERY
NOTE:
Remove the battery before maintenance, replacing accessories and/or cleaning.
-
1. Check that the power switch is in the OFF position.
- Press the battery lock on the end of the battery and remove the battery from the product.
- Align the battery ridges to the slots in the casing, and press the battery in place. Press in the battery all the way until it clicks into place.
- Never attempt to force the battery in place. If it is not easy to press it in place, it is not properly aligned.
STARTING AND SWITCHING OFF
-
1. Check before starting and using the machine that all the parts are properly fastened, that there are no tools on the machine, that the handle is fixed and the battery charged.
- Start the machine by pushing forward the start inhibitor and then pressing the power switch.
- The start inhibitor can be released when the machine starts.
- Switch off the machine by releasing the power switch.
- Start the battery-powered shovel by pushing forward the small lock button (safety switch) on the top handle and pressing the start button at the same time. The battery powered shovel keeps working when the start button is pressed in.
- After starting the machine, release the safety switch. Switch off the machine by releasing the power switch.
SNOW CLEARING
-
1. First check that there are no stones, rubbish, wires or other objects in the area where the snow is being cleared.
-
Check that all the assembly parts (nuts and screws etc.) are firmly tightened so that the machine is in safe working condition.
-
Check are regular intervals that the snow screw is not worn.
-
Point the snow ejector in a safe direction. Do not point the snow ejector at yourself, other persons or objects.
-
Clear snow frequently to prevent it getting too deep. Clear snow as soon as possible after a snowfall for the best results.
-
Lift up the snow screw a little before starting the machine.
-
Tilt forward the machine until the scraper blade touches the ground. Push forward the machine at a convenient speed, but slowly enough to clear all the snow from the ground. The forward speed will depend on the depth of snow.
-
Clear snow to the right or left by holding the machine at a slight angle.
-
The machine can handle a depth of snow of up to 15 cm in each sweep. If the snow is deeper, hold both handles and work with a sweeping or brushing movement. “Shave” off the top layer and make several sweeps.
FIG. 3 -
Large areas need to be cleared with a definite working pattern to remove all the snow. The working pattern prevents snow accumulating where it is not wanted.
Pattern A
Throw the snow to the right or left side (where possible). For example, on a
long drive it is advantageous to start in the middle (top diagram). Clear
paths from one end to the other and throw snow on both sides.
FIG. 4
Pattern B
If snow can only be thrown on one side of the drive or path, start on the
opposite side (with the snow ejector pointing to the throw area).
FIG. 5
NOTE
• If all the snow is cleared down to the paving/asphalt this can scratch and
damage the machine casing and snow screw. Leave one to two centimetres of snow
on the ground to protect the machine. The rest of the snow can be removed with
salt or a shovel.
• Allow the motor to run for a short while after the clearing is finished so
that no moving parts freeze to the ground because of ice.
• Switch off the motor. Wait until all moving parts have stopped. Remove the
battery and brush off any ice and snow.
