SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS AND WARNINGS

  • As the user of this product, you are solely responsible for using it in a manner that does not endanger yourself and others, or damage to other property.
The model is remote controlled and vulnerable to certain external influences. These influences can lead to temporary loss of controllability, so it is always advisable to have sufficient safety distance in all directions around the model.

  • Never drive the model with low or low transmitter batteries.

  • Always operate your model in open areas away from automobiles, traffic and people.

  • Do not drive your model on the street or in crowded places.

  • Carefully observe all notes and warnings for the model and all associated equipment.

  • Keep all chemicals, small parts and electrical components out of the reach of children.

  • Never lick or put your mouth on parts of your model as they can seriously injure or kill you.

  • Always be careful when using tools or sharp instruments.

  • Be careful when building as some parts may have sharp edges.

  • Please do not touch the motor, controller or battery immediately after operation, as these parts can become very hot and you can seriously burn yourself if you touch them.

WATERPROOF VEHICLE WITH WATERPROOF ELECTRONICS

Your new Horizon Hobby vehicle has been designed with a combination of waterproof and splash-proof components that allow the vehicle to operate in wet conditions including puddles, streams, wet grass, snow or even rain.
Although the vehicle is designed to be highly water resistant, it is not fully waterproof and should NOT be used as a be treated submarine. The various electronic components such as the electronic speed controller (ESC), servos and receiver are waterproof, most of the mechanical components are only water resistant and should therefore not be submerged.
Metal parts, including bearings, bolts, screws and nuts, as well as the contacts in the electrical cables are susceptible to corrosion if additional maintenance is not performed after each use in a damp/wet environment. To maintain the long-term performance and warranty of your vehicle, you must perform maintenance as described in the maintenance guide after driving in wet conditions. If you do not wish to carry out this additional maintenance, you must not operate your vehicle under these conditions.
ATTENTION: A lack of attention when using this product in connection with the following safety instructions could lead to malfunctions and the loss of the guarantee.

GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
  • Please read the maintenance instructions carefully after driving in wet conditions and make sure you have all the tools to service the vehicle.
  • You cannot use all battery types for driving in wet conditions. Ask the manufacturer of the battery before use. Awareness and caution is necessary when using LiPo batteries in humid environments.
  • Most transmitters are not waterproof. Please refer to the operating instructions for your transmitter before you start using it, or contact the manufacturer.
  • Never operate the transmitter during lightning or thunderstorms.
  • Do not operate your vehicle in places where it may come into contact with salt water or polluted, polluted water. Salt water is very conductive and highly corrosive, so be very careful.
  • Even slight contact with water can damage the motor if it is not designed for operation in water. If the engine gets wet, give it a little gas until most of the moisture is removed from the engine. Running a wet engine at high speed will damage the engine very quickly.
  • Driving in a wet environment can reduce the service life of the engine as this puts a lot of strain on the engine. Change the reduction to a smaller pinion or larger gear. This increases torque (and extends engine life) when operating in mud, deep puddles, or other conditions that increase the load on the engine for an extended period of time.
MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS AFTER RIDING IN WET ENVIRONMENTS

Remove water in the tires by accelerating. Remove the body, turn the vehicle upside down and give it full throttle a few times until the water is removed from the tires.

  • Remove the battery packs and dry the contacts. If you have access to a compressor or compressed air, use it to blow the water out of the motor housing.

  • Remove the tires and rims from the vehicle and rinse gently with a garden hose. Avoid flushing the bearings or drive directly.
NOTE: Do not use a pressure washer to clean the vehicle.

  • Clean the vehicle with compressed air from a compressor or a compressed air bottle to remove the water from the crevices and corners.

  • Spray all bearings, fasteners and other metal parts with a lightweight water-displacing oil or grease. Don’t spray the engine.

  • Allow the vehicle to dry completely before storing it. Draining water (and oil) can take quite a few hours.

  • Increase the maintenance intervals (disassembly, inspection and lubrication) of the following components:

    • Front and rear axles, mounts and bearings.
    • All drive shaft bearings, housings, gears and differentials.
    • Motor: clean the motor with an aerosol cleaner and then lubricate the bearings with light motor oil.

Binding is the process of programming the receiver to recognize a specific transmitter signal in order to avoid interference from other transmitters. The transmitter and receiver that came with your vehicle are bound at the factory. If you need to rebind, follow the instructions below.

NOTE: The transmitter and receiver should only be bound when there is no other compatible transmitter in bind mode within approximately 120 m (400 ft). Failure to do so may result in unexpected binding to the wrong transmitter and loss of control of your vehicle.

Before beginning the binding process, ensure the servos and motor are connected to the correct ports on the receiver and the transmitter has charged batteries.

  1. Turn on the transmitter while pressing the BIND button. The transmitter LED flashes.
  2. Turn on the receiver. The receiver’s LED flashes quickly.
  3. When the LED is solid, binding is complete.

When both the transmitter and receiver are powered on, the receiver LED will be solid. If the receiver LED flashes quickly or not, the transmitter and receiver are not bound. Power off both the transmitter and receiver and repeat the binding process.
