USE

The workshop press is intended for straightening, eccentric pressing, die pressing and forming, for example, crankshafts, connecting rods, and for press fitting of axles, gears and bushings.

WARNING: Read, understand, and apply the safety instructions and warnings before use.

BEFORE USING IT FOR THE FIRST TIME

  • Before using the workshop press for the first time the hydraulic system must be bled.
    — Open the valve by turning it anticlockwise.
    — Pump several times to remove all the air from the system.

  • Check all the parts. Do not use the workshop press and contact the supplier if any part is defective.

HOW TO USE

  1. Place the intermediate plate on the press platform and position the workpiece on the plate.
  2. Close the valve by turning it clockwise.
  3. Pump with the handle until the knurled saddle comes to the workpiece.
  4. Align the workpiece and hydraulic cylinder so that the pressure comes in the middle.
  5. Pump with the handle to press the workpiece.
  6. Stop pumping when the pressing is done. Release the pressure from the workpiece by carefully turning the valve anticlockwise in small steps.
  7. Remove the workpiece from the press platform when the hydraulic cylinder is fully withdrawn.

MAINTENANCE

  • Clean the outside of the press with a dry, clean and soft cloth and lubricate the joints and moving parts at regular intervals with thin oil,
  • Store the press in a dry place with the hydraulic cylinder and piston fully withdrawn when the press is not in use.
  • Bleed the hydraulic system according to the above description if the compression capacity is reduced.
  • Check the hydraulic oil:
    — Remove the oil filler nut on the top of the container.
    — Fill up with high-quality hydraulic oil when necessary and replace the oil filler nut.
    — Bleed the hydraulic system.
