SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

The lightning flash with the arrowhead symbol, within an equilateral triangle, is intended to alert the user to the presence of uninsulated, dangerous voltage, within the product enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock to the person.

To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not remove the cover (or back). No user-serviceable parts inside. Refer servicing to qualified service personnel.

The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of important operation and maintenance (servicing) instructions in the literature accompanying the appliance.

  1. Protect this device from water, humidity, and other liquids. Avoid using/storing it in a strong magnetic environment. Do not expose it to direct sunlight and other sources of heat.

  2. Don’t let excess cord hang over the edge of the table or worktop or touch a hot surface.

  3. Before connecting the device to the power supply socket, make sure the voltage indicated on the device corresponds to the voltage in the power supply socket.

  4. Device for indoor use only.

  5. Do not handle this device with wet hands.

  6. Do not obstruct ventilation by covering ventilation openings. Install this device according to the instructions given in this operating manual.

  7. Do not install this device near any heat sources such as radiators, stoves, or other devices that produce heat.

  8. Keep minimum distances (5 cm) around the product for sufficient ventilation.

  9. Do not use the device nearby open flames such as candles.

  10. Disconnect this device from the power supply and remove the batteries if it is not going to be used for a long period of time.

  11. When you disconnect the power cord of the device, grasp and pull the plug, not
    the cord/cable.

  12. Use only authorized accessories.

  13. This appliance may be used by children who are above 8 years old and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge,  if they are supervised and guided by a person who is responsible for their safety in a cautious manner for all the safety precautions being understood and followed.  Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. Children should not perform cleaning and servicing of the device unsupervised.

  14. Fixed power cable may only be replaced at an authorized service point.

  15. To prevent damage to your hearing keep the volume at a reasonable level throughout the entire time of using the device.

  16. Never use this device if the power cord or the device itself is damaged.

  17. Do not disassemble nor repair this device yourself. The device has no user-serviceable parts inside. In case of damage, contact the authorized service point for a check-up or repair.

  18. Always disconnect the product from the power mains before cleaning.

  19. Clean the device with a soft, slightly damp cloth.

  20. Do not use any chemical agents to clean this device.

BACKUP BATTERIES INSTALLATION

In case of the device is disconnected from the power supply socket or a power failure, clock and alarm settings will be retained if the backup batteries have been installed  (Bluetooth function, radio, and backlight are not available).

To install the batteries follow the below instructions:

  1. Push and slide out the battery compartment cover at the bottom of the device.
  2. Insert 2x AA batteries (not included) with correct polarization.
  3. Replace the battery compartment cover and slide it right so that it locks in place.

MOUNTING THE DEVICE

ON THE FLAT SURFACE

There is a foldable stand at the bottom of the device. Fold-out the stand and place the device on a flat and stable surface making sure that the power supply socket is nearby. By placing the device on its stand, you provide proper ventilation and good quality of sound.

UNDER THE CABINET

Notes:

  • Prior to installation, make sure if the location you want to mount the unit is firm enough to hold its weight and safe.
  • Do not install the device above the heat sources such as a hot plate or stove.
  • To reduce the risk of danger, consult the technician if the location where you want to mount the device is safe and firm enough to hold its weight.
  • Use only the included accessories to mount the device.
  • Make sure the power supply socket is nearby the mounting location.
  • Connect the device to the power supply when the installation is finished.
  • When mounting is finished, make sure the device has been properly and securely attached. It should be checked at regular intervals if the screws have loosened and are securely tightened.

Follow the below instructions to mount the device under the kitchen cabinet:

  1. Remove the mounting plate by sliding it back and out of the device.
  2. Apply the plate to the bottom of the cabinet and mark the drilling holes. Drill the holes and mount the plate with the shorter screws included.
  • To lower the mounting height, use the spacers and longer screws included.
    Place the spacer with the narrower opening on the hole on the top of the mounting plate, then pass the longer screw through the hole underneath the plate and screw the plate to the bottom of the cabinet.

    1. Make sure that the mounting plate has been securely attached.
    2. Slide the device on the plate and check if the whole construction is secure.

POWER SUPPLY

Connect the power cord to the power supply socket. The device is ready to be used.

SETTINGS

Hour
After the power cable is connected to the power supply, „0:00” starts to flash on the display for a minute. During this period, you can set the time directly. To do this:

  1. Keep pressing the up/down buttons to set the hour.
  2. Press the PROG button to confirm and set minutes.
  3. Keep pressing the up/down buttons to set minutes.
  4. Press the PROG button to confirm.
    If the setting is not confirmed with the PROG button, it will be saved automatically after about 2 seconds.

If the time will not be set within the first minute, you need to enter clock settings to set the time. To do this:

  1. Press and hold the PROG button to enter time format settings.
  2. When the value starts flashing on the display, use the up/down buttons to set the desired time format. Press the PROG button to confirm and set the hour and minute.
  3. Confirm by pressing the PROG button. The device enters alarm settings (see the paragraph below).

Alarm

  1. Keep pressing the up/down buttons to set the hour.
  2. Press the PROG button to confirm and set minutes.
  3. Keep pressing the up/down buttons to set the minute.
  4. Press the PROG button to confirm the hour and enter alarm source settings.
  5. Press the up/down buttons to set the alarm source: buzzer or radio.
  6. Press the PROG button to confirm and enter alarm volume settings.
  7. Keep pressing the up/down buttons to set the volume. Confirm by pressing the PROG button.

Notes:

  • If no button is pressed within 10 seconds, the device will automatically save the last setting and return to the clock display.
  • Alarm volume gradually increases.

Turn the alarm on/off
Press the PROG button to turn the alarm on/off (when the alarm is on, the alarm icon is on the display).

Stop the alarm
When the alarm goes off, the alarm icon flashes on the display and an increasing sound is issued. You can stop the alarm by:

  • Pressing the button when the radio is set as an alarm source.
  • Pressing the PROG, up/down button, timer, or multifunctional knob when the buzzer is set as an alarm source.

Timer
The device has two types of timers:

Timer 1 (3 min/ 5 min/ 10 min/ 15 min):

  • To set the timer, set the timer knob to the desired position: 3 min/ 5 min/ 10 min/ 15 min. The timer icon appears on the display. The timer starts the countdown.
  • When the set time passes, the timer icon flashes and an increasing sound is issued.
    Set the timer knob to the OFF position or press any button to stop the alarm. The timer icon disappears.

Timer 2:

  • Press the multifunctional knob twice. „0:00” appears on the display. Press and hold the multifunctional knob for about 5 seconds. „0:00” starts to flash. Use the multifunctional knob to set the timer. Confirm by pressing the PROG button. The timer icon appears on the display.

  • When the set time passes, the timer icon flashes and an increasing sound is issued.
    Press any button to stop the alarm.

  • The maximum time for timer 2 is 3 hours.

Notes:

  • The countdown is displayed for 5 seconds since setting the timer. Afterward, the device returns to the clock display.
  • You can set two timers simultaneously.

Timer preview
When the device is in clock display, press the multifunctional knob to enter timer preview.

  • When the knob is pressed for the first time, timer 1 displays (if timer 1 is not set, OFF is displayed).
  • With another press of the knob, timer 2 is displayed (if timer 2 is not set, „0:00” and the timer icon are displayed).
  • Timer preview is displayed for 5 seconds, then the device returns to the clock display.

Display backlight
Display backlight is off from 11 p.m to 5 a.m. Press any button to turn on the backlight.
The backlight is on in full brightness for 5 seconds. Afterward, the backlight turns off.
In other hours, the backlight is on in half brightness. After pressing any button, the backlight is on in full brightness for 5 seconds, then it returns to half brightness.

RADIO MODE
When in the clock display, enter radio mode by pressing the button until the frequency displays.

Press and hold the button to return to the clock display.

Volume control
Rotate the multifunctional knob right/left to adjust the volume.

Searching for available radio stations
Automatic searching

  1. Press and hold the up button for about 2 seconds to start automatic searching.
  2. Press and hold the PROG button. The device starts automatic searching and saving FM stations.*
  • Another search starts from the frequency of the last stored radio station.

Manual searching

Press the up/down buttons to manually search for radio stations.
Note: It is possible to save maximally 20 radio stations.

Listening to a radio station
When in radio mode, keep pressing the PROG button to select one of the stored radio stations.

Improving the reception
If the quality of the radio signal is poor, adjust the antenna position.
If the radio signal is strong, the device will automatically switch to the stereo mode (the stereo mode icon is displayed). If the signal is weak, the device remains in mono mode.

BLUETOOTH MODE

  1. When in the clock display, press the button until „bt” is flashing on the display. It means that the device is in Bluetooth pairing mode.
  2. Turn on Bluetooth on the external device.
  3. Find and connect with this device (KM0817). Enter the default password „0000” or „1234” if necessary.
  4. „bt” stops flashing when the connection is successful.
  5. Press and hold the button to return to the clock display.

Note:

  • Use the up/down buttons to switch between the previous/next track.
    This functionality may not be compatible with all music players. In such a case, control music playback from the connected external device.
