- Device is an open type of equipment and intended to be installed in a suitable enclosure.
- Indoor use only
- Contact RECOM Techsupport if you have problems
To install the power supply, proceed as follows:
Step / Description
- Before any installation or maintenance work, disconnect and lock-off the mains supply for at least 5 minutes and secure it against accidental reconnection.
- The mounting guidelines can be found in Fig. 2
- Allow adequate ventilation to prevent overheating. Operation under continuous high temperature may reduce lifetime or over-temperature protection will be triggered. Refer to Fig. 3
- When connecting the PSU to an AC input voltage, first connect the earth ground wire to the terminal block, then connect N and L.
- Ensure that all of the strands of each wire enter the Terminal connection and the screw terminals are securely fastened to prevent poor contact. The use of ferrule terminations is recommended if stranded wires are used. Refer to Fig. 4.
- When disconnecting the Power Supply Unit from the AC input voltage, first disconnect the wires N and L, then disconnect the earth ground wire from the terminal block.
- Any usage which does not comply with the specifications may decrease the performance or damage the device.
Putting the Power Supply into operation
Important! Before applying power, ensure that the rated output current and voltage of the power supply meet the requirements of the application.

Fig. 2: Mounting
The power supply unit can be mounted on 35mm DIN rails in accordance with EN60715
Mounting, refer to Fig. 2.1:
- Place the device on the DIN rail with a slight upward tilt. As shown in Fig. 5.1, snap the device into the DIN rail.
- Now tilt the device downward until it reaches the lower part of the DIN rail.
- Press the lower part of the device firmly against the rail until the device locks into position on the DIN rail.
To make sure it is securely locked in place, give the device a gentle shake.
To release refer to Fig 2.2:
- Pull the DIN rail latch by using a screwdriver OUT of the device and HOLD it.
- Tilt the bottom of the device OUT.
- Pull the device away from the DIN rail by pushing it up.
Installation Instructions
The following installation clearances must be kept when power supplies are permanently fully loaded. For Vertical Mounting, the device should be installed with input terminal block on the bottom
Connection
Use flexible (stranded wire) or solid cables with the following wire cross- section, refer to Fig. 4.1. Ferrules are required for flexible cables. Use copper conductors designed for an operating temperature of at least 105°C. To secure reliable and shock proof connections, the stripping length should be 7 mm., refer to. Fig. 4.2 Ensure that the wires are fully inserted into the connecting terminals. Refer to Fig. 4.3 The screw terminals must be securely fastened and all wire strands inserted into the terminals to ensure safe and maximum contact.
Derating Graph
- Cold start capability -40°C; between -40°C and -30°C may exceed limits. Guaranteed start up above -30°C
- Kaltstart= -40°C, zwischen -40°C und -30°C können Grenzwerte überschritten werden. Garantierter Start bei über -30°C
Over Current Protection
The unit operates in constant voltage mode within its rated load range. When exceeding the maximum current rating by 105% to 150% of its nominal rating the unit enters into a limited-current mode which drives the output voltage to approximately 80% of its nominal set point. Further increased load leading the units into a hiccup mode with an automated restart.
