Product Information
The RMOD300-UW Series DC/DC Converter is a built-in converter designed to be
supplied from a DC source. It features various protections and is suitable for
a range of input voltages.
Installation Instructions
Warning: Electrical danger due to improper installation. Follow the steps
below to install the device safely:
- Before any installation or maintenance work, disconnect and lock-off the mains supply.
- Mount the DC/DC converter on a cooling metal surface in any orientation.
Operating Instructions
Important: Before applying power, ensure that the rated output current
and voltage meet the application requirements.
Derating: Refer to the provided derating graph (Fig. 3) for guidance on
safe operation.
FAQ:
Q: What should I do if I encounter a fault condition?
A: Depending on the protection mechanism, the device will automatically
restart after the fault condition is resolved.

The DC/DC converter is tested in accordance with the following directives and standards:

Intended use
This product is a build-in DC-DC converter. The equipment shall be supplied from a DC source. The DC/DC converter is suitable for input voltages in the range of 18-106VDC (refer to Fig. 4). DC/DC converter is protected against output short circuit, output over current, over temperature and has also an input reverse polarity protection up to -106VDC.
Installing the device

To install the device, proceed as follows:

Before any installation or maintenance work, disconnect and lock off the mains supply and secure it against accidental reconnection.

Mounting orientation can be done in any direction.

Mount the DC/DC converter on a cooling metal plate surface and ensure that the maximum allowed baseplate temperature is not exceeded. Use an heat pad between the DC-DC converter and the metal cooling surface in order to maintain good thermal contact.

The converter must be mounted with at least 4x M6 screws to ensure a secure installation. Refer to Fig. 1

The converter must be connected with the prescribed connectors. Refer to Fig. 2

Any usage which does not comply with the specifications may decrease the performance or damage the device.
Putting the device into operation
Important! Before applying power, ensure that the rated output current and
voltage of the power supply meet the requirements of the application.
Derating
See derating below (Fig. 3)
Safe operation
Operate the DC/DC converter only according to the conditions and the ambient
temperatures listed in the Specifications.
The unit should
- not be operated if defective
- not be operated under full load without sufficient cooling
- be installed in a controlled environment compliant with pollution degree 2 (PD2)
Faults and troubleshooting
Depending on degree of protection (mechanism), the device
restarts automatic after fault condition is removed.
Liability and warranty

- the unit is used for purposes not listed in the

- the unit is operated outside of specification
- the unit is modified in any way
- the unit is improperly installed
- the unit is operated in a defective condition
- the unit is exposed to corrosive chemicals or gasses
- the documentation is not kept up to date
Dismantling and disposing of the device
- Disconnect the dc-dc converter
- Uninstall the dc-dc converter

Thermal Consideration :
The module can be used in enclosed applications, as long as the cooling is sufficient to keep the baseplate temperature below 70°C. The surrounding temperature should not exceed 75°C.
