SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

READ THIS MANUAL CAREFULLY BEFORE OPERATING AND RESERVE IT FOR FUTURE REFERENCE. REFER TO IT WHEN ENCOUNTERING ANY OPERATING PROBLEM.

  1.  WARNING: To reduce the risk of electric shock or damage to the player’s main speakers, do not disassemble the player. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Contact technical support for further assistance.
  2. WARNING: To prevent fire or electric shock hazard, do not expose the player to rain or moisture (including drips or splashes). Objects filled with liquids, such as vases and water bottles, should not be placed on or near the player. Do not touch the unit with wet hands.
  3. WARNING: Do not expose the radio/cassette player or batteries to excessive heat, such as direct sunlight, fire, or other heat sources.
  4. WARNING: Use only the attachments/accessories provided by the manufacturer, except for a standard 3.5 mm (1/8”) auxiliary cable.
  5. Donot place objects on top of the player.
  6. Donot place the player on an unstable table, stand, tripod, bracket, or cart. The player may fall, resulting in possible damage or injury.
  7. Unplug the power from the outlet during lightning storms or when the player is not in use.
  8. Pay attention to the safety purpose of the polarized plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. If the provided plug does not fit into  our outlet, consult an electrician to replace the obsolete outlet.
  9. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, con- venience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the player.
  10. Dispose of this player properly, respecting your local laws for electronics and bat- tery disposal.

  15. AUXIN: You can connect a mobile device or audio source that uses a 3.5mm (1/8”) cable here. Playback will switch to AUX automatically when plugged in.

  16. Headphones ( ): You can connect headphones or earbuds here. The main speakers will be disabled while headphones are connected.

  17. AC Input: Connect the power cable here (see below).

BATTERY INSTALLATION  (BATTERIES NOT INCLUDED)

To install batteries into the boom- box, open the battery cover on  the back of the boombox). Then, match the “+” and “-” signs with the batteries. Replace the battery cover. If the boombox unit is not used for an extended period of time, remove the batteries before storing

PLAYBACK MODES AND FUNCTIONS

CASSETTE TAPE PLAYBACK
turn the function switch to the TAPE position. Press Stop/Eject to open the tape door. Place the tape in the cassette compartment upside down, as seen to the left.
The side you wish to play/record should be facing out- ward. Close the door and press the PLAY button. If you need to fast forward or rewind, press STOP first. Then, press the fast forward or rewind button. To stop the fast forward or re-wind, press STOP. Then, you can press PLAY again. Don’t press PLAY while fast-forwarding or rewinding. Press STOP first, then PLAY. If you need to pause the playback, press the PAUSE button. If you press the PAUSE button again, playback will resume.

RECORDING TO CASSETTE TAPE
In any playback mode (BT, USB, SD, Radio or AUX), place a tape in the boombox and press the REC button on top of the boombox. It should press down with the Play button and record whatever is currently playing. Make sure the cassette is a recordable one, else the record button may not press down.
Microphone Recording: If the MODE switch is set to Tape, the tape will record sound from the built-in microphone.

RADIO MODE
To listen to the radio, adjust the volume to a moderate position and set the MODE switch to RADIO. Then, select the frequency band with the BAND switch (FM, SW1, SW2 or AM). Use the tuning knob to tune the sta- tion while looking at the radio dial. When tuning FM and shortwave (SW) broadcasts, pull out the telescopic antenna and adjust the position to get better reception. This antenna is not required for AM, as AM uses an internal antenna. If you’re listening to AM Radio and the signal is poor, adjust the direction and position of the boombox itself to obtain a better reception.

BLUETOOTH CONNECTION AND PLAYBACK

This boombox allows you to connect mobile devices, such as your phone, to play back through the boombox BT speakers.

  1. Slide the MODE switch to the BT/TF/USB position. A pairing tone will sound and the blue indicator light will flash quickly as the boombox enters Bluetooth pairing mode. act
  2. Perform a Bluetooth scan on your mobile device and pair it with RACR-510BT (the boombox). After the connection is suc- cessful, the blue indicator light stops flashing and you can now play audio from your mobile device through the boombox. During playback, press the PREV button (on the side of the boombox) to skip to the previous song. Press the NEXT button to skip to the next song. Press the play/pause button to pause/continue playback.
  3. Long press the PLAY/REC button to disconnect the Bluetooth connection. You will hear a disconnection sound. Long-press the PLAY/REC button to reconnect with the Bluetooth device that was last paired.

AUX IN (AUXILLARY INPUT):
You can connect this 3.5mm input jack to an audio source, such as an mp3 device with a headphone output. When a device is connected to this jack, it will override anything else that is playing back, and you will only hear what is connected to the AUX IN jack.

USB/SD CARD PLAYBACK AND RECORD
To Playback from USB or SD cards: Set the function switch to the BT/USB/ SD position, insert the USB drive or SD card to be played, and the machine will automatically play the tracks on that media. During playback, press the PLAY/REC button to (on the side of the boom- box) pause/continue playing. Press the PREV button to skip to the previous song. Press the NEXT button to skip to the next song.

  • MODE/DIR: During playback, press the MODE/DIR button to cycle through the selection of music folders on the media.
  • Repeat mode: During playback, press the REP/DEL button to cycle to toggle the repeat playback mode: loop all —> single loop —> loop all The blue LED will correspond to the mode chosen.
  • Delete function: During playback from the USB or SD card, long press the REP/DEL key to delete the current track.

Recording to USB/SD: You can record Radio, Tape and Aux In to USB/ SD. With the Mode set to Radio or Tape (or with an Aux device plugged in), Long-press the PLAY/REC button to start recording. During the recording, the blue LED flashes quickly. After the recording is completed, press the PLAY/REC button to stop recording. The recording file will be automatically saved to USB or SD. If you then switch the mode to BT/TF/USB and press MODE/DIR, the track just recorded will be played automatically.
Microphone Recording to USB/SD: With the MODE set to BT/TF/USB, Long-Press the PLAY/REC button to start recording. During the recording process, the blue LED flashes quickly. Press the PLAY/REC button again to stop recording. The recording file will be automatically saved, and the new- ly recorded track will be automatically played afterward. Note: If a USB Drive and SD card are inserted at the same time, USB will have priority. Additionally, this model does not record Bluetooth audio to USB or SD.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

CLEANING THE BOOMBOX

  • UNPLUG THE UNIT BEFORE CLEANING. Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the outside. Do not wipe any internal parts or get them wet. Soapy water should be sufficient. Do not use any abrasive cleaning agents.

TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM SOLUTION
No power to unit •Connect the power cord or install batteries.
No sound from the speakers •Make sure volume is up, and the unit has power.

•Make sure headphones are not connected.
•Make sure that nothing is plugged into the AUX input, or make sure that what’s plugged in is playing audio properly.
•Make sure that the correct mode is selected for the music source you are using. Use the mode button and/or function selector
The record button will not press down to re- cord on a cassette.| •Make sure the two recording tabs on the top of the cassette are present. If they are not, there will be gaps there instead, which prevent recording. Use a recordable cassette, or place scotch tape over the gaps.

ONE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY / 90 Days

Riptunes™ warrants this product against defects in material and workmanship to the original purchaser as specified below provided product is registered online within fourteen (14) days of purchase.
PARTS – if the product is determined to have a manufacturing defect, within a period of one (1) year from the date of the original purchase, Riptunes™ will repair or replace the product parts at no charge (for parts) to you in the U.S.A. and Canada.
LABOR – if the product is determined to have a manufacturing defect, within a period of ninety (90) Days from the date of the original purchase, Riptunes™ will repair or replace the product at no charge to you in the U.S.A. and Canada, After ninety (90) days it will be the responsibility of the consumer.
Shipping costs to and from our warranty service center is the sole responsibility of the consumer.
To obtain warranty service by an authorized Riptunes™ service center, please email us at: support@riptunes.com to obtain a Repair and Maintenance Authorization (RMA) number and to locate the service center nearest you. Once authorized, you must mail the product, to the authorized Riptunes™ service center in its original product packaging materials or equivalent, to prevent damage while in transit.
Further, should Riptunes™ determine that the product is outside of the Warranty term, Riptunes™ will retum the product to sender at sender’s expense without being repaired or replaced, unless authorized by the consumer to service the out of warranty product at consumer’s expense. All handling or restocking charges for returns and/or replacements shall be non- refundable.
Riptunes™ specifically excludes from this warranty any non-electric/mechanical attachments, accessories and disposable parts including but not limited to outside case, connecting cables, batteries and AC adaptors. Riptunes™ reserves the right to repair or replace defective products with the same, equivalent or newer models.
We reserve the right to either repair or replace product at our discretion. Replacement may be either new or refurbished and while every endeavor will be made to ensure it is the same model, if same model is not available it will replaced with a model of equal or higher specification.
Normal “Wear and Tear” is not covered by this warranty. Further, Riptunes™ hereby reserves the right to determine “Wear and Tear” on any and all products.
Tampering or opening the product casting or shell, will void this warranty in its entirety.
Also this warranty does not apply if the product has been damaged by accident, abuse, misuse, or misapplication; has been altered or modified without the written permission of Riptunes™; has been serviced by a non-authorized repair center of Riptunes™; has not been properly maintained or operated according to the operation manual; has been used for commercial, non-household purposes; cosmetically damaged; was not imported by Riptunes™, was not manufactured according to specification of the United States market; improper installation or neglect; damaged due to improper packaging in shipment; damaged due to natural
disasters; if the serial number for the product has been removed or defaced; or for cosmetic damages.

ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO ONE (1) YEAR PARTS AND NINETY (90) DAYS LABOR FROM THE DATE OF THE ORIGINAL RETAIL PURCHASE OF THIS PRODUCT.
