- Wash the carafe, the carafe lid and the removable filter in hot, sudsy water or in the dishwasher. Do no clean any other parts in the dishwasher.
- Never use harsh or abrasive cleansers on any part of the coffee maker. Simply wipe off with a soft, damp cloth to clean the parts of the appliance. The keep warm plate can be wiped off with a clean, damp cloth. Use a plastic mesh pad or cloth damped in vinegar, when necessary.
WARNING: Never immerse the keep warm plate or the main housing in water or any other liquids. Do not try to clean the inside of the water tank with a cloth, as this will leave a residue of lint and may clog your coffee maker. Just rinse with cold water periodically.
DECALCIFYING THE COFFEE MAKER
{Clean function)
Calcium build-up occurs frequently in coffee makers. This is normal and is
caused by minerals commonly found in drinking water. Periodically, the coffee
maker will need to be cleaned to remove calcium or mineral deposits that may
be formed. The unit will need decalcifying when you notice an obvious slow
down in brewing time. We recommend decalcifying the unit with a solution of
white vinegar and cold water. A solution of two tablespoons of white vinegar
to one carafe of cold water is recommended. Pour this solution into the water
reservoir, and follow the normal operating procedure, without a filter in the
funnel and press the CLEAN button. When the brewing cycle is finished, empty
the carafe and rinse with water. Refill the water reservoir with cold water
only and repeat the brewing cycle only with water, two more times. This will
rinse out any remaining vinegar solution. The clean function is recommended to
be done 4 times per year or whenever you think is necessary.
NOTE:
After the coffee maker will operate for 60 times, the light indicator above
the CLEAN button will flash with green colour to remind the coffeemaker needs
to be cleaned.
Press the CLEAN button to clean the appliance (during standby mode).
Otherwise, the green light will not stop flashing.
