USING YOUR COFFEE MAKER

  1. Place the coffeemaker on a stable, flat surface. Make sure that the appliance is turned off and plug the power cord into the outlet.

  2. Fill the carafe with fresh water. Open the top lid and pour the water into the water tank. The number of cups is shown by the water level marks.

  3. Place the carafe with the lid closed in the coffee maker making sure it is correctly placed.
CAUTION: To avoid overflow at the funnel, the carafe must be placed with caution into the coffee maker with the carafe lid closed. If it is not properly placed on the keep warm plate it could cause hot water or hot coffee overflow.

  4. Open the top lid and insert the filter into the funnel, folding the seamed edges to ensure it fits correctly.

  5. Add coffee using the measuring scoop provided. Brew coffee with the coffee water ratio as described on the coffee package. Usually, one level scoop for each cup or 10 level scoops for a full pot of coffee are used. Do not exceed the Max level.

CAUTION: Never open the top lid during the brewing cycle, even if no water is draining from the funnel. Extremely hot water/coffee can spill out from the funnel and cause injury. If water/coffee is not draining from the funnel, IMMEDIATELY unplug the unit and wait for 10 minutes before opening and checking the filter.

  8. When the brewing process ends and the funnel is empty, there will still be hot liquid into the funnel.
Wait for a few minutes for the rest of the liquid to drip through into the carafe.

  9. After coffee grounds in the paper filter have cooled down, open the top lid and carefully remove the filter by grasping the handle and lifting straight up from the funnel. Discard the paper filter and the coffee grounds.
CAUTION: Coffee maker becomes very hot during the brewing cycle. Please handle the appliance with extreme care.

  10. The keep warm plate will operate as long as the appliance is switched on.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  1. Always unplug from the socket and let the coffeemaker cool down before cleaning.
  2. Wash the carafe, the carafe lid and the removable filter in hot, sudsy water or in the dishwasher. Do no clean any other parts in the dishwasher.
  3. Never use harsh or abrasive cleansers on any part of the coffee maker. Simply wipe off with a soft, damp cloth to clean the parts of the appliance. The keep warm plate can be wiped off with a clean, damp cloth. Use a plastic mesh pad or cloth damped in vinegar, when necessary.

WARNING: Never immerse the keep warm plate or the main housing in water or any other liquids. Do not try to clean the inside of the water tank with a cloth, as this will leave a residue of lint and may clog your coffee maker. Just rinse with cold water periodically.

DECALCIFYING THE COFFEE MAKER

{Clean function)
Calcium build-up occurs frequently in coffee makers. This is normal and is caused by minerals commonly found in drinking water. Periodically, the coffee maker will need to be cleaned to remove calcium or mineral deposits that may be formed. The unit will need decalcifying when you notice an obvious slow down in brewing time. We recommend decalcifying the unit with a solution of white vinegar and cold water. A solution of two tablespoons of white vinegar to one carafe of cold water is recommended. Pour this solution into the water reservoir, and follow the normal operating procedure, without a filter in the funnel and press the CLEAN button. When the brewing cycle is finished, empty the carafe and rinse with water. Refill the water reservoir with cold water only and repeat the brewing cycle only with water, two more times. This will rinse out any remaining vinegar solution. The clean function is recommended to be done 4 times per year or whenever you think is necessary.

NOTE:
After the coffee maker will operate for 60 times, the light indicator above the CLEAN button will flash with green colour to remind the coffeemaker needs to be cleaned.
Press the CLEAN button to clean the appliance (during standby mode). Otherwise, the green light will not stop flashing.
