 Thank you for purchasing the Nedis HBTA20WT.

This document is the user manual and contains all the information for correct, efficient and safe use of the product.

This user manual is addressed to the end user. Read this information carefully before installing or using the product.

Always store this information with the product for use in the future.

Product description

Intended use

This product is a heater that allows the user to control the surrounding temperature in the bathroom.

The product is intended for indoor use only.

This product is only suitable for well insulated spaces or occasional use.

This product can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the product in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

Children of less than 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised.

Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall only switch on/off the product provided that it has been placed or installed in its intended normal operating position and they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the product in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall not plug in, regulate and clean the product or perform user maintenance.

Children shall not play with the product.

The product is intended for use in household environments for typical housekeeping functions that may also be used by non-expert users for typical housekeeping functions, such as: shops, offices other similar working environments, farm houses, by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments and/or in bed and breakfast type environments.

This product is not suitable for primary heating purposes.

Any modification of the product may have consequences for safety, warranty and proper functioning.

WARNING

  • Do not drop the product and avoid bumping.
  • This product may only be serviced by a qualified technician for maintenance to reduce the risk of electric shock.
  • Do not use this heater in the immediate surroundings of a bath, a shower or swimming pool.
  • Do not locate the product immediately below a power outlet.
  • Unplug the product from the power source and other equipment if problems occur.
  • Do not dismantle, open or shred secondary cells or batteries.
  • Do not expose cells or batteries to heat or fire. Avoid storage in direct sunlight.
  • Do not short-circuit a cell or a battery.
  • Do not subject cells or batteries to mechanical shock.
  • Always purchase the battery recommended by the product manufacturer for the product.
  • Do not use any cell or battery that is not designed for use with the product.
  • Use only the cell or battery in the application for which it was intended.
  • Do not mix cells of different manufacture, capacity, size or type within a product.
  • Wipe the cell or battery terminals with a clean dry cloth if they become dirty.
  • Battery usage by children should be supervised.
  • Observe the plus (+) and minus (–) marks on the cell, battery and equipment and ensure correct use.
  • When possible, remove the battery from the product when not in use.
  • Properly dispose of the empty battery.
  • Seek medical advice immediately if a cell or a battery has been swallowed.
  • Always keep button cell batteries, both full and empty, out of reach of children to avoid the chance of swallowing. Dispose of used batteries immediately and safely. Button cell batteries can cause serious internal chemical burns in as little as two hours when swallowed. Keep in mind that the first symptoms may look like child diseases like coughing or drooling. Seek immediate medical attention when you suspect that batteries have been swallowed.
  • Always use the voltage (A.C. Only) marked on the rating label.
  • Before cleaning and maintenance, switch off the product and disconnect the product from the power source.
  • Close supervision is necessary when the product is used by or near children, animals or infirm persons.
  • Do not use the product near explosive or flammable materials.
  • Always unwind the power cable before using the product.
  • Do not let the power cable touch hot surfaces.
  • Only use the product in the upright position.
  • Keep the air inlet grill clean.
  • The power cable cannot be replaced. If the cable is damaged the product should be scrapped.
  • To avoid overheating, do not cover the product.

CE marking shows that a product is assessed before being placed on the market and that it meets EU safety, health and environmental protection requirements. CE marking is also sometimes accepted as a means of compliance with type-approval requirements; for example, electronic components that require type-approval and also CE marking for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) or low-voltage equipment.

Installation

  • Check the contents of the package

  • Specify the precautions that must be taken when the local space heater is assembled, installed or maintained.

Installing the product (image C)

  • Only install the product in zone 3, at least 1.8 m above the ground .

1. Drill holes with a diameter of 8 mm and place the plugs A12 C.

2. Insert the screws A11, let them protrude 6 mm from the wall.

3. Attach the bathroom heater A9 to the wall.

4. Make sure the product hangs secure.

2. Place the battery.

Setting the time

Time is only adjustable by remote control.

1. Press the set button A15 to display the hour.

2. Press the OK button A16 to set the current hour.

3. Press Ay to display the minute.

4. Press A16 to set the current minute.

5. Press A15 to display the day of the week.

6. Press A16 to set the current day.

7. Press A16 to confirm the setting.

Use

Switching on the product

1. Plug the power cable A13 into a power outlet.

2. Press the power button A10 to switch on the product.

  • The product is now in standby mode.
  • When you switch on the product it makes a beep and the display shows a “5” (Standby).
  • When the product is switched on (after a long period of time), the product may emit some smell and fumes.

3. Press the on/off button At to switch between standby and on.

  • You can control all the functions of the product with the remote control and a selection of the functions with the buttons on the display.
  • The display switches on.
Switching between modes

1. Repeatedly press mode button A8 to switch between:

Half power

Full power

Standby

  • If both the half power indicator A3 and the full power indicator A2 are switched on, the product is in full power mode.

2. Press At again to switch off the product.

The fan stops after 30 seconds in standby.

The default temperature is 23ºC when the temperature LED A5 is switched off.

Setting the temperature

Temperature setting is only adjustable by remote control.

The display shows the current room temperature when the product is in standby mode.

The default temperature setting is 23°C.

1. Press the temperature up and down buttons A17 to adjust the set room temperature.

2. Press A8 to cancel.

After setting the temperature, the heater automatically selects the required power depending on the temperature difference; less than 2°C difference is half power, more than 2°C difference is full power.

The product switches off when the room temperature is higher than the set temperature.

The product switches on when the room temperature falls 2ºC below the set temperature.

Setting the weekly program

Setting the weekly program is only possible by remote control.

1. Press the weekly program button A18 to enter into weekly program setting.

2. Press the day button A19 to set the starting day.

3. Press the Edit button A22 to select a program.

4. Press the timer on button A23 to set the starting time (only in hours).

5. Press timer off button A21 to set the stopping time (only in hours).

  • The stopping time cannot be earlier than the starting time.

6. Press A17 to set the temperature.

7. Press A16 to confirm the setting.

  • There are up to 6 programs available each day of the week.

8. Repeat step 2 to 7 to set another program.

9. Press A18 to activate the weekly program.

The product switches to standby when the program has the same starting and stopping time.

The weekly program is erased when A10 is switched off.

Window open mode

The product switches off when the room temperature decreases 5°C to 10°C in less than 10 minutes.

1. Switch on the heater and let it heat for a moment.

2. Press the open window button A20 to switch on the open window mode.

3. Press A17 to set the temperature.

4. Press A20 to switch off the open window mode.

Maintenance

  •  Before cleaning and maintenance, switch off the product and disconnect the power. Let the product cool down.
  • Clean the product regularly with a soft, clean, dry cloth. Avoid abrasives that can damage the surface.
  • Do not use aggressive chemical cleaning agents such as ammonia, acid or acetone when cleaning the product.

Warranty

 Any changes and/or modifications to the product will void the warranty. We accept no liability for damage caused by improper use of the product.

This product is designed for private use (normal domestic use) only. Nedis is not responsible for wear, defect and/or damages caused by commercial use of the product.
